Campgrounds and RV parks near Juneau, WI

Juneau sits in Dodge County in southeast Wisconsin, immediately south of the Horicon Marsh, the largest freshwater cattail marsh in the contiguous United States and a recognized Wetland of International Importance. The town serves as a practical base for RV travelers exploring the marsh, the Rock River corridor, and the farmland and small lakes of the Kettle Moraine region to the east. Campground options within a short drive include Fairgrounds RV Park in Juneau itself, The Playful Goose Campground of the Horicon Marsh on the marsh's northern edge, and River Bend RV Resort along the Rock River. Breezy Hill Campground and Shady Oaks Campground round out the nearby private options, offering full hookups, wooded and open sites, and typical family amenities. Most sites in this area are private rather than state-run, which means online booking, flexible arrival windows, and fewer of the rigid rules found in state parks. Juneau also puts travelers within about an hour of Madison, Milwaukee, and the Wisconsin Dells.

Private campgrounds near Juneau, including Fairgrounds RV Park, The Playful Goose Campground of the Horicon Marsh, River Bend RV Resort, Breezy Hill Campground, and Shady Oaks Campground, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Most require a deposit at booking and enforce cancellation windows of one to two weeks. For Wisconsin State Park sites in the broader region, reservations go through the Wisconsin DNR system at wisconsin.goingtocamp.com, which opens up to 11 months in advance of the planned date of occupancy. A vehicle admission pass is required for any motor vehicles brought into the property in addition to the campsite fee. Summer weekends, fair week in Juneau, and the peak goose migration weekends in October are the hardest dates to secure. Reserve those two to three months out when possible, and use weekday arrivals for more flexibility.
