2022 Grand Design Travel Trailer
I am not a seasoned camper by any means. However I have had the opportunity to rent a few campers over the last 2 seasons. This camper has been my favorite. It was extremely spacious, clean and fully equipped. We were able to cook and host dinner for 4 large adults without climbing all over one another in the camper during the rainy evenings. Brooklyn provided a full white glove service with delivery, setup, pickup and even a "how to" session to answer my newbie questions. I could totally get used to camping in this rig. I will be starring this camper in the hopes to rent it again in the future. Thank you Brooklyn!

When the phrase “above and beyond” was created , Shiloh was who they had in mind. Not only did Shiloh rent us his RV for a really important family reunion in Aurora (on the other side of the mountain range), he rented us his truck as well because our vehicle wouldn’t haul it. He truly went above and beyond to accommodate our trip, making sure we had everything we needed and checked in on us daily to make sure all was well. You are in good hands booking with him, he is a man of his word and I would be happy to business with him again. Thanks again Shiloh!!

Booking your RV rental in Columbine is low-risk because RVezy, not the host, sets and manages the cancellation policy. Yes, RV delivery in Columbine is widely available and it is the easiest way to start your trip, especially if it is your first time renting an RV. When is the best time of year for a Columbine RV trip?

Late May through mid-October is the sweet spot for RV camping in Columbine, with daytime highs in the 70s to high 80s and cool, comfortable nights in the 50s. July and August are peak season at Chatfield and Cherry Creek State Parks, when reservoirs are warmest for swimming and paddleboarding. September is the local insider favorite: golden aspens turn the Front Range foothills electric yellow, crowds thin out, and daytime temps hover in the comfortable 65 to 75 degree range. The Denver metro area averages around 55 inches of snow annually, so winter trips are possible but limited mostly to Chatfield. Pro tip: book a Columbine RV trip for the third week of September to catch peak aspen color along Guanella Pass.

I've never driven an RV before, will I be okay?

You'll do great, and Columbine is honestly one of the best places in Colorado to start. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering the propane, water, slide-outs, leveling, and dump procedures, so you're never left guessing. For first-time renters, a Class C motorhome or campervan rental in Columbine is easier to handle than a big Class A, and many local hosts will deliver to your site at Chatfield so you skip city driving entirely. Stick to C-470 and US-285 rather than I-70 through the mountains until you're comfortable. Pro tip: take a slow practice loop around the wide streets of Columbine Hills before merging onto Wadsworth Boulevard, you'll feel pro by mile two.

What if something goes wrong with the RV on my trip?

You are never alone on the road. Every RV rental in Columbine through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering tire issues, lockouts, dead batteries, and tows, whether you are parked at Chatfield, climbing Guanella Pass, or stuck in I-25 traffic near Castle Rock. Your host is also a direct message away for quick questions about appliances, slides, or generators. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip through the Help Center. Pro tip: snap photos of the dashboard warning lights and any leaks before calling, it speeds up roadside dispatch and makes troubleshooting with your host much faster.

Can I take the RV to Wyoming, Utah, or other states from Columbine?

Yes, cross-state RV road trips from Columbine are popular and straightforward. Most hosts allow travel throughout the continental United States, with favorites being Moab, Utah (about 6 hours west via I-70), Grand Teton and Yellowstone (about 8 to 9 hours north), Santa Fe, New Mexico (about 6 hours south), and the Black Hills of South Dakota (about 6.5 hours northeast). Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Cross-border trips to Canada may be possible with specific hosts, just message before booking to confirm. Pro tip: I-70 through Glenwood Canyon is stunning but watch the weather, summer thunderstorms can close the canyon quickly.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Columbine RV trip?

Fuel is usually the second-biggest line item after the rental itself, but it's easy to plan for. Class C motorhomes in this size class average 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG), while campervans can hit 16 to 20 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. As of recent months, gas in the Columbine and Littleton area runs around the Colorado state average, with stations along South Wadsworth Boulevard and South Kipling Parkway typically a bit cheaper than mountain stations in Idaho Springs or Frisco. For a 4-day, 400-mile Columbine RV trip in a Class C, budget roughly $150 to $200 for fuel. Pro tip: fill up at the Costco or King Soopers near Coalmine Avenue before heading west, mountain gas can be 50 cents more per gallon.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Columbine?

Book early and you will get your pick, especially at Chatfield State Park, which is the closest campground to Columbine and one of Colorado's most popular. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) opens reservations six months ahead through cpwshop.com. For summer weekends and any holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day), book the moment your dates open. Cherry Creek State Park follows the same six-month CPW system. For private parks like Jellystone Park at Larkspur, 2 to 4 months out is usually plenty. Pro tip: if Chatfield is sold out, set up a cancellation alert, sites open up daily as plans change, and weekday stays (Sunday through Wednesday) are far easier to snag.

What are driving conditions like around Columbine and the foothills?

Columbine driving is mostly easy suburban roads with quick access to the mountains via C-470, but a few local tips will set you up for success. Wadsworth Boulevard, Kipling Parkway, and South Pierce Street are wide and RV-friendly. C-470 wraps the south metro and connects you to I-70 west or I-25 south without crossing downtown Denver, a huge win in an RV. Mountain driving on US-285 toward Conifer or I-70 toward Idaho Springs involves steep grades; use lower gears on descents and watch for sudden afternoon thunderstorms June through August. Winter brings ice, especially on shaded foothills curves. Pro tip: avoid I-70 west on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings, ski traffic crawls and that's no fun in a 25-foot rig.

What amenities and hookups will I find at campgrounds near Columbine?

Front Range campgrounds near Columbine are well-equipped for a comfortable RV stay. Chatfield State Park has full-hookup sites (water, sewer, 30/50-amp electric), flush toilets, hot showers, laundry, a sanitary dump station, and potable water fill. Cherry Creek State Park offers electric hookups with shared dump stations and showers. Bear Creek Lake Park's campgrounds have water and restrooms but no individual sewer. Private parks like Jellystone Larkspur and Dakota Ridge RV Park in Golden offer full hookups plus Wi-Fi and pools. Pro tip: bring a water pressure regulator (40 to 50 psi), some Front Range parks run high pressure that can damage RV plumbing.

What is included inside the RVs available in Columbine?

Columbine RV rentals come loaded with the comforts of home. Expect a queen or king bed, convertible dinette or bunks for the kids, a kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, and sink, a wet or dry bathroom with shower and toilet, roof air conditioning, and a furnace, key for those crisp Colorado nights when temps drop into the 40s even in summer. Many motorhome rentals in Columbine also include a generator, outdoor speakers, awning, and a TV. Some hosts add Wi-Fi hotspots, solar panels, and bike racks. Every motorhome has seatbelts for travel, confirm sleeping versus seatbelt count on the listing if you have a larger group. Pro tip: ask the host about an electric heated mattress pad, it is a game-changer for fall trips to Aspen or Crested Butte.

What add-ons and extras can I get with my Columbine RV rental?

Hosts offer a great mix of add-ons to customize your Columbine RV trip. Common extras include camping chairs and tables, bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, generators, propane fills, bike racks, kayak or paddleboard mounts (perfect for Chatfield Reservoir), portable Wi-Fi, and pet packages. Many hosts in Littleton and Ken Caryl offer delivery and setup, dump and refill service so you skip the dump station on return, and even pre-stocked groceries. Pickup and dropoff are typically at the host's home, with set windows you confirm in messages. Mileage policies vary by host, with daily allowances ranging from around 100 miles to unlimited. Pro tip: bundle delivery plus dump service for the most stress-free first-time RV experience.

How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and fully handled through RVezy, never directly with the host, which keeps everything secure. You will pay the rental cost, RVezy service fee, and chosen protection plan at booking using a credit or debit card. A refundable security deposit is held (not charged) on your card before the trip starts, with amounts varying by RV value, and it is released after the trip assuming no damage or policy violations. To avoid issues, do a thorough walkaround with your host at pickup, take date-stamped photos, return the RV with the same fuel and propane levels, and empty the tanks if required. Pro tip: keep all receipts (fuel, dump, propane) in case any questions come up during checkout in Columbine.
