Campgrounds and RV parks near White Swan, WA

White Swan sits in the lower Yakima Valley on the Yakama Indian Reservation in Yakima County, about 30 miles west of the city of Yakima. The town is an unincorporated community within reservation boundaries, and most developed RV camping is found east toward Yakima rather than within White Swan itself. Travelers should plan supply stops and fuel in Yakima or Toppenish before heading out, since services in White Swan are limited. The surrounding landscape is arid shrub-steppe on the Yakima River floodplain, with Mount Adams visible to the southwest and forested foothills rising west into the Ahtanum and Cascade slopes. Elevation in town is roughly 1,000 feet, so summer days can be hot while higher-elevation campgrounds west of the valley stay noticeably cooler. RV options closest to White Swan are clustered around Yakima and Union Gap. SunTides RV Park, Yakima RV Park, and Circle H RV Ranch serve travelers wanting full hookups near town, while Yakima Sportsman State Park provides a state-park base on the Yakima River. For forest and snow access, Ahtanum Sno-Park on Department of Natural Resources land is the main winter trailhead west of the valley.

Yakima Sportsman State Park takes reservations through the Washington State Parks system online or by phone at (888) CAMPOUT. The park has 37 standard sites and 37 full-hookup sites, with hookup sites 1 through 16 sized for rigs up to 60 feet. Check-in is 2:30 p.m. and check-out is 1 p.m. A Discover Pass is required for day-use vehicle access to Washington state parks. Private RV parks near Yakima, including SunTides RV Park, Yakima RV Park, and Circle H RV Ranch, book directly through each property. For DNR land in Ahtanum State Forest, including Ahtanum Sno-Park, a Discover Pass is required year-round and a separate Sno-Park Permit is not a substitute on DNR sites. Most DNR campgrounds in the forest operate first come, first served rather than by reservation.
