Lindsey’s travel trailer was absolutely perfect. Easy to drive and maneuver with half-ton pickup, had everything inside that I imagine anyone would need, and the new queen mattress was way more comfortable than the standard ones these come with. Along with the convertible dining nook, the camper can comfortably sleep 4 adults. Also, Lindsey’s communication and responsiveness was top notch. 5 stars all around!

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Isleton?

A regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Isleton, CA. California does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement for any RV available on the RVezy platform, whether it's a nimble campervan or a 35-foot Class A motorhome. You'll need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking, so there's nothing extra to mail in or notarize. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home country license. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple the paperwork is, you can be booked in about 10 minutes.

What protection and roadside assistance is included with my Isleton RV rental?

Every RV rental in Isleton booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can cruise the Delta Loop with real peace of mind. You choose your protection tier at checkout (hosts do not set these options), and each plan covers physical damage up to its stated limit. If you get a flat on Highway 160 or your fridge acts up at Brannan Island, one phone call gets help dispatched for issues like tires, batteries, lockouts, or towing. It is a key reason first-time renters feel confident booking a motorhome rental in Isleton.

Can I cancel my Isleton RV booking if my plans change?

Yes. RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy, so the rules are the same across every listing whether you are renting a campervan in Isleton or a fifth wheel near Rio Vista. After booking there is a short grace period for a full refund, and after that your refund depends on how close you are to your trip start date. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or helps you rebook. Book your Cajun Festival or fishing weekend with confidence, then finalize the details.

Can I bring my dog on an Isleton RV trip?

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental in Isleton is easy to find: just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see listings that welcome dogs. The Delta is great with pups: Brannan Island State Recreation Area allows leashed dogs in developed campsites, and several private Delta Loop resorts market themselves as pet-friendly with riverside walking areas. Message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee (commonly $10 to $25 per night) and any size or breed limits. Your dog will love the levee walks at sunset.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Isleton?

Yes, RV delivery in Isleton is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who would rather skip driving a big rig down narrow levee roads. Many local hosts deliver and set up your motorhome or travel trailer at Brannan Island State Recreation Area, Park Delta Bay, or other Delta Loop campgrounds. They level the rig, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system. Use the Delivery filter when searching and message the host with your destination so they can quote the delivery fee, which is usually based on mileage from their location.

How far can I drive on a typical Isleton RV rental?

You've got plenty of range for an Isleton RV trip, hosts on RVezy set their own mileage policies, and many include 100 to 150 free miles per night, with some offering RV rental with unlimited mileage on weekly bookings. That's more than enough for the Delta: Sacramento is just 45 miles north, Napa wine country is about 55 miles west, San Francisco sits 70 miles away, and Lake Tahoe is roughly 145 miles east. Heading to Yosemite National Park? That's about 175 miles southeast via Highway 12 and 99. Pro tip: filter for unlimited mileage if you're planning a bigger loop, it saves the math at drop-off.

What are the best campgrounds near Isleton for an RV trip?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Isleton. Brannan Island State Recreation Area (just south of town on Highway 160) offers waterfront sites with water and electric hookups, a swimming beach, and a boat launch on Seven Mile Slough. Park Delta Bay on West Brannan Island Road is a Campendium award-winning resort with full hookups, a clubhouse, and grass sites along the San Joaquin River. Delta Shores Resort & Marina has nearly 200 sites with full hookups, a pool, and mini-golf. Lighthouse Marina & Resort offers full hookups on 32 pet-friendly acres, and Ko-Ket Resort on Isleton Road is a relaxed local favorite. Book Brannan Island through ReserveCalifornia up to 6 months ahead for summer weekends.

When is the best time of year for an Isleton RV trip?

Late April through mid-October is prime time for RV camping in Isleton, and the shoulder months are actually the sweet spot. Spring (April to early June) brings 65 to 80°F days, blooming pear orchards, and fewer crowds. Summer (June to August) is hot and dry with highs from 88 to 95°F, perfect for swimming and water skiing on the Delta. Fall (September to early November) cools to the mid-70s and is fantastic for fishing and sandhill crane watching. Winter is mild (45 to 60°F) but foggy, with the famous Delta tule fog rolling in, so most travelers prefer March through November. Insider tip: aim for Father's Day weekend to catch the iconic Isleton Cajun Festival.

I have never driven an RV before. Is Isleton a good place to start?

Yes, Isleton is one of the friendlier places in California for first time renting an RV. Highway 160 is a slow, scenic two-lane road along the levees with light traffic, and most Delta Loop campgrounds are flat with pull-through sites. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering hookups, dump procedures, slide-outs, and propane, so you are never figuring it out alone. If you are still nervous, book a host who offers delivery and setup so you walk into a ready-to-camp RV. Pro tip: start with a Class C motorhome or a travel trailer under 25 feet, which handles the narrow Delta roads with ease.

What happens if something goes wrong on the road near Isleton?

You are never on your own. Every RV rental in Isleton booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance: one call gets you help for flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, or mechanical breakdowns anywhere in the Delta. For issues with the RV itself (AC, fridge, or slide-out trouble), your host is your first call and most respond quickly since they know their rig inside out. RVezy support is also reachable before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: save the roadside number to your phone before you leave town, cell service is solid along Highway 160 but can dip on remote islands like Andrus or Tyler.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detail

Can I take my Isleton RV rental on a longer road trip through California?

Yes, an RV road trip from Isleton opens up some of California's best scenery. Popular routes include heading east about 145 miles to Lake Tahoe for alpine camping, south roughly 170 miles to Yosemite National Park via Highways 12 and 120, west 70 miles into San Francisco and the Pacific Coast, or north toward Mendocino wine country. Cross-state travel within the US is allowed on RVezy. Travel into Mexico is not permitted because insurance does not extend across that border. If you would like to dip into Oregon or Nevada, confirm with your host and double-check your mileage allotment before you roll.

What kind of fuel mileage should I expect, and where can I fill up near Isleton?

Plan for realistic numbers and you'll budget like a pro. Class B campervans get around 18 to 22 mpg, Class C motorhomes average 10 to 14 mpg, and Class A rigs typically pull 7 to 10 mpg. Travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. California gas prices run higher than the national average, expect roughly $4.50 to $5.20 per gallon in the Delta as of 2026. There are fuel stations in Isleton on Highway 160, in Rio Vista about 7 miles south, and a larger truck-friendly stop at the Highway 12/I-5 junction near Lodi. Pro tip: fill up in Lodi or Galt rather than the smaller Delta towns, prices drop noticeably along the I-5 corridor.

How far ahead should I book a campground in the Isleton area?

For the best campgrounds near Isleton, earlier is better, but you've got options either way. Brannan Island State Recreation Area accepts reservations through ReserveCalifornia up to 6 months in advance and books out fast for summer weekends, Father's Day (Cajun Festival), and Memorial Day. Private resorts like Park Delta Bay, Delta Shores Resort & Marina, and Lighthouse Marina & Resort take reservations directly through their websites or by phone, aim for 2 to 3 months ahead in peak season. Midweek and shoulder-season trips can often be booked just a week out. Insider tip: if you're flexible, Tuesday through Thursday arrivals almost always have availability, even at the most popular Delta Loop resorts.
parks.ca.gov/?page_id=487

What are driving conditions like around Isleton?

Driving around Isleton is laid-back, but the Delta has a few quirks worth knowing. Highway 160 hugs the top of the levees, so it's a narrow, winding two-lane road with the river on one side, beautiful, but take it slow in anything over 25 feet. Several drawbridges (the Isleton Bridge over the Sacramento River, the Three Mile Slough Bridge) open for boat traffic, so build a few extra minutes into your timing. Tule fog can be thick on winter mornings, December through February, so plan to drive midday in winter. Summer is dry and clear with calm winds in the morning, breezier afternoons. Pro tip: avoid driving the levee roads at night until you're comfortable with the rig.
quickmap.dot.ca.gov/

What amenities will I find at Isleton-area campgrounds?

Delta campgrounds are well equipped for a comfortable stay. Full-hookup resorts like Park Delta Bay, Delta Shores Resort & Marina, and Lighthouse Marina & Resort provide 30/50 amp electric, fresh water, sewer at the site, free Wi-Fi, hot showers, laundry, swimming pools, and boat launches. Brannan Island State Recreation Area offers water and electric (no sewer at most sites) plus a dump station, fire rings, picnic tables, and flush restrooms. Potable water fills are easy to find at all the major resorts and at the Brannan Island dump station. Pro tip: if you're staying at a state park site without a sewer hookup, swing by the Brannan Island dump station on your way out, it's $10 for non-registered campers and saves a stop.
parks.ca.gov/?page_id=487

What features and amenities come standard in Isleton RV rentals?

Most RVs you will find on RVezy in the Isleton area come fully equipped for Delta living. Expect a queen or king bed, a dinette or sofa that converts to extra sleeping, a kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, roof air conditioning (essential for Delta summers), a furnace, and a propane water heater. Many include a generator, awning, and outdoor kitchen, perfect for evenings watching the boats go by. Wi-Fi hotspots, bike racks, kayak racks, camp chairs, and grills are common add-ons hosts offer for a small daily fee. Pro tip: ask about a screen room or bug-screen awning, Delta evenings can bring mosquitoes near the marshes.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Isleton%2C%20California

What add-ons and pickup options should I expect when booking?

Hosts on RVezy in Isleton offer lots of flexibility to customize your trip. Common add-ons include linen and kitchen packages ($30 to $75), generator use (often a few dollars per hour beyond included hours), bike racks, kayaks and SUP boards (a big hit on the Delta sloughs), portable BBQs, and fishing gear. Pickup is typically at the host's home or storage lot, but delivery to Brannan Island, Park Delta Bay, or other Delta Loop campgrounds is widely offered and quoted by mileage. Mileage policies vary by host (often 100 to 150 free miles per night), and you can filter for unlimited-mileage listings. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a linen package, you arrive, unlock the door, and you are camping.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Isleton%2C%20California

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host in cash. Your trip total (rental, fees, taxes, protection plan) is charged when the host accepts your booking. A separate refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card before the trip, set by the host and typically a few hundred to about $1,500 depending on the RV, and it is released after drop-off assuming no damage or extra cleaning. To avoid issues: take photos at pickup and drop-off, return the RV with the same fuel and propane level, follow the dump-tank requirements in your contract, and stay under your mileage cap.

Is Isleton a good base for a family RV trip?

Isleton is a hidden gem for a family RV trip, safe small-town vibes, tons of water activities, and short drives to bigger attractions. Kids love swimming at Brannan Island's beach, fishing for catfish and striped bass off the piers, paddling sloughs in kayaks, and the mini-golf and pool at Delta Shores Resort & Marina. The historic Old Town Isleton (Crawdad Town USA) has ice cream shops, antique stores, and the Isleton Museum, all walkable. Day-trip options keep older kids happy: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is 35 miles away, the California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento is 45 miles, and San Francisco is 70 miles. Pro tip: time your trip for the Cajun Festival on Father's Day weekend, live music, crawdads, and parades for everyone.
