Campgrounds and RV parks near Fobes Hill, WA

Historic downtown Snohomish sits minutes from Fobes Hill and is the closest base for food, antiquing, and groceries before heading out for the day. Families often pair a campground stay with a day at Flowing Lake Regional Park, also known as Leckie's Beach, which offers a swimming beach, boat launch, fishing dock, and playground. For hiking, Wallace Falls State Park is the regional headliner, with a popular out-and-back trail to a multi-tiered waterfall and longer routes continuing to Wallace and Jay lakes. Closer in, the Centennial Trail runs north from Snohomish through farmland and small towns and is well suited to bikes and strollers. Tulalip Resort Casino and the nearby Seattle Premium Outlets round out rainy-day options.

The Fobes Hill area follows a classic Puget Sound pattern: mild, wet winters and short, dry summers. July and August are the driest and sunniest months, with daytime highs typically in the low to mid 70s Fahrenheit and minimal rainfall, which is why most regional campgrounds book heaviest from late June through Labor Day. Reservations for popular Snohomish County sites and Washington State Parks should be made well in advance for summer weekends. Spring and fall are quieter but still usable. April through early June brings green hillsides, wildflowers, and steadily lengthening days, though rain showers remain common. September often delivers warm, dry weather into early October before the wet season returns. Winter camping is possible at year-round private resorts and at several county parks, but expect frequent rain, short daylight hours, and reduced services. Non-utility sites and day-use restrooms at Flowing Lake close from mid-October through mid-April, and the Evergreen State Fairgrounds RV sites are open April 1 through October 31.

Most private resorts in the area offer paved or gravel pads, full hookups, and 30/50-amp service suitable for larger rigs, with on-site laundry, showers, and dump stations. Lake Pleasant RV Park, for example, has full-hookup sites that accommodate big rigs with slide-outs, plus wooded trails around a small lake. County campgrounds tend to be more rustic, with partial hookups and tighter access roads. A few site-specific notes worth checking before arrival: Flowing Lake has no on-site dump station, the nearest is at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds RV Park, and 5th wheels longer than 35 feet are not allowed due to road limitations. The Washington Discover Pass is not valid at Snohomish County Parks, which use their own annual pass. Wildlife is part of the experience: deer, waterfowl, and the occasional coyote are common. Bring rain gear in any season, and pack layers since evenings cool quickly even in summer.
