RV camping near Sisco Heights, Washington
Sisco Heights is a rural census-designated place in Snohomish County, Washington, sitting between Arlington and Marysville along State Route 9 about an hour north of Seattle. The community is wooded and spread out, with easy access to Interstate 5, the Cascade foothills to the east, and Puget Sound shoreline to the west.
Most RV campgrounds serving the area cluster around Lake Goodwin near Stanwood, roughly a fifteen to twenty minute drive west. Lake Goodwin Resort and Cedar Grove Shores RV Park both sit directly on the lake with full-hookup sites, and Emerald Springs RV Park offers another nearby option. Port Susan Camping Club, a private membership property near Marysville, adds a large gated community for members and their guests.
For off-road recreation, Walker Valley ORV Area is about an hour north near Mount Vernon and draws motorcycle, ATV, and 4x4 riders to a large DNR trail system.
Things to do near Sisco Heights
Lake Goodwin is the main draw. Guests can swim, water ski, kayak, sail, and fish for trout and bass, launching small watercraft from resort docks or a larger ramp at nearby Wenberg County Park. Cedar Grove Shores RV Park and Lake Goodwin Resort both put campers within walking distance of the water.
Off-road riders head to Walker Valley ORV. The DNR working forest offers 36 miles of trails, with single-track for motorcycles and mountain bikes, double-track for ATVs, and 6 miles of 4x4 routes. A Washington Discover Pass is required at the trailhead.
Day trips are easy: Camano Island State Park and Puget Sound beaches lie west, Deception Pass is about an hour north, and the North Cascades and Mount Baker are within reach for hikers and sightseers.

The Snohomish County lowlands have a wet, mild maritime climate. Summer, roughly late June through early September, is the drier window and the peak camping season. Everett averages about 1049 mm of precipitation annually, with a distinct dry season in July and August and the wettest month in November. Daytime highs typically sit in the low to mid 70s Fahrenheit in July and August, comfortable for boating and lake swimming.
Spring and fall are shoulder seasons with cool temperatures and frequent rain, but private campgrounds around Lake Goodwin generally stay open. Fall color arrives in October, and salmon activity picks up in area rivers.
Winter is wet and cool rather than snowy at low elevation. Some public campground loops and day-use restrooms scale back seasonally; for example, the day-use restroom at Wenberg County Park is closed and winterized November through March. Private lakeside parks such as Lake Goodwin Resort and Cedar Grove Shores RV Park tend to operate year round with reduced amenities in the off season.

How to book a campground near Sisco Heights
Private parks handle their own reservations. Lake Goodwin Resort, Cedar Grove Shores RV Park, and Emerald Springs RV Park take bookings by phone or through their websites and third-party platforms. Weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day fill first, so booking several weeks ahead is wise for lakefront sites.
Public sites at nearby Wenberg County Park are handled through the Snohomish County Parks online reservation system. Reservations are not accepted two or fewer days out; day-of camping is handled as first-come, first-served drop-in with a ranger. The maximum stay in any Snohomish County park is 14 days in a 30-day period.
Port Susan Camping Club is different: it is a private membership club, not a nightly-rental campground, so access is limited to members and their invited guests. Walker Valley ORV allows primitive camping at the staging area and along the main forest road with no reservation, but a Discover Pass is required.
What to expect on the ground
Expect a mix of tightly packed lakeside RV resorts and forested public campgrounds rather than remote wilderness sites. Cedar Grove Shores RV Park has about 66 sites on gravel roads in an open setting, with a few longer premium pull-throughs and RVs parked in fairly tight rows. Lake Goodwin Resort offers beachfront and pull-through sites with 30 and 50 amp service, water, and sewer hookups, plus a small store and laundry.
Cell service is generally reliable through Marysville, Arlington, and around Lake Goodwin, and grocery stores, fuel, and propane are within a short drive. Bring rain gear even in summer, and pack layers: overnight lows are cool near the water. Firewood, burn-ban status, and generator hours vary by park, so confirm rules at check-in.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Sisco Heights, WA
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Sisco Heights, WA?
RV rental in Sisco Heights is surprisingly affordable for the Seattle-Everett corridor. Travel trailers in this rural pocket of Snohomish County average around $120 a night, while motorhome rentals near Sisco Heights run closer to $200 a night, and many hosts offer 10 to 20 percent off for weekly or monthly stays. To find a cheap RV rental in Sisco Heights, book mid-week, travel in the shoulder seasons (April-May or September-October), and filter by towable trailers if a host can deliver. Pro tip: because Sisco Heights sits right between Arlington and Marysville on State Route 9, you can compare listings from both nearby cities and often score a better nightly rate.
snohomishcountywa.gov/1364/Camping-LodgingDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Sisco Heights, Washington?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Sisco Heights for almost every rig on RVezy. Washington State only requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for single vehicles over 26,001 pounds, and virtually every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, and travel trailer on the platform falls well under that limit. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy confirms your ID right in the app before pickup. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto club before you fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), which is about 50 miles south of Sisco Heights, and you're road-ready.
dol.wa.gov/driver-licenses-and-permits/commercial-driver-licenses-cdl/do-i-need-cdlWhat protection comes with my RV rental in Sisco Heights?
You can book with confidence because every rent an RV in Sisco Heights booking includes an RVezy renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, no add-on required. During checkout you choose the protection tier that fits your trip (RVezy offers multiple levels so you decide, not the host), and the plan helps cover physical damage to the vehicle within the plan terms. While this is not traditional auto insurance, it delivers real financial peace of mind so you can focus on the drive up State Route 9 instead of the what-ifs. Pro tip: review the protection options side-by-side at checkout and pick the tier that matches how far you plan to roam on your Sisco Heights RV trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat is the cancellation policy if my Sisco Heights RV trip plans change?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy (not individual hosts) sets a clear cancellation policy for every reservation, including a money-back grace period after you book so you can lock in your dates without second-guessing. Refund amounts depend on how far out you cancel and special circumstances, which matters in the Pacific Northwest where a sudden Cascade snowstorm or Snohomish County wildfire smoke event can shift plans. You will see the exact details on the RVezy website during checkout and in your booking confirmation. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best rigs for your Sisco Heights RV trip while keeping grace-period flexibility on your side.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Sisco Heights?
Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental in Sisco Heights is easy to find. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see every host who welcomes dogs, then message them with breed and size details before booking. Once you have your rig, the area is a dog lover's playground: Flowing Lake Park at Leckie's Beach allows leashed pets in the campground, and Strawberry Fields Off-Leash Dog Park in Marysville is a short drive from Sisco Heights. Pro tip: many hosts ask for a small pet cleaning fee, so confirm that in your pre-booking message and pack a lint roller for a smooth return.
snohomishcountywa.gov/Facilities/Facility/Details/Flowing-Lake-Park-at-Leckies-Beach-31Can the RV be delivered to my campground or driveway in Sisco Heights?
Yes, RV delivery in Sisco Heights is one of the smartest ways to start your trip, especially if you are a first-timer or you would rather skip towing through the State Route 9 corridor. Many hosts will drive the rig straight to Flowing Lake Park, the Evergreen State Fairgrounds RV Park in Monroe, or your own driveway, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy and message your host with the exact address. Pro tip: ask about a setup-only package if you want everything ready when you arrive, then enjoy a stress-free first night under the Cascade foothills.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Sisco%20Heights%2C%20WashingtonHow does mileage work, and how far can I drive from Sisco Heights?
Mileage is set by each host, and many listings near Sisco Heights include 100-150 free miles per night, with some offering RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer road trips. That's plenty of range for the classic loops out of Snohomish County: Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest is about 35 miles east, Deception Pass State Park sits about 60 miles northwest, and the Olympic Peninsula's Hurricane Ridge is roughly 120 miles via the Edmonds-Kingston ferry. Heading further? Leavenworth's Bavarian village is about 110 miles east over Stevens Pass. Pro tip: filter for unlimited-mileage rigs if you're planning a big RV road trip from Sisco Heights, and your total trip cost becomes much easier to predict.
fs.usda.gov/mbsWhere are the best campgrounds near Sisco Heights for RV camping?
You are surrounded by excellent RV camping near Sisco Heights, with several Snohomish County Parks campgrounds within about 30 minutes. Flowing Lake Park at Leckie's Beach has campsites with water and electric hookups, a swimming beach, and cabins, with size restrictions on the largest rigs due to access road limits. River Meadows Park near Arlington offers riverfront tent and yurt sites along the Stillaguamish. The Evergreen State Fairgrounds RV Park in Monroe is a popular seasonal option with a dump station. Wenberg County Park on Lake Goodwin and Kayak Point Park on Port Susan round out the local favorites. Pro tip: book through the Snohomish County Parks reservation system as soon as sites open each year for summer weekends.
snohomishcountywa.gov/1082/CampgroundsWhen is the best time of year for a Sisco Heights RV trip?
The sweet spot for a Sisco Heights RV trip is late June through mid-September, when Snohomish County sees average highs in the mid-70s°F, lows in the mid-50s°F, and the driest stretch on the calendar. July and August are the most reliable for sunshine and lake swimming at Flowing Lake. Spring (April-May) brings tulip-festival traffic and lush greenery but expect frequent rain, while October delivers vibrant fall color in the Cascade foothills with smaller crowds. Winter rentals are absolutely doable here thanks to the mild lowland climate (rarely below freezing), but campground hookup water often shuts off mid-October to mid-April. Pro tip: book a Tuesday-Thursday slot in early September for warm days and half the weekend crowd.
weather.gov/sew/I'm a first-time renter. Will I really know how to use the RV?
You will be totally fine, even if it is your first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host gives a walkthrough at pickup (or at your delivery location) covering the slide-outs, water system, propane, generator, and dump procedure, and they are a text away during your trip. Sisco Heights is a great launchpad for beginners because the surrounding rural roads off State Route 9 are wide and low-traffic, perfect for getting comfortable before heading toward bigger destinations like Mount Rainier. Use the Instant Book filter to find hosts known for quick replies. Pro tip: ask your host to record a short video of the dump and hookup process during your walkthrough so you can replay it at the campground.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002967353-Renting-an-RVWhat happens if I have a breakdown or roadside issue near Sisco Heights?
You are covered: 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every RVezy booking, so help is one phone number away whether you are parked at Flowing Lake or climbing Stevens Pass on US-2. Roadside handles flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing to the nearest qualified service center. Your host is also your local lifeline for mechanical questions, and the RVezy support team can step in if you need an extra hand. Cell service is solid throughout Snohomish County along Interstate 5, State Route 9, and US-2, so reaching help is easy. Pro tip: save the roadside number and your host's contact in your phone before pulling out of the driveway.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionCan I drive my Sisco Heights RV rental into Canada or other states?
Cross-border road trips from Sisco Heights are popular and often allowed, you just need a quick green light from your host before booking since they set the travel area. The Peace Arch border crossing at Blaine is only about 70 miles north on Interstate 5, putting Vancouver, BC about 2 hours away. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. Interstate trips are usually no problem, with Oregon's coast and Idaho's panhandle both within reach. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm Canada travel, bring your passport (and your pet's rabies certificate if applicable), and check the CBSA wait times the morning of your crossing.
cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/know-before-you-go/your-tripHow should I budget for fuel on an RV rental in Washington?
Fuel is the biggest variable on any RV trip, but it's manageable from Sisco Heights with a little planning. Expect roughly 8-10 miles per gallon (MPG) for a Class C motorhome, 18-22 MPG for a Class B campervan, and 12-16 MPG for a truck towing a travel trailer. Washington State gas prices typically run about 50-80 cents above the national average, and you'll find the cheapest fill-ups at Costco in Marysville (10 minutes away) or the Tulalip Quil Ceda Village stations just off I-5 exit 200. Pro tip: top off in Marysville before heading east toward the Cascades, where gas at Sultan and Index can run 30-50 cents more per gallon.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Sisco Heights?
For peak summer weekends, book 4-6 months out. Snohomish County Parks releases all campsites on January 1 each year through their online reservation system at reservations.snocoparks.org, and Flowing Lake Park weekends in July and August often fill within days. Washington State Parks (like Wenberg or Deception Pass) open reservations 9 months ahead via the Washington State Parks site. Mid-week stays and shoulder-season trips (April, May, September, October) are far easier to book on shorter notice. Pro tip: set a January 1 calendar reminder to grab Flowing Lake or Kayak Point sites the moment the system opens, and have a backup site picked before you log in.
snohomishcountywa.gov/1082/CampgroundsWhat are the driving conditions like around Sisco Heights?
Driving an RV around Sisco Heights is generally relaxed, with rural two-lane roads, gentle terrain, and an elevation of about 450 feet. State Route 9 runs right through the community and is the main route between Arlington and Marysville, with a 55 mph speed limit and easy curves. Interstate 5 is just 5 miles west via SR-528. Watch for fog in the low-lying farm areas on cool mornings, occasional black ice from November to February, and heavier traffic on Friday afternoons heading north toward Mount Baker. If you're heading east toward Stevens Pass on US-2, carry tire chains November through April (required by Washington DOT in mountain pass conditions). Pro tip: check WSDOT mountain pass cameras before any Cascade trip.
wsdot.wa.gov/travel/real-time/mountainpassesWhat amenities will I find at campgrounds near Sisco Heights?
Most established campgrounds near Sisco Heights offer the essentials and then some. Snohomish County Parks sites like Flowing Lake and Kayak Point provide water and 30/50-amp electric hookups, flush toilets, hot showers, picnic tables, and fire rings, though full sewer hookups are rare at county parks. The closest dump station to Sisco Heights is at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds RV Park in Monroe, about 20 miles south, and Thunderbird RV Resort offers full hookups including sewer. Fresh water fill stations are available at most county parks during the season (mid-April to mid-October). Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking water hose and a 30-amp-to-15-amp adapter so you're ready for any hookup configuration.
snohomishcountywa.gov/Facilities/Facility/Details/Flowing-Lake-Park-at-Leckies-Beach-31What's included inside a typical RV rental in Sisco Heights?

A typical campervan rental in Sisco Heights includes a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave), a sleeping area for 2-4, and basic cookware, while Class C and Class A motorhome rental in Sisco Heights options add a wet bath, separate bedroom, dinette, generator, and roof-mounted air conditioning. Travel trailers and fifth wheels sleep 4-8 with similar amenities plus slide-outs for extra living space. Seatbelts are provided for all passengers (Washington law requires every traveler to be belted while moving). Many hosts include linens, kitchen kits, and outdoor chairs as add-ons. Pro tip: confirm Wi-Fi or hotspot availability with your host if you plan to work remotely from a Cascade-foothills campsite where cell signal varies.
wsp.wa.gov/breath-test/seat-belt-law/What add-ons and pickup options should I expect?
Hosts in the Sisco Heights area commonly offer add-ons like delivery and setup, generator use, bedding and linen packages, camp chairs and tables, bike racks, kayak roof carriers, and pet packages, with fees varying by host. Pickup is typically at the host's home (many are off State Route 9 between Arlington and Marysville), with a walkthrough included. Mileage policies vary, so check whether your listing includes a daily mileage allowance or RV rental with unlimited mileage. Pro tip: bundle delivery plus a linen package if you are flying into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, you will skip the rental car and walk into a fully made-up RV.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Sisco%20Heights%2C%20WashingtonHow do payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy at booking with a credit or debit card, never in cash to the host. A refundable security deposit is placed as an authorization hold on your card before pickup and released after the host confirms the RV is returned in the same condition. To avoid deposit issues, document the rig with photos at pickup and dropoff, return it with the same fuel and propane levels, and dump the tanks if your agreement requires it. Pro tip: have a card with available credit on file (not a near-limit card) so the deposit hold goes through smoothly and your Sisco Heights trip starts on time.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhat are the best road trip routes from Sisco Heights?
You're perfectly positioned for an RV road trip from Sisco Heights in almost any direction. Head east on US-2 over Stevens Pass to Leavenworth (110 miles, 2.5 hours) for Bavarian-village charm. Drive north on Interstate 5 to Mount Baker and Bellingham (75-90 miles) for alpine views and the San Juans gateway. Loop the Mountain Loop Highway through Granite Falls and Darrington (about 55-mile scenic loop) for old-growth forest and Big Four Ice Caves. Cross the Edmonds-Kingston ferry to Olympic National Park's Hurricane Ridge (about 120 miles, 3.5 hours). Or follow I-5 south to Mount Rainier (130 miles, 3 hours). Pro tip: the Mountain Loop is RV-friendly only on the paved sections between Granite Falls and Barlow Pass, the gravel stretch past Barlow is best left to smaller campervans.
