Campgrounds and RV parks near Gold Bar, WA

Gold Bar sits along US Highway 2 in Snohomish County, roughly an hour east of Seattle on the western slope of the Cascades. The town is the last full-service stop before the highway climbs toward Stevens Pass, which makes it a practical base for RV travelers heading into the mountains or staying close to the Skykomish River valley. The surrounding area is heavily forested and shaped by water. Wallace Falls State Park lies just northeast of town, encompassing 1,380 acres along the Wallace River with three waterfalls, three backcountry lakes, and old-growth coniferous forest on the west side of the Cascade Mountains. The Skykomish River drains the west side of the range, formed where its North and South forks meet near Index, then flowing past Gold Bar toward Sultan. Private RV options closest to town include Cascades RV Resort, Thunderbird RV and Camping Resort, Tall Chief RV Resort, Nor West RV Park and Covered RV and Boat Storage Facility, and the clothing-optional Lake Bronson Club Family Nudist Park. State and national-forest campgrounds along the US-2 corridor round out the choices for travelers willing to drive a bit farther.

Private RV parks near Gold Bar, including Cascades RV Resort, Thunderbird RV and Camping Resort, Tall Chief RV Resort, and Nor West RV Park and Covered RV and Boat Storage Facility, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Wallace Falls State Park offers five reservable cabins, each with a covered porch, picnic table, fire pit, barbecue stand, electricity, and capacity for up to five people. Cabins are booked through washington.goingtocamp.com, with reservations opening nine months in advance. The park does not have RV hookup sites; its two walk-in tent sites are first come, first served. National forest campgrounds in the broader Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie system along US-2, such as Beckler River, are bookable through Recreation.gov, with some sites held first come, first served. A Discover Pass is required for day-use parking at Washington state parks, and a Northwest Forest Pass covers many national-forest trailheads.
