Campgrounds near Riverpoint
Riverpoint is an unincorporated community in east King County, Washington, located in the valley of the Middle and South Forks of the Snoqualmie River and bordered to the southwest by North Bend. The community sits at Exit 32 on Interstate 90 at the base of Mount Si, which makes it an easy staging point for RV trips into the Snoqualmie Valley and over Snoqualmie Pass.
Campground options within a short drive cover a range of styles. Nor West RV Park and Covered RV and Boat Storage Facility and Blue Sky RV Park serve travelers who want private-park hookups close to town. Tall Chief RV Resort is in Fall City, about 45 minutes from downtown Seattle, and is part of the Trails Collection by Thousand Trails, offering wooded sites near Snoqualmie Falls. Kanaskat-Palmer State Park sits on a forested plateau above the Green River Gorge, and Summit at Snoqualmie provides a higher-elevation basecamp near the pass.
The area works well as a Seattle-adjacent alternative, keeping RV travelers within roughly an hour of the city while placing them next to hiking trails, rivers, and mountain scenery.
Things to do near Riverpoint
Hiking dominates the Riverpoint area. The Mount Si Trail is the most popular route in the region, and additional state forest reserve trails surround the community. Snoqualmie Falls, Rattlesnake Lake, and miles of Snoqualmie River shoreline are all a short drive from town.
Water-based activities anchor day trips further out. Kanaskat-Palmer State Park offers whitewater rafting and kayaking on the Green River, where Class II-IV rapids challenge expert paddlers, plus fishing for steelhead and salmon in season and 3 miles of hiking trails through second-growth forest.
Families staying at Tall Chief RV Resort can use its swimming pool, clubhouse, playground, picnic tables, restrooms with hot showers and laundry, along with basketball, horseshoes, pickleball, hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing nearby. Summit at Snoqualmie adds year-round mountain recreation, including skiing and snowboarding in winter.

Summer, roughly mid-June through mid-September, is the most reliable window for RV travel in the Snoqualmie Valley. Days are warm and largely dry, trails are open, and campgrounds run at full capacity. Kanaskat-Palmer State Park is open year round (weather permitting), with reservations available during the summer, and popular loops fill quickly on weekends.
Spring and fall are shoulder seasons with cooler temperatures and more rain. Rivers run high with snowmelt in spring, which is when whitewater on the Green River peaks in difficulty. Fall brings the region's wettest stretch, with November averaging the highest monthly precipitation, around 12 inches.
Winter changes the calculus. Lowland sites near Riverpoint stay open in most conditions, but flooding on the Snoqualmie and Green rivers can close riverside parks temporarily. In the winter, camping at Kanaskat-Palmer is first come, first served. Higher-elevation sites near Summit at Snoqualmie shift toward ski-season use, and mountain-pass travel can require chains.

How to book campgrounds near Riverpoint
Reservation systems vary by campground type. Kanaskat-Palmer State Park reservations are handled through Washington State Parks' online system at washington.goingtocamp.com or by calling 888-226-7688, and a Discover Pass is required for vehicle day-use access. Reservations can be made up to nine months in advance of the first date of the trip.
Tall Chief RV Resort is part of the Thousand Trails network, and members can use their membership benefits, though the property welcomes both members and non-members, with bookings taken directly through the resort. Private parks including Nor West RV Park and Covered RV and Boat Storage Facility and Blue Sky RV Park take direct bookings through their operators.
Summer weekends across all systems fill early, so booking well ahead is important, especially for hookup sites.
What to expect
Sites near Riverpoint range from tight, forested state-park loops to open private-resort layouts. Kanaskat-Palmer provides 44 sites total: 25 standard tent/RV sites and 19 partial-hookup sites with water and electric connections, accommodating vehicles up to 50 feet, though availability at that length is limited. A dump station is on site, and a local fire station siren can activate at any hour and create noisy conditions, and BNSF railway tracks near the park mean campers may hear train noise.
Tall Chief has no sewer connections at individual sites, but offers a honey wagon that can be scheduled on Mondays or Thursdays, along with a dump station, plus rental cabins and yurts, a pool, and laundry.
Cell service is unreliable in the more forested state-park settings, and grocery options are limited outside North Bend, so stock up before heading out.

discovernorthbend.com/151/CampgroundsDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Riverpoint, WA?

Washington State does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for the motorhomes and travel trailers available on RVezy, even larger Class A coaches. Approved drivers on RVezy are generally 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association before your trip. That's it: pick your rig, book it, and start planning your drive up I-90 toward Snoqualmie Pass.

Booking is low-risk. RVezy applies a clear cancellation policy to every reservation, including a money-back grace period right after you book. So if your Riverpoint RV trip plans change, whether due to a Cascade snowstorm closing Snoqualmie Pass, a family emergency, or shifting work schedules, you have options. Refund outcomes depend on how far in advance you cancel, and RVezy accounts for major disruptions like natural disasters. You can review the full cancellation policy on the RVezy Help Center before you book. Pro tip: confirm dates with everyone in your party first, then book with confidence.

Absolutely, pets are welcome on plenty of rigs. To find a pet-friendly RV rental Riverpoint, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see motorhomes and trailers from local hosts who happily allow dogs. Once you've got your RV, the area is a dog lover's dream: leashed pups are welcome on the lower Mount Si Trail, around Rattlesnake Lake, and at Olallie State Park along the South Fork Snoqualmie River. Most Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest campgrounds, including Tinkham and Denny Creek, also allow leashed dogs. Pro tip: message the host before booking to mention your dog's size and let them know you'll clean up thoroughly.
fs.usda.gov/r06/mbs/recreation/denny-creek-campgroundCan the RV be delivered to my campground in Riverpoint?
Yes, and it's the easiest way to start your trip. Many RVezy hosts offer RV delivery Riverpoint and the surrounding Snoqualmie Valley, meaning your rig is parked, leveled, and hooked up before you arrive. Filter for Delivery on RVezy and you'll see hosts who deliver to popular spots like Tinkham Campground (Exit 42 off I-90), Denny Creek Campground near Snoqualmie Pass, or even a private driveway in North Bend. Delivery fees typically range from $2 to $5 per mile or a flat rate within a set radius. This is a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV: skip the driving stress, get a full walkthrough on-site, and start your Cascade adventure relaxed.
discovernorthbend.com/151/CampgroundsHow far can I drive on my Riverpoint RV trip?
You've got serious range from Riverpoint, right at Exit 32 on I-90. Many hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per day, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, especially for longer bookings. From Riverpoint you can reach Snoqualmie Pass in 25 miles, Leavenworth in about 85 miles, Mount Rainier National Park in roughly 90 miles, and the Olympic Peninsula via the Bainbridge ferry in around 110 miles. Going farther? Spokane is about 270 miles east on I-90. Pro tip: if you're planning a longer RV road trip from Riverpoint, message the host to negotiate a higher mileage cap upfront. It often costs less than paying per-mile overage fees later.
wsdot.wa.gov/travel/roads-bridges/state-highways/i-90Where are the best campgrounds near Riverpoint, WA?
You're surrounded by incredible options. The best campgrounds near Riverpoint sit right along I-90 in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Tinkham Campground (Exit 42, 12 miles east) has 47 forested sites along the South Fork Snoqualmie River. Denny Creek Campground (Exit 47, 17 miles east) offers 33 sites with some electric hookups near Franklin Falls. Middle Fork Campground sits along the Wild and Scenic Middle Fork Snoqualmie River with 36 spacious sites. For full hookups, NorWest RV Park in North Bend is just 5 minutes from downtown. Pro tip: national forest sites release on Recreation.gov six months in advance, so book early for July and August weekends.
fs.usda.gov/r06/mbs/recreation/middle-fork-campgroundWhen is the best time for an RV trip from Riverpoint, WA?
The sweet spot is late June through mid-October, when Snoqualmie Pass is dry, trails are open, and forest campgrounds are in full swing. Summer highs in Riverpoint run a comfortable 75 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit with cool nights in the 50s, ideal for RV camping Riverpoint without needing heavy AC use. September is a local secret: smaller crowds, vibrant fall color in the Cascades, and easier campground reservations. Winter is rainy in the valley (lows around 32 to 38 degrees) but spectacular if you're heading to Snoqualmie Pass ski resorts. Pro tip: book a winterized RV for ski trips, since temperatures at the pass routinely drop below freezing November through March.
weather.gov/sew/Is winter RV rental possible in Riverpoint, WA?
Yes, and it's a fantastic way to access Snoqualmie Pass ski resorts without fighting for parking. Several RVezy hosts in Riverpoint and North Bend offer four-season, winterized motorhomes with heated holding tanks, propane furnaces, and insulated underbellies. Filter your search and message hosts to confirm winter readiness. The pass gets heavy snow (average 400+ inches annually at Alpental), so the Washington State Department of Transportation often requires chains on I-90 between November and March, even for RVs. Pro tip: stay at a campground with shore power like NorWest RV Park in North Bend, then day-trip up to The Summit at Snoqualmie or Crystal Mountain. You'll sleep warm and ski fresh tracks.
wsdot.com/travel/real-time/mountainpasses/snoqualmieI've never rented an RV before. Is Riverpoint a good place to start?
It's one of the best places in Washington for first time renting an RV. Riverpoint sits right off I-90 Exit 32 with wide roads, gentle terrain in the valley, and easy access to beginner-friendly campgrounds within 20 miles. Every RVezy host gives you a full orientation at pickup, walking you through the generator, slide-outs, water systems, and dump procedures. You can also message your host with questions before you book, and RVezy's 24/7 support is one tap away. Pro tip: choose a Class C motorhome or campervan for your first trip. They drive much more like a large van than a bus, and Snoqualmie Valley back roads are perfect for getting comfortable.
dol.wa.gov/driver-licenses-and-permits/driver-licensingWhat if something goes wrong on the road during my Riverpoint RV trip?
You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking with a protection plan includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so if you have a flat tire on I-90, a dead battery at Denny Creek, or get locked out at Snoqualmie Pass, help is one phone call away. Roadside covers tire changes, jump-starts, lockouts, and towing to a qualified repair facility. You can also message your host directly through the RVezy app, since they know their RV best and often have quick fixes. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number and your host's contact in your phone before leaving Riverpoint. Cell service stays reliable through the I-90 corridor but can drop in the Middle Fork valley.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionCan I take my Riverpoint RV rental to Canada or other states?
Cross-border road trips are often possible with the right prep. Many RVezy hosts in Riverpoint allow travel into Canada (Vancouver is just 175 miles north via I-5) and throughout the Pacific Northwest, including Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. Just message the host before booking to confirm and get written approval, since insurance coverage needs to be aligned. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Popular interstate routes from Riverpoint include heading east on I-90 to Coeur d'Alene (290 miles) or south on I-5 to Crater Lake (385 miles). Pro tip: bring your passport, vehicle registration copy, and host's written permission letter for any border crossing into British Columbia.
cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/know-before-you-go/your-tripWhat kind of fuel mileage should I expect, and what does gas cost near Riverpoint?
Plan smart and your fuel budget stays manageable. A campervan rental Riverpoint typically gets 18 to 22 MPG, a Class C motorhome runs 8 to 12 MPG, and a Class A averages 6 to 10 MPG. Travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Washington gas prices tend to run higher than the national average, often $4.20 to $4.80 per gallon in the North Bend area, so fill up in Issaquah (15 miles west) where prices are sometimes lower than at Snoqualmie Pass. Pro tip: the Chevron and 76 stations at North Bend Exit 31 are the last big stops before climbing the pass, with easy RV-friendly pull-throughs.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Riverpoint?
Plan ahead and you'll lock in the best spots. Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest campgrounds like Tinkham, Denny Creek, and Middle Fork release reservations on Recreation.gov up to 6 months in advance, and summer weekends often fill within days of release. Washington State Parks (like nearby Olallie or Lake Easton) open bookings 9 months out through the Washington State Parks reservation system. For midweek trips in June or September, you can often find sites 2 to 4 weeks ahead. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder for exactly 6 months before your target Saturday and log in to Recreation.gov at 7:00 AM Pacific. That's when the most popular Snoqualmie sites get snapped up.
recreation.gov/What are the driving conditions like around Riverpoint, WA?
Driving here is straightforward and beginner-friendly in the valley. Riverpoint sits in the flat Snoqualmie River valley right off I-90 Exit 32, with wide highways and clear signage. The grade climbs steadily once you head east toward Snoqualmie Pass (3,015 feet elevation), so use lower gears on the descent. Watch for wet pavement October through May (this area gets about 65 inches of rain annually) and check WSDOT for chain requirements in winter. Cell service is strong throughout the I-90 corridor. Pro tip: avoid westbound I-90 on Sunday afternoons in summer, when ski and hiking traffic creates serious backups. Leave Friday morning or Sunday evening instead, and your drive will be smooth.
wsdot.com/travel/real-time/mountainpasses/snoqualmieWhat amenities will I find at campgrounds near Riverpoint?
You'll have what you need for a comfortable trip. Forest Service campgrounds like Tinkham and Denny Creek offer picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, and potable water, with Denny Creek also providing some electric hookups. Middle Fork has 36 sites with potable water and garbage service. For full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50 amp electric) and hot showers, NorWest RV Park in North Bend is your go-to. Free RV dump stations are available at the Tolt Laundromat in Carnation (15 miles north) and at most full-hookup parks. Pro tip: top off your fresh water tank at the Sinclair station in North Bend before heading to the national forest sites, since hand-pump water at Tinkham can be slow.
fs.usda.gov/r06/mbs/recreation/denny-creek-campgroundWhat's included inside the RVs available in Riverpoint?
You'll be impressed by how well-equipped local rentals are. A typical motorhome rental Riverpoint comes with a queen or king bed, full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), bathroom with toilet and shower, dining area that converts to extra sleeping space, heat, air conditioning, and roof-mounted solar or a generator. Most rigs sleep 4 to 8 people with seatbelts for travel. Many hosts include a TV and Bluetooth speakers, and some offer Wi-Fi hotspots as an add-on. Class B campervans are more compact but still pack a fridge, sink, and convertible bed. Pro tip: check the listing photos and amenity list carefully and message the host if you need specific items like a coffee maker, high chair, or bike rack. Most are happy to include them.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Riverpoint%2C%20WashingtonWhat add-ons and extras can I get with my Riverpoint RV rental?
Hosts make it easy to customize your trip. Popular add-ons for a family RV trip Riverpoint include camping chairs and tables, bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits with pots, pans, and utensils, generators, bike racks, kayaks, and Starlink Wi-Fi. Delivery and setup is a popular upgrade that gets your RV waiting at the campground when you arrive. Mileage policies are set by each host, typically 100 to 150 free miles per day with a per-mile fee after. Pro tip: bundle add-ons during initial booking. Hosts often offer better package pricing than adding items one at a time later.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Riverpoint%2C%20WashingtonHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and secure. When you book your RV rental in Riverpoint, WA, you pay directly through RVezy with a credit or debit card. Never pay the host outside the platform, since doing so voids your protection. Hosts may also place a refundable security deposit hold, typically released a few days after return assuming no damage or extra cleaning. To avoid issues: do a thorough walkthrough video at pickup and dropoff, return the RV at the agreed fuel and propane levels, and dump the tanks if your rental agreement requires it. Pro tip: take time-stamped photos of the interior, exterior, and odometer at pickup. It's the easiest way to ensure a smooth deposit refund.
