2021 Thor Motor Coach Class C
The owners of the RV were kind and honest people. They were generous enough to be super flexible with the pickup and drop off times which was extremely helpful (i'm sure they cant do this for EVERYBODY, but they did for me). The RV was clean and everything worked well! Overall a great experience, we would definitely rent from them again in the future.

Perfect little unit for road trips and camping! The van was comfortable and reliable. The van is well equipped woth utensils, dishes and tools, just load up the fridge and go anywhere! The solar powered battery was always charged and had plenty of power. Our host was welcoming and very helpful, everything worked as expected with zero issues. AC blows cold and the fridge works great! Thanks Kailen! We would camp with your van again in a heartbeat!

2020 Coleman Travel Trailer
Justin was a great host. He took the time to walk me through setup of the camper so I was comfortable with the operation during towing as well as the power accessories, lighting, refrigerator/freezer, speakers and bathroom. Justin also had the camper fully stocked with clean bedding, kitchen tools, toilet paper and even some games. We will definitely reserve with Justin in the future.

Drew and Nick were both awesome to work with. Drew handled the booking and coordination. Nick handled the drop off, setup, pickup, and breakdown. Nick was an expert and absolutely went above and beyond to make sure we were completely comfortable. Communication on all sides was superb. The camper was comfortable with great amenities. We would 100% recommend this rental to anyone looking to have an excellent Colorado adventure.

Nice RV. Met most of our requirements for dry (boondocking) camping. The Blackstone Grill was a nice touch and the Onan generator was a major plus! Appreciated the use of the anti-sway hitch. Would rent again.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Lakewood, CO
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Lakewood, CO?
RV rental in Lakewood is one of the most affordable ways to explore Colorado's Front Range and Rockies. On RVezy, towable trailers typically average around $125 to $175 per night and motorhomes average about $200 to $275 per night, with many hosts offering 10 to 20 percent discounts on weekly or monthly stays. To find a cheap RV rental in Lakewood, book midweek, target shoulder seasons (late April to early June, or September to October), and use the price filter to compare a campervan rental in Lakewood with a larger Class C. Pro tip: bundling a host's delivery option can save you fuel money on shorter trips up to Red Rocks or Bear Creek Lake Park.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Lakewood,ColoradoWhat kind of driver's license do I need to rent an RV in Lakewood?
Good news: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Lakewood. Colorado's standard Class C license covers any two-axle vehicle and lets you tow a trailer under 10,000 pounds, which covers virtually every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, and travel trailer on RVezy. No CDL, no special endorsement, no Colorado residency required, just bring the license you already have. All RVezy guests must be 25 or older, and you'll quickly verify your ID through the platform when you book. Visiting from abroad? Pair your home license with an International Driving Permit and you're set to roll out toward the Rockies.
dmv.colorado.gov/cdl-general-informationIs my RV rental in Lakewood protected if something goes wrong?
Yes, every RV rental in Lakewood, CO booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance included automatically. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV during your trip, so you can drive up I-70 toward Idaho Springs or down to Chatfield State Park with peace of mind. During checkout, you choose your level of coverage (not the host), so you can dial the protection up or down based on your comfort. Plus, you can message your host anytime and tap RVezy support if you hit a snag.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Lakewood RV rental?
Booking is low-risk, so you can lock in your Lakewood RV trip with confidence. RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy across the platform, and it includes a money-back grace period right after you book so first-time renters have breathing room to plan. After that window, refunds depend on how far out from your trip you cancel. If a host ever needs to cancel on you, RVezy will refund you or provide travel credits. Pro tip: book early for July and August (peak season around Red Rocks and Rocky Mountain National Park), then finalize your route once weather forecasts firm up.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Lakewood?
Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental in Lakewood is easy to find on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you'll see listings whose hosts welcome four-legged co-pilots, often with no extra cleaning fee for well-behaved pups. Lakewood is a dream for dogs: William F. Hayden Park on Green Mountain has miles of off-leash hiking with Front Range views, Bear Creek Lake Park has dog-friendly trails right inside the city, and Bear Creek Dog Park near Morrison is a local favorite. Most Front Range campgrounds, including Bear Creek Lake and Chatfield State Park, allow leashed dogs on roads and developed areas. Bring a tie-out, water bowl, and waste bags and your trip is set.
lakewood.org/Government/Departments/Community-Resources/Parks-Forestry-and-Open-SpaceCan the RV be delivered to my campsite or address in Lakewood?
Yes, RV delivery in Lakewood is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers nervous about driving a motorhome rental in Lakewood through Denver-metro traffic. Use the Delivery filter and you'll see hosts who will bring the RV straight to Bear Creek Lake Park, Chatfield State Park, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, or even your own driveway. They'll level it, hook it up, walk you through every system, and pick it up at the end, so all you do is show up with groceries and your hiking boots. Delivery fees are usually charged per mile, so closer campgrounds (within 30 minutes of Lakewood) keep the price down.
cpw.state.co.us/parks/bear-creek-lakeHow far can I drive on a typical Lakewood RV trip?
You can go just about anywhere in the Rockies from Lakewood, and many RVezy hosts offer generous mileage, with some even featuring RV rental with unlimited mileage. From Lakewood you're about 20 minutes to Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 30 minutes to Golden Gate Canyon State Park, 75 minutes to Idaho Springs, 90 minutes to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, 2 hours to Breckenridge, and roughly 4 hours to Great Sand Dunes National Park. If your host charges a per-mile rate over the included allowance, just message them before booking to add extra miles upfront, it's usually cheaper than paying after the trip.
nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/directions.htmWhere are the best campgrounds near Lakewood, CO?
You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Lakewood. Bear Creek Lake Park's Indian Paintbrush Campground sits inside Lakewood city limits with electric hookups and is walking distance to a swim beach. Chatfield State Park Campground in Littleton (about 20 minutes south) has full-hookup sites and is open year-round. Dakota Ridge RV Park in Golden offers full hookups with quick access to the foothills, and Clear Creek RV Park in Golden puts you right on the creek trail system. For a Rocky Mountain feel, Golden Gate Canyon State Park is 45 minutes northwest with Reverend's Ridge Campground offering full hookups at 9,000 feet elevation.
cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/ChatfieldWhen is the best time to rent an RV in Lakewood?
Late May through September is prime time for an RV trip from Lakewood, with daytime highs in the 75 to 90 degree range and 245 sunny days a year to work with. July is the warmest month (average highs near 87 degrees) and the busiest, so book early. September and early October are the local insider's pick: warm days in the 70s, cool nights perfect for campfires, golden aspens in the high country, and far fewer crowds at Rocky Mountain National Park. Spring (April to May) is the wettest stretch and can deliver surprise snow above 7,000 feet, so flexibility is your friend.
weather.gov/bou/I've never rented an RV before, will I be able to handle it?
You'll be fine, first time renting an RV is exactly what RVezy is built for. Every host gives a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, hookups, the water system, and the propane stove, so you're not Googling things in a campground at dusk. For extra confidence on your Lakewood RV trip, choose a Class B campervan or a smaller Class C (22 to 25 feet) for your first run, they drive much like a large SUV and fit easily in most Front Range campgrounds. Pro tip: do a practice loop around the quiet streets of Belmar or Green Mountain before merging onto I-70 toward the mountains.
codot.gov/travelWhat happens if my RV breaks down in the mountains?
You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, covering things like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing, exactly the kind of help you want if you're parked on a switchback near Loveland Pass or Trail Ridge Road. Step one is always to pull over safely, then call the roadside number in your RVezy booking confirmation. You can also message your host directly through the app, since they know their RV best. Cell coverage along I-70 and US-285 is solid, and Lakewood's central location means a tow or service truck is rarely far away.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Lakewood RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, your RV rental Colorado adventure can absolutely cross state lines. Popular RV road trips from Lakewood include Moab and Arches National Park (about 5.5 hours west on I-70), Yellowstone (8 hours north through Wyoming), Mount Rushmore in South Dakota (about 6 hours), and Santa Fe (5.5 hours south). Most hosts welcome interstate travel, just confirm the route in a quick message before booking. Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and insurance, so ask before you book. One firm rule: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because protection coverage doesn't apply south of the border.
nps.gov/arch/planyourvisit/directions.htmHow much should I budget for fuel on a Lakewood RV trip?
Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, but it's easy to plan for. Class B campervans get roughly 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and larger Class A motorhomes typically run 6 to 10 MPG. Colorado gas prices tend to sit slightly below the national average, and you'll find the cheapest fuel at Costco in Lakewood off Colorado Mills Parkway or Sam's Club on West Colfax. Plan to top off in Lakewood before climbing west on I-70, mountain stations in Idaho Springs and Georgetown run 30 to 60 cents more per gallon. Diesel pumps for larger rigs are easy to find at the Loaf 'N Jug on Wadsworth.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Lakewood?
Book early and your trip will go smoothly. Colorado State Parks (including Chatfield, Bear Creek Lake, and Golden Gate Canyon) open reservations 6 months in advance through CPW Direct, and summer weekends, holidays, and Red Rocks concert nights sell out within hours of opening. National forest campgrounds in Arapaho and Roosevelt forests open 6 months out on Recreation.gov. For July and August trips, lock your sites the moment the window opens. Local insider tip: midweek Tuesday through Thursday sites are far easier to grab, and Bear Creek Lake Park's Indian Paintbrush Campground is one of the only options literally inside Lakewood, so reserve it first.
cpw.state.co.us/buyapply/Pages/Camping.aspxWhat are the driving conditions like around Lakewood?
Lakewood sits at the edge of Denver-metro and the Rocky Mountain foothills, so you get the best of both worlds with a few things to plan around. I-70 westbound is the main route to the mountains and is busiest Friday afternoons and Sunday afternoons, leave at sunrise to dodge ski and weekend traffic. Watch for low clearances on 6th Avenue and downtown Denver exits if you're in a taller Class A or C motorhome. Mountain passes like Loveland (11,990 feet) can see snow as early as September, so check CDOT's COtrip site before heading up. Pro tip: many hosts deliver to your campground specifically so you can skip the city driving altogether.
codot.gov/travel/scenic-bywaysWhat amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Lakewood?
Front Range campgrounds are well equipped. Most state parks (Chatfield, Bear Creek Lake, Cherry Creek) offer electric and water hookups, modern restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers, dump stations, and potable water fill stations. Private parks like Dakota Ridge RV Park and Clear Creek RV Park add full sewer hookups, laundry, and Wi-Fi. National forest campgrounds around Golden Gate Canyon and Idaho Springs lean more rustic with vault toilets and no hookups but offer unbeatable scenery. Free dump stations are available at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds and at most state parks for a small fee. Local insider tip: top off freshwater in Lakewood before heading into the high country, water access gets sparse above 9,000 feet.
cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/Pages/Camping.aspxWhat's included inside a typical Lakewood RV rental?
You'll be impressed by how loaded up most Lakewood RV rentals are. Standard features across motorhomes and trailers on RVezy include a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with toilet and shower, sleeping for 2 to 8 people, climate control with both AC and furnace (essential for cool Colorado nights), a dinette, and seatbelted seats for travel. Many also include a TV, indoor and outdoor speakers, a generator or solar setup for boondocking, and outdoor camp chairs. Listings spell out everything in the amenities section, and if you're missing something like a coffee maker or bedding, just message the host. Many even include linens, kitchenware, and starter propane for free.
nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/camping.htmWhat add-ons and options can I get with my Lakewood RV rental?
Hosts offer some great add-ons to customize your trip. Common options for an RV rental in Lakewood, CO include camping chairs and tables, bike racks, kid and pet bundles, kitchen kits, linens and towels, portable grills, generators, and extra miles or generator hours. Pickup and drop-off are usually at the host's home in Lakewood, Golden, Wheat Ridge, or Arvada, and most are happy to set a specific time window. Mileage policies vary, expect 100 to 150 free miles per night with some hosts offering unlimited mileage for longer trips. Local pro tip: ask your host to throw in a Colorado State Parks day pass since many parks charge separate entrance fees.
cpw.state.co.us/buyapply/Pages/ParksPass.aspxHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and secure, everything runs through RVezy's platform, so you never hand a host cash or a check. You'll pay for the rental plus the protection plan you select at the time of booking using a credit or debit card. A refundable security deposit is placed on your card separately before your trip starts and released after drop-off if the RV comes back in the same condition it left. To avoid issues, take date-stamped photos at pickup and drop-off, follow the mileage and generator limits in your agreement, return the RV with the tanks as agreed, and clean up the interior. That's pretty much it, your Lakewood RV trip is just a few clicks away.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I rent an RV in Lakewood during winter for ski trips?
Yes, winter RVing from Lakewood is a fantastic and underrated way to hit the slopes. Use RVezy's filter to find four-season RVs with heated and enclosed tanks, a strong furnace, and shore power capability, these are built for Colorado cold (Lakewood winter lows average around 20 degrees, with mountain campgrounds much colder). Year-round options include Dakota Ridge RV Park in Golden and Chatfield State Park's winter loop with electric hookups. From there, Loveland Ski Area is about an hour, Keystone and Breckenridge around 90 minutes, and Winter Park about 80 minutes. Local insider tip: park with electric hookups so your furnace can run all night without draining the house battery.
