Campgrounds near Felida, Washington
Felida is a residential neighborhood on the northwest side of Vancouver, Washington, set between Vancouver Lake and the Salmon Creek drainage. The location works well as an RV base: Interstate 5 and Interstate 205 are minutes away, downtown Portland is roughly fifteen minutes south across the Columbia River, and Clark County's regional parks, the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, and the Columbia River Gorge are all within an easy drive.
RV options near Felida fall into two main categories. Full-hookup commercial parks along the I-5 corridor handle larger rigs and longer stays, including Clark County Fairgrounds RV Park and Storage in Ridgefield, Vancouver RV Park east of downtown, and Jantzen Beach RV Park on the Oregon side of the river. For a more rural setting, Reeder Beach RV Park and Country Store sits on Sauvie Island along the Columbia, and Island Cove RV Park offers waterfront sites in the same area.
Washington State Park campgrounds at Battle Ground Lake and Paradise Point round out the options for travelers who want forested or river-adjacent sites within a short drive.
Things to do near Felida
Vancouver Lake anchors the neighborhood, with shallow water suited to kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding, plus a sandy shoreline used by walkers and picnickers. Frenchman's Bar Regional Park has an off-leash dog area on the Columbia, and Salmon Creek Regional Park offers paved trails close by.
Day-trip range covers most of southwest Washington and the north Oregon coast. Fort Vancouver National Historic Site and the Waterfront Renaissance Trail are minutes south in Vancouver. Multnomah Falls and the Columbia River Gorge waterfalls sit about thirty-five miles east, Mount St. Helens is roughly eighty miles north via Highway 504, and Mount Hood is about ninety miles southeast. The Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, just north of Felida, draws birdwatchers during migration.

Summer is the prime RV window. July and August are reliably dry and warm, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s, and they bring the heaviest demand at state-park campgrounds and full-hookup parks. Sites at Battle Ground Lake and Paradise Point can fill weeks in advance on weekends. Washington State Parks reservations open nine months ahead through the state's official reservation system, so booking the moment dates open is the right move for July and August.
Spring and fall are shoulder seasons. May and September often deliver mild weather and lighter crowds, which makes midweek stays easier to book at commercial parks like Vancouver RV Park and Clark County Fairgrounds RV Park and Storage.
Winter is wet but mild. Snow in the Vancouver lowlands averages well under an inch per year, and most full-hookup parks stay open year-round. Rain is steady from November through March, and some seasonal tent loops at nearby state parks close during this period.

Had a very good time on this RV! Recommend to anyone!

I am so happy that we chose to rent from Andrey. We went on a 13 day trip with our 3 small kids, when we picked the RV up it was IMMACULATE. So clean, smelled amazing, and fully stocked with everything we could have needed. Even down to camp chairs for our kids. We had zero issues with it on our long trip, communication with the host was amazing, and I could not recommend him enough. Best experience ever!

How to book campgrounds near Felida
For state-park campgrounds in the area, including Battle Ground Lake and Paradise Point, reservations are handled through the Washington State Parks reservation system and open nine months in advance. Setting a reminder for the rolling release date is the most reliable way to secure a summer weekend site.
Commercial parks near Felida take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Clark County Fairgrounds RV Park and Storage, Vancouver RV Park, Reeder Beach RV Park and Country Store, Island Cove RV Park, and Jantzen Beach RV Park typically accept bookings months ahead, with most demand falling between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Confirm rig length limits and big-rig access before booking, especially for older urban parks where pull-through availability is limited.
What to expect
Most commercial parks near Felida are paved or graveled with full hookups, including 30 and 50 amp service, and many accommodate big rigs, though maximum site length varies by park. Expect close-set sites in town and more spacing at the Sauvie Island and Ridgefield locations. State-park campgrounds in the area offer standard electric and water sites with shared restrooms, showers, and a dump station.
Pack for variable Pacific Northwest weather: waterproof layers from October through May, sun protection and bug repellent in summer. Cell service is strong throughout the Vancouver and Portland metro area and weakens in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and along parts of the Gorge. Leashed pets are welcome at most parks; confirm specific pet rules with each campground before arrival.

On RVezy, most travel trailers around Felida start near $95 to $150 per night, campervan rentals in Felida typically run $125 to $200, and larger Class C motorhome rentals near Felida average $175 to $275 nightly. Many hosts also offer multi-night and weekly discounts, so longer Felida RV trips usually deliver the best per-night value.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Felida%2C%20WashingtonWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Felida, Washington?
A standard Washington (or any U.S. state) driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Felida. No CDL or special endorsement is required for Class A, Class B, Class C, travel trailers, or fifth wheels on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and ID verification is completed online through your RVezy account before pickup. Visiting from abroad? At pickup, your host walks you through every system so you feel confident before heading toward the Columbia River Gorge.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat kind of protection and roadside help is included with my Felida RV rental?
Every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head out on Highway 14 or I-5 from Felida with real peace of mind. You choose your coverage level at checkout (not the host), and the plan provides meaningful financial protection against most damage during your trip. If you get a flat on the way to Mount St. Helens or a battery dies at Battle Ground Lake, one call connects you with roadside help. Save the RVezy support number in your phone before leaving Felida, since cell coverage can get patchy east of Yacolt and along Forest Road 25.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Felida RV trip?
Booking an RV rental in Felida is lower-risk than you might think. RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy, and there is a grace period right after booking so you can lock in your dates with confidence. After that, refund eligibility depends on how far in advance you cancel. If a host cancels on you, RVezy will help you rebook or issue a refund or credit. Full policy details are available in the RVezy Help Center. Book early for July and August, then relax knowing you have built-in flexibility if plans shift.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Felida RV rental?
Yes, a pet-friendly RV rental in Felida is easy to find. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see motorhomes and travel trailers whose hosts welcome dogs (and sometimes cats). Some hosts charge a small pet cleaning fee, which is listed transparently on the listing page. Felida and the surrounding Vancouver area are loaded with dog-friendly stops: Frenchman's Bar Regional Park has an off-leash area on the Columbia, Salmon Creek Regional Park has paved trails, and Battle Ground Lake State Park welcomes leashed pets. Message the host before booking to confirm specifics, such as whether a larger dog is welcome on the furniture.
parks.wa.gov/know-before-you-go/pets-parksCan the RV be delivered to me in Felida?
Yes, RV delivery in Felida is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who would rather not drive a big rig through the Vancouver metro area. Many local hosts will deliver the RV directly to your campground (Battle Ground Lake State Park, Paradise Point State Park, or a Columbia River Gorge site), set it up, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through everything. Delivery fees are usually mileage-based and shown on the listing. For a stress-free first Felida RV trip, book a delivered travel trailer at Paradise Point, about 15 minutes north on I-5, and skip towing entirely.
parks.wa.gov/find-parks/state-parks/paradise-point-state-parkHow does mileage work, and how far can I realistically drive from Felida?
Mileage is flexible on RVezy: each host sets a daily mileage allowance, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is ideal for a longer RV road trip from Felida. From Felida you are perfectly positioned: Mount St. Helens Johnston Ridge is about 80 miles north via Highway 504, Multnomah Falls is roughly 35 miles east in the Columbia River Gorge, Mount Hood is about 90 miles southeast, the Oregon Coast at Cannon Beach is around 100 miles west, and Mount Rainier National Park sits about 150 miles northeast. Check the included miles on each listing and add a buffer if you are planning a Gorge-to-Coast loop, you can easily put on 400+ miles in a long weekend.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Felida%2C%20WashingtonWhere are the best campgrounds near Felida, WA?
You have great options for RV camping near Felida. Battle Ground Lake State Park (about 15 minutes north) offers wooded sites around a spring-fed lake with standard and primitive sites. Paradise Point State Park along the East Fork Lewis River sits just off I-5 with standard sites. Vancouver RV Park has full hookups close to town and is a convenient base for exploring Portland. For Gorge views, Beacon Rock State Park is about 40 minutes east on Highway 14. For Mount St. Helens, look at Seaquest State Park near Castle Rock. Washington State Parks fill fast on summer weekends, so reserve early through the official Washington State Parks reservation system.
parks.wa.gov/find-parks/state-parks/battle-ground-lake-state-parkWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip from Felida?
Late June through mid-September is prime time for RV camping in Felida, with daytime highs typically in the 75 to 85°F range, low rainfall, and long evenings perfect for grilling outside your rig. May and October are smart shoulder seasons: cooler temperatures, fewer crowds at the Columbia Gorge, and lower nightly rates. Winters in Felida are mild but wet (40s and steady rain November through March), and many higher-elevation campgrounds near Mount St. Helens or Mount Hood close due to snow. Aim for the first two weeks of September for classic Pacific Northwest sunshine, harvest season in Hood River, and uncrowded trails at Beacon Rock.
weather.gov/pqr/I've never rented an RV before. Will I actually be able to handle this?
Yes, and you are going to enjoy it. First time renting an RV from Felida is genuinely beginner-friendly because every RVezy host provides an in-person walkthrough at pickup covering driving tips, the water system, propane, slide-outs, the generator, and dump procedures. You can message your host with questions before you book, and most are quick to share local tips for driving I-5 through Vancouver or navigating the Gorge. If you are nervous about size, start with a Class C motorhome rental in Felida (drives like a large van) or a delivered travel trailer. Do a short practice loop through the quieter streets of Felida and Salmon Creek before heading north on I-5.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Felida%2C%20WashingtonWhat if something goes wrong on the road?
You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering tows, flat tires, jump starts, lockouts, and mechanical issues. If you are heading from Felida up Highway 503 toward Mount St. Helens or east on I-84 through the Gorge and something happens, one phone call gets help dispatched. Your host is also a great first resource for quirks specific to their RV, and RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Snap a photo of the fuse panel, breaker panel, and water valve locations during your walkthrough in Felida, troubleshooting over the phone is much faster when you can see what you are describing.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Felida RV rental into Oregon or across state lines?
Yes, cross-state RV travel from Felida is expected and easy. Felida sits minutes from the I-5 bridge into Portland, Oregon, so a run to Multnomah Falls, Hood River, or the Oregon Coast is one of the most popular RV road trips from Felida. Travel throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, and beyond is generally fine under the RVezy protection plan, just confirm specific multi-state plans with your host through RVezy messaging. Travel into Mexico is not permitted because insurance coverage does not extend there. Canada trips may be possible with host approval. A Felida to Cannon Beach to Astoria loop is a perfect 3-day first trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for fuel on a Felida RV trip?
Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost on an RV road trip from Felida, but it is easy to plan for. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes get 9 to 12 MPG, Class A coaches around 7 to 10 MPG, and a truck towing a travel trailer typically sees 10 to 13 MPG. Gas prices in the Vancouver and Felida area generally run a bit lower than across the river in Portland, and since 2024 Oregon allows self-serve at most stations, so the convenience gap has narrowed. Top off in Washington before crossing the I-5 or I-205 bridges, and use a price-comparison app to find the cheapest stations along Highway 99 and Northeast 78th Street.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I reserve a campground near Felida?
For summer weekends at popular Washington State Parks like Battle Ground Lake, Paradise Point, and Beacon Rock, book the moment your dates open. Washington State Parks reservations open nine months in advance through the official parks reservation system. Oregon State Parks across the river, including Ainsworth in the Gorge, use a six-month booking window through the Oregon State Parks reservation portal. For Forest Service campgrounds near Mount St. Helens and Gifford Pinchot National Forest, use Recreation.gov, typically six months out. If you are flexible, Tuesday through Thursday arrivals at Paradise Point or Battle Ground Lake often have openings, even in July.
parks.wa.gov/reservationsWhat are local driving conditions like around Felida?
Driving an RV around Felida is very manageable once you know a few local quirks. Felida itself is quiet and suburban, with easy access to I-5 via the 134th Street and 99th Street interchanges. The I-5 and I-205 bridges into Portland can back up during rush hour (7 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.), so plan departures outside those windows. Highway 14 east into the Gorge is scenic but has tunnels and tight curves near Cape Horn, so confirm your RV's height with the host. Winter brings rain and occasional ice on bridges. Avoid driving large rigs through downtown Vancouver's older streets; use I-205 to reach the Gorge instead of cutting through the city.
wsdot.com/travel/real-time/mapWhere do I dump tanks and fill water near Felida?
You have several convenient options for dump stations and potable water near Felida. Vancouver RV Park offers dump services in town. Paradise Point State Park (about 15 minutes north on I-5) and Battle Ground Lake State Park have public dump stations, often free for registered campers and a small fee otherwise. Most full-hookup sites at private parks like Columbia Riverfront RV Park in Woodland include sewer at your site. Campgrounds in the area typically offer 30/50-amp electric, potable water spigots, and trash service; rustic Forest Service sites near Mount St. Helens are usually dry. Dump before returning the RV, your host will appreciate it and many require it to avoid a dump-out fee.
parks.wa.gov/find-parks/state-parks/paradise-point-state-parkWhat amenities come standard in a Felida RV rental?
Most RVs you will rent in Felida come fully equipped for a comfortable Pacific Northwest trip. Expect a kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with toilet and shower in Class B, C, and most travel trailers, beds sleeping 2 to 8, dinette, climate control (furnace and AC), and seatbelted seating for travel. Many listings include a TV, some include Wi-Fi or cellular boosters (helpful for the patchy coverage near Mount St. Helens), and most have a generator or solar setup for off-grid nights. Each listing page details exactly what is included. Filter by Sleeps count and look for listings that mention an outdoor shower, perfect after a muddy hike at Lacamas Lake or Moulton Falls.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Felida%2C%20WashingtonWhat add-ons and pickup options should I know about?
RVezy hosts in Felida offer a menu of useful add-ons that make your trip easier. Common options include linen and kitchen kits, camp chairs and outdoor rugs, bike racks, generators with fuel, extra propane, and pet packages. Delivery and setup are popular for first-timers heading to Paradise Point or Beacon Rock, with fees typically based on mileage from the host's location. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Felida or a nearby Vancouver neighborhood, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough; return windows are flexible if you message ahead. Mileage policies vary by listing, with some offering unlimited miles. Book Instant Book listings if your dates are tight, no waiting for host approval.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Felida%2C%20WashingtonHow do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment on RVezy is straightforward and secure: you pay through the platform with a credit card, never in cash to the host. At booking, you are typically charged a portion upfront with the balance due before the trip starts, and your selected protection plan is added at checkout. A refundable security deposit is held before pickup and returned after drop-off, assuming the RV comes back in the same condition. To avoid issues, do a thorough walkthrough with your host in Felida, take timestamped photos inside and out, and report any pre-existing dings. Returning the RV clean and with the fuel and propane levels you received is the easiest way to get your full deposit back quickly.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhat are the best road trip destinations from Felida?
Felida is one of the best launchpads in the Pacific Northwest for an RV road trip. Top picks: the Columbia River Gorge and Multnomah Falls (about 35 miles east, under an hour); Mount St. Helens Johnston Ridge Observatory (about 80 miles north via Highway 504, around 2 hours); Mount Hood and Trillium Lake (about 90 miles southeast, 2 hours); the Oregon Coast at Cannon Beach and Seaside (around 100 miles west, 2.5 hours); and Mount Rainier National Park (about 150 miles northeast, 3 hours). For a longer family RV trip from Felida, loop the Olympic Peninsula in 5 to 7 days. Combine Mount St. Helens and Mount Rainier into a 4-day loop for two iconic volcanoes in one trip.
