Campgrounds and RV parks near Mukilteo, WA

Mukilteo Lighthouse Park anchors the waterfront with a sandy beach, picnic shelters, and views of the ferry traffic crossing to Clinton on Whidbey Island. Walk-on ferry trips are an easy half-day outing from any nearby RV park and a low-stress way to introduce kids to Puget Sound. Day trips fan out in every direction. Deception Pass State Park, Mount Pilchuck, and the Mountain Loop Highway are all within roughly an hour and a half. Boeing's Future of Flight tour in Everett is a strong rainy-day option, and the Tulalip Resort and outlet shops sit a short drive north along I-5. On-site, Lakeside RV Park and Cedar Grove Shores RV Park both put kayaks, paddleboards, and shoreline fishing within walking distance of the site.

Peak season around Mukilteo runs from late June through early September, when daytime highs sit in the low seventies and rainfall drops sharply. Summer weekends at waterfront state parks and popular private resorts fill quickly, and ferry lines to Whidbey can stretch an hour or more on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings. Shoulder seasons in May, early June, September, and October are the best value for RV travelers. Sites are easier to book, trails are open, and the Cascades stay accessible into mid-fall. Daytime temperatures remain mild, though rain returns steadily by late October. Winter is wet rather than snowy at sea level, with November the wettest month and frequent multi-day rain systems. Many private RV parks near Mukilteo stay open year-round, but some Washington State Parks reduce loops or shift to first-come, first-served between mid-September and mid-May. Mountain campgrounds in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest typically close from late fall through spring.

Expect a maritime, forested setting rather than open-sky western camping. Sites under tall conifers can be tight on satellite reception and slow to dry out after rain, so leveling blocks, an outdoor mat, and quality awning tie-downs are worth packing. Most commercial parks near Mukilteo offer full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service, laundry, and dump stations. State parks lean toward partial hookups or no hookups, with shared restrooms and showers. Cell coverage is reliable along the I-5 corridor and patchy once routes climb into the Cascades. Ferry traffic, train horns along the BNSF mainline, and Naval Air Station Whidbey training flights can add background noise near the water. Quieter sites are typically found inland at Lake Pleasant RV Park and Maple Grove RV Resort.
