Campgrounds and RV parks near Lakeland North, WA

The shoreline is the main draw. At Dash Point State Park, visitors can walk the sandy beach at low tide, swim, skimboard, and follow roughly 11 miles of forested trails open to hiking and mountain biking. Saltwater State Park, open for day use, adds tide pools, seasonal salmon spawning in McSorley Creek, and Washington's only state-park underwater artificial reef, which is popular with scuba divers. Inland, Lake Sawyer is a destination for fishing, paddling, and small-boat use, while Puyallup and Tacoma bring the Washington State Fair, the Museum of Glass, and Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium within a short drive. Seattle attractions and Sea-Tac Airport are all under 30 minutes north.

Summer is the prime window. From mid-June through early September, daytime highs in the Puget Sound lowlands climb into the mid-70s Fahrenheit with the driest stretch of the year, and weekend sites at coastal state parks typically fill weeks in advance. Reservable state-park camping in Washington runs from May 15 to September 15, so summer planning should start as soon as the booking window opens. Shoulder seasons trade crowds for weather risk. Spring brings unpredictable rain and cool nights but quieter campgrounds and active wildlife. Fall is mild and increasingly wet, with strong shoreline color and good crabbing and salmon viewing. Winter is the wettest season. Dash Point State Park stays open for camping year-round on a first-come, first-served basis outside the May-September reservable window. Saltwater State Park's day-use area remains open year-round, while its campground is closed. Private RV parks like Majestic Manor, Cran Mar, and Lake Sawyer RV Resort generally operate through winter, though rain, occasional lowland snow, and short daylight are normal.

State-park sites in this corridor are forested and relatively close together. Dash Point State Park has 140 campsites including standard sites and utility sites with hookups, a dump station, restrooms, and showers, and accepts RVs up to roughly 40 feet depending on site selection. Saltwater State Park, when open, has no hookups and sits directly under the Sea-Tac flight path, so frequent aircraft noise should be expected in the day-use area. Private RV parks lean toward full hookups, paved or gravel pads, and amenities like laundry and Wi-Fi. Cran Mar RV Park is geared more toward long-term residential RV living than overnight tourists, so confirm availability before planning a short stay. Cell service is generally strong throughout the area, and grocery, fuel, and propane are within a short drive of every campground listed.
