Campgrounds near Reedsburg, Wisconsin
Reedsburg sits in Sauk County in south-central Wisconsin, about a dozen miles southwest of Wisconsin Dells and roughly the same distance from Baraboo and Devil's Lake State Park. The location puts RV travelers within short drives of the Wisconsin River, the Baraboo Range, and the 400 State Trail, which begins in downtown Reedsburg and follows an old rail bed to Elroy.
Campground options in the area range from full-service resorts geared toward family stays to smaller parks that lean quieter and more rural. Baraboo RV Resort By Rjourney and Chapparal Campground And Resort sit along the Dells and Baraboo corridor, while Wanna Bee Campground and RV Resort and Arrowhead RV Campground provide additional wooded settings within about a half-hour drive.
Country Roads Motorhome and RV Park rounds out the closer-in options and tends to draw travelers who want quick access to Reedsburg itself. Most parks in this stretch of Wisconsin combine standard RV hookups with seasonal amenities such as pools, playgrounds, and organized weekend activities during the summer months.
Things to do near Reedsburg
Devil's Lake State Park is the region's headline outdoor draw, with a 360-acre lake, quartzite bluffs, and more than 29 miles of hiking trails. Mirror Lake and Rocky Arbor state parks add quieter alternatives, and the Wisconsin Dells waterpark corridor is a short drive north for families traveling with kids.
Cyclists use the 400 State Trail out of Reedsburg to connect with the Elroy-Sparta State Trail, one of the country's earliest rail-to-trail conversions. The Wisconsin River offers paddling and tubing, and Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Cascade Mountain, and the International Crane Foundation give travelers rain-day and evening options within about a 20-minute radius.

Peak RV season in this part of Wisconsin runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day, when private campgrounds operate full amenities and Devil's Lake State Park often reaches capacity on weekends. Reservations at Wisconsin state parks open eleven months in advance through the Wisconsin DNR, and popular summer weekends at Devil's Lake regularly book out within days of the window opening.
Late spring and early fall are strong shoulder seasons. May and September bring milder temperatures, lower bug pressure, and easier walk-in availability, though nights can drop into the 40s. Fall color in the Baraboo Hills typically peaks in the first half of October.
Winter closes most private RV parks in the area, and many state park campgrounds shift to limited or walk-in-only status. Travelers planning a shoulder-season trip should confirm open dates directly with each campground, since operating calendars in Wisconsin vary year to year.

How to book campgrounds near Reedsburg
Wisconsin state park campgrounds, including Devil's Lake, Mirror Lake, and Rocky Arbor, are reserved through the Wisconsin DNR reservation system, currently operated by Camis on the GoingToCamp platform. Sites open on a rolling eleven-month window at 9 a.m. Central Time, and a Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission pass is required in addition to the campsite fee.
Private parks such as Baraboo RV Resort By Rjourney, Chapparal Campground And Resort, Wanna Bee Campground and RV Resort, Arrowhead RV Campground, and Country Roads Motorhome and RV Park take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Summer weekends, holiday weeks, and dates overlapping Wisconsin Dells school-break traffic should be locked in several months out, with two-night minimums common on weekends and three-night minimums on holidays.
What to expect
Sites near Reedsburg range from open, pull-through resort layouts to shaded back-in sites in wooded parks. Full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service are widely available at private campgrounds, while state park sites are typically electric-only or non-electric, with a shared dump station on the way out.
Cell coverage is generally reliable across Sauk County, though it thins along the Baraboo bluffs and inside Devil's Lake State Park. Mosquitoes and ticks are active from late May into September, so travelers should pack repellent and check for ticks after hikes.
Roads into the area are RV-friendly on the main routes off Interstate 90/94 and US Highway 12, but some campground access roads narrow quickly. Drivers of larger rigs should confirm site length and turning radius with the park before arrival.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Reedsburg, WI
How much does an RV rental in Reedsburg cost, and how can I save?
RV rental in Reedsburg typically runs $95 to $200 per night for travel trailers and pop-ups, while larger Class A and Class C motorhomes generally range from $175 to $350 per night, with hosts setting their own rates on RVezy. For a cheap RV rental in Reedsburg, target mid-week pickups in May, early June, or September, when nightly rates and Wisconsin Dells crowds both drop. Booking a travel trailer instead of a drivable motorhome usually saves $40 to $80 per night, and many Reedsburg hosts offer weekly discounts. Pro tip: fuel up at Kwik Trip stations, which are typically 3 to 8 cents below the local average, and your road trip budget stretches even further.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Reedsburg%2C%20WisconsinDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Reedsburg, WI?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Reedsburg for nearly every rig on RVezy. Wisconsin only requires a Commercial Driver License (CDL) for recreational vehicles longer than 45 feet, and almost no RV on the marketplace comes close to that length. You will need to be 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking, so the process is quick and paperless. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home license. Once you are verified, you are cleared to explore everything from Devil's Lake State Park to the Wisconsin Dells.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection is included with my Reedsburg RV rental?
Every RV rental in Reedsburg booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Highway 23 toward the Dells with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most damages to the vehicle and is not insurance, but it provides meaningful financial protection during your trip. You choose the coverage level that fits you during checkout, not the host, so it is tailored to how you travel. Pro tip: if you are planning longer drives to Door County or the Mississippi River bluffs, picking a higher protection tier costs only a little more and lets you relax and enjoy the scenery.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Reedsburg RV trip?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and it includes a grace-period window after booking where you can get a full refund if plans change. Cancellations farther out from your trip start date generally receive better refunds, and special protections apply for events like natural disasters, which matters in Wisconsin where severe summer thunderstorms or early-season snow can occasionally upend plans. Your cancellation terms are clearly shown during checkout and in your RVezy account. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best Devil's Lake-area rigs, knowing the grace period has your back if something unexpected pops up.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Reedsburg RV trip?
Yes, plenty of pet-friendly RV rental options in Reedsburg are ready for your dog or cat. Just use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see hosts who welcome four-legged guests, and message the host first if you have a larger breed or multiple pets. Reedsburg is a great launchpad for dog-friendly adventures: Devil's Lake State Park allows leashed pets on designated trails and at a pet swim area on the south shore, and the 400 State Trail starts right in downtown Reedsburg and runs about 22 miles to Elroy with shady, dog-loving stretches. Pro tip: pack a collapsible water bowl, July highs near 80 degrees Fahrenheit can sneak up on pups on the quartzite bluffs.
dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/devilslakeCan the RV be delivered to my campground in Reedsburg?
Yes, RV delivery in Reedsburg is offered by many hosts, and it's hands-down the easiest way to start your trip, especially if you're a first-time renter. The host drives the RV to your campground, driveway, or event site, levels it, hooks up power and water, and walks you through every system before handing over the keys. Popular delivery destinations include Devil's Lake State Park (about 20 miles southeast), Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Warrens, and Wisconsin Dells KOA. Filter by Delivery on RVezy to see local options and fees. Pro tip: delivery to a state park site is a game-changer if you're nervous about backing a trailer into a wooded campsite.
dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/devilslake/recreation/campingHow far can I drive from Reedsburg, and what about mileage limits?
You have serious road trip range from Reedsburg, with Wisconsin Dells just about 17 miles up Highway 23, Madison about 60 miles southeast, Milwaukee around 130 miles, the Mississippi River bluffs at La Crosse roughly 90 miles west, and Door County about 220 miles northeast. Most Reedsburg hosts include a daily mileage allowance (typically 100 to 150 miles per day) with reasonable per-mile rates above that, and some listings even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, perfect for a longer Wisconsin loop. Mileage policy is listed clearly on every RVezy listing. Pro tip: if you are planning a big circle through Door County and the Apostle Islands, filter for unlimited-mileage rigs upfront and skip the math.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Reedsburg%2C%20WisconsinWhere should I stay in my RV near Reedsburg?
The best campgrounds near Reedsburg cover every style of RV camping. Devil's Lake State Park (about 20 miles southeast) offers more than 400 sites across Quartzite, Northern Lights, and Ice Age campgrounds, with electric hookups and a dump station at Quartzite, the best loop for larger RVs. Skillet Creek Campground sits about one mile from the park entrance with full-hookup sites. Fox Hill RV Park near Wisconsin Dells offers 20, 30, and 50-amp service plus sewer. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Warrens is a family favorite about 40 miles north. Pro tip: Devil's Lake books up to 11 months out, so reserve at wisconsin.goingtocamp.com the moment your dates open.
dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/devilslake/recreation/campingWhen is the best time for an RV trip from Reedsburg?
Late May through mid-October is prime season for RV camping in Reedsburg, with July and August averaging highs around 77 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit and comfortable evenings in the 60s, ideal for campfires along the Baraboo River. September and early October are the local insider's secret: crisp 60 to 70 degree days, fiery sugar maple foliage on the Baraboo Bluffs, and thinner crowds at Devil's Lake. Spring (April to May) is great for paddling but expect occasional rain. Winter RV camping is possible at Quartzite Campground year-round if you want a snowy adventure. Pro tip: book Labor Day or fall color weekends early, they're the best mix of weather and scenery.
forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=43.5325&lon=-90.0026I have never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?
Absolutely, your first time renting an RV is easier than most people expect in Reedsburg. Your host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, showing you how to operate the generator, water system, slide-outs, propane, and dump valves, and you can message them anytime during your trip with questions. Reedsburg's flat farmland and quiet county roads make it a relaxed place to get comfortable behind the wheel before tackling busier areas. Start with a smaller travel trailer or Class C motorhome rental in Reedsburg if you are new, and stick to nearby destinations like Mirror Lake State Park (about 15 miles) for your first night. Pro tip: do a parking-lot lap before you leave, your host will happily walk you through it.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if something goes wrong on the road?
You are never on your own. Every Reedsburg RV rental on RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and mechanical issues. If a slide-out will not retract at your Devil's Lake campsite or you get a flat on Highway 12, one call gets help dispatched. Your host is also just a message away for quick questions about the RV's systems, and RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap photos of the RV during your walkthrough and save your host's phone number and the roadside number to your phone before you pull out of the driveway.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Reedsburg RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, interstate travel is welcome on most Reedsburg rentals, and a Wisconsin road trip easily extends into Minnesota (the Twin Cities are about 230 miles northwest), Illinois (Chicago is 200 miles southeast), Iowa, or Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Cross-border travel to Canada may be allowed depending on the host and insurance, so message the host directly from the listing page to confirm and arrange documentation before booking. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. Popular RV road trips from Reedsburg include the Great River Road along the Mississippi and the Lake Superior Circle Tour. Pro tip: carry your passport for any Canadian border crossing, even kids need one.
cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/know-before-you-go/your-tripWhat kind of fuel mileage should I budget for a Reedsburg RV trip?
Plan smart and fuel won't surprise you. Class B campervans get around 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, Class A motorhomes typically pull 6 to 10 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle but usually drop it by 30 to 40 percent. Wisconsin's regular gas average has been hovering in the $3.40 to $4.20 range in recent months. For a typical Reedsburg-to-Devil's Lake-to-Wisconsin Dells weekend (about 60 miles total), budget $20 to $40 for fuel in a Class C. Pro tip: Wisconsin's beloved Kwik Trip chain is consistently 3 to 8 cents below the local average, and there are stations all along Highway 23 and Highway 12.
fueleconomy.gov/feg/gasprices/states/WI.shtmlHow far ahead should I book a campground near Reedsburg?
Book as early as you can: Wisconsin State Parks open reservations 11 months in advance through wisconsin.goingtocamp.com, and Devil's Lake's electric sites at Quartzite and Northern Lights fill within days of opening, especially for summer weekends and fall color. Call 1-888-947-2757 if you would rather book by phone. Private campgrounds like Skillet Creek, Fox Hill RV Park, and the Wisconsin Dells KOA generally take reservations 6 to 12 months out, with shoulder-season availability easier to grab. A vehicle admission pass is required at every Wisconsin state park. Pro tip: set up a notification alert for cancellation openings on the reservation site, plenty of sites free up just days before arrival.
dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/reservationsWhat are local driving conditions like around Reedsburg?
Driving an RV around Reedsburg is refreshingly stress-free. Highway 23, Highway 33, and the local county roads are flat to gently rolling, well-maintained, and rarely congested outside of the summer tourist rush in Wisconsin Dells. You will cross the Baraboo Range south of town with some moderate grades approaching Devil's Lake, but nothing that challenges a standard RV. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk, common across rural Sauk County, and be alert for sudden summer thunderstorms with high winds, plus snow and ice from late November through March. Pro tip: skip the busy Wisconsin Dells Parkway in a big rig and take Interstate 90/94 instead, it is smoother and far less hectic.
511wi.gov/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Reedsburg?
Reedsburg-area campgrounds offer a great mix of comfort and rustic charm. Devil's Lake's Quartzite Campground has electric hookups, modern flush restrooms, hot showers, and a dump station; the dump station is free for registered campers and $10 for unregistered RVs (passes from mid-October through mid-April are closed for freeze protection). Private parks like Fox Hill RV Park offer full hookups with 20, 30, and 50-amp service plus sewer. Potable water taps, fire rings, and picnic tables are standard. Pro tip: top off fresh water before you leave the Reedsburg city limits, the Kwik Trip on East Main Street and the Devil's Lake Quartzite fill station are both reliable, and you'll be set for two to three nights of off-grid bliss.
dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/devilslake/recreation/campingWhat's inside a typical Reedsburg RV rental?
Reedsburg motorhome rentals and travel trailers come better equipped than most first-timers expect. Standard features include sleeping for 2 to 8 people, a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control with furnace and air conditioning, and dinette seating that converts to extra beds. Many rigs include a generator for off-grid power, TV and Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awnings, and seatbelts for everyone riding. Wifi is occasional, so plan to use your phone hotspot. Pro tip: check listings with bigger fresh water tanks and stronger generators if you are heading to events in Reedsburg or summer concerts in Baraboo, they are built for boondocking.

Reedsburg hosts on RVezy offer plenty of helpful extras to round out your trip. Common add-ons include bedding and linen packages ($25 to $75), kitchen kits with pots and dishes ($25 to $50), camp chairs and outdoor mats, portable grills, generators, bike racks, and propane top-offs. Pickup is usually from the host's home in or near Reedsburg, with delivery available to area campgrounds for an additional fee based on distance. Mileage policies and pickup times are spelled out clearly on each listing, no surprises. Pro tip: ask the host about a Devil's Lake or Wisconsin Dells delivery package, many will bundle delivery, setup, and pickup for one flat rate that saves you a stressful first drive.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Reedsburg%2C%20WisconsinHow does the security deposit and payment work?
Payment on RVezy is straightforward and fully online: you pay through the secure platform when you book (no cash to the host), and your card is charged according to the schedule shown at checkout. A security deposit hold is placed on your card before pickup, typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV, and released after your trip once the host confirms the RV came back clean, on time, and undamaged. To avoid any deposit issues, do the pre-trip walkthrough carefully with your host, take time-stamped photos of the RV inside and out, empty the holding tanks before return, and refuel to the agreed level. Pro tip: keep your dump-station receipt from Devil's Lake or Baraboo as proof.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I rent an RV in Reedsburg in winter?
Yes, winter RV rental in Reedsburg is available and a genuinely scenic way to see Wisconsin under snow. Look for rigs listed as four-season with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and strong furnaces, message the host directly to confirm cold-weather readiness before booking. Quartzite Campground at Devil's Lake stays open year-round for winter camping (water service shuts off from roughly mid-October to mid-April), and the Ice Age National Scenic Trail offers stunning snowshoe routes right from the park. January lows average around 10 degrees Fahrenheit, so plan accordingly. Pro tip: book a delivered, pre-warmed RV parked at a private campground with full hookups so you skip winterizing headaches and walk into a cozy rig.
