The RV was fantastic and Josh was a great host! We were his first booking and you never would’ve known. He was super thorough in the walk-around going through the RV and the intricacies of the truck (it has air brakes!). Once on the road, it was super easy to drive, if you can say that about a 36’ Super C! The air ride seat made it really comfy and the adaptive cruise made it super easy to navigate from the driver side. And the kids and wife loved the onboard generator to watch TV, heat up some food, use the restroom, and even sleep while en route to our destination. When it’s time for another adventure, we’ll definitely be reaching out to Josh to rent again! Highly recommend Josh and his RV.

This was a wonderful experience. We camped in beach areas as well as wooded by a lake and this van was comfortable, reliable and REALLY easy to drive. We went to Atlanta, also, to the aquarium and navigating the city was easy as pie in this thing. The owners are INCREDIBLY nice and the communication is some of the best I’ve ever seen across things like this app, AirBnB, etc. Great people, great van, great experience.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Kennesaw, GA

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Kennesaw, and how can I save?

RV rental in Kennesaw is more affordable than most travelers expect. Travel trailers often start around $75 to $125 per night, campervans land in the $125 to $200 range, and larger Class A or Class C motorhomes typically run $175 to $325 per night. What license do I need to rent an RV in Kennesaw, Georgia?

Good news, a regular Class C Georgia driver's license (or your equivalent home-state or home-country license) is all you need to rent an RV in Kennesaw. The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) classifies motorhomes used for personal recreation as non-commercial, so no Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement is required regardless of the rig's size. To book on RVezy, you'll need to be 25 or older and complete a quick ID verification through the platform, which usually takes just a few minutes. International visitors should bring their home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) for easy roadside checks. That's it, no test, no extra paperwork, just pick up and go.

Am I protected if something goes wrong on my Kennesaw RV trip?

Yes, every RVezy booking in Kennesaw includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit I-75 with real peace of mind. What happens if I need to cancel my Kennesaw RV rental?

Booking is low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every reservation (not individual hosts), and it includes a money-back grace period after you book so you can lock in dates with confidence. The exact refund window depends on how far in advance of your trip start date you cancel, and there are accommodations for unexpected events. If plans shift, just contact RVezy support before your trip start and they will handle the process. If your host needs to cancel, RVezy will refund you or help you rebook. Pro tip: book early for popular weekends like the Big Shanty Festival in April, you will have the most flexibility to adjust later.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or home in Kennesaw?

Yes, RV delivery Kennesaw is one of the most popular options on the platform, especially for first-timers. Many hosts will drive the RV directly to your campground, driveway, or even a tailgate spot near Kennesaw State University, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. This is a game-changer if you are nervous about towing a travel trailer through Cobb County traffic or backing into a tight site at Red Top Mountain. Use the Delivery filter when you search to see which Kennesaw motorhome rental and trailer hosts offer it, plus their delivery radius and any mileage fee. Pro tip: pair delivery with a lakeside spot at Lake Allatoona for a stress-free first trip.

How far can I drive on a Kennesaw RV trip, and how does mileage work?

You can go anywhere your time and tank allow. Kennesaw is one of the best launch pads in the Southeast for an RV road trip. Most hosts include a daily mileage allowance (commonly 100 to 150 free miles per day) with a small per-mile fee after that, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, just use the listing filters to find it. From Kennesaw you are about 90 miles south of the Blue Ridge Mountains, 110 miles from Helen, 250 miles from Savannah, 120 miles from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and about 200 miles from Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Pro tip: map your route first, then pick the mileage plan that matches, it almost always beats paying overage fees.

Where are the best campgrounds near Kennesaw to park my RV?

You're spoiled for choice, the best campgrounds near Kennesaw are all within a 30-minute drive. Red Top Mountain State Park (about 18 miles north on Lake Allatoona) offers 92 lakefront sites with water and electric hookups. McKinney Campground, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park on the west side of Lake Allatoona, is famous for waterfront sites and a swim beach. Atlanta West Campground in nearby Austell has full hookups and is the closest full-service RV park to downtown Atlanta. For a quieter pick, Payne Campground and Clark Creek North (both Corps of Engineers parks on Allatoona) are local favorites. Pro tip: lakefront sites at Red Top book up months ahead for summer weekends, so reserve early through the Georgia State Parks system.

When is the best time of year for RV camping in Kennesaw?

Kennesaw is a true three-and-a-half season RV destination, and the sweet spots are mid-March through May and mid-September through early November. Spring brings dogwoods, redbuds, and highs in the 65 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit range, perfect for hiking Kennesaw Mountain. Fall delivers crisp 60 to 75 degree days, gorgeous color along the Chattahoochee, and far fewer thunderstorms. Summer (June through August) gets hot and humid with highs near 88 to 90 degrees and afternoon storms, so look for shaded lakeside campgrounds and rigs with strong air conditioning. Winters are mild (highs in the low 50s, lows around freezing), which means RV camping Kennesaw is genuinely a year-round option. Pro tip: October weekends are pure magic, book at least 60 days out.

I've never rented an RV before, will I be okay driving it in Kennesaw?

You've got this, first time renting an RV is easier than most people imagine, and Kennesaw is a great place to start. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, water, propane, and the dump valves, and you can text them anytime during your trip. Most first-timers go for a Class C motorhome or a smaller travel trailer because they handle a lot like a large pickup. From Kennesaw, you can stay off the busiest Atlanta highways by heading north on I-75 to Cartersville or taking US-41 to Lake Allatoona, both are easy, low-traffic routes. Pro tip: do a short shakedown night at Red Top Mountain before any longer trip, you'll feel like a pro by morning.

Can I take a Kennesaw RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, most Kennesaw hosts welcome interstate travel, which is part of what makes a Kennesaw RV trip so fun. Popular cross-state routes include heading north into Tennessee for Chattanooga and the Great Smoky Mountains, west into Alabama for Gulf Shores, east to South Carolina's Hilton Head, or south to Florida's Gulf Coast. Travel into Canada may also be allowed depending on the host and the protection plan coverage, so confirm with the host before booking if a cross-border trip is on your list. One important note: travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance and protection coverage do not extend there. Pro tip: a 7-day loop from Kennesaw to Asheville and back is a perennial favorite.

What should I budget for fuel on an RV rental Georgia trip from Kennesaw?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, but it's easy to plan for. Most Class C motorhomes you'll rent in Kennesaw average 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG), campervans get 16 to 20 MPG, and a truck towing a travel trailer typically lands at 9 to 13 MPG. Georgia gas prices generally run a bit below the national average, and you'll find plenty of large-rig-friendly stations along I-75 and I-575 (try the Pilot, Love's, and RaceTrac near exits 277 and 278). For a 300-mile weekend loop in a Class C, budget roughly $100 to $150 in fuel. Pro tip: download GasBuddy and the iExit app before you leave, easy savings every fill-up.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Kennesaw?

For the best sites, book as early as you can. Georgia State Parks like Red Top Mountain accept reservations up to 13 months in advance through the official Georgia State Parks reservation system at gastateparks.org. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds around Lake Allatoona (McKinney, Payne, Clark Creek North, Victoria) book through Recreation.gov up to six months out, and summer holiday weekends fill within minutes of opening. Private RV parks like Atlanta West Campground are usually easier to grab on shorter notice. Pro tip: for a Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day lakefront site, set a calendar reminder for exactly six months before your arrival date and book the moment the window opens.
recreation.gov/camping/gateways/2725

What's driving an RV like around Kennesaw and metro Atlanta?

Honestly, it's very manageable if you plan around rush hour. Kennesaw sits on I-75 about 25 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta, so the smart move is to avoid the southbound interstate from 7 to 9 a.m. and northbound from 4 to 7 p.m. on weekdays. Once you're north of Kennesaw, traffic lightens up quickly and the rolling Piedmont terrain is easy on big rigs. Watch for the 13-foot 6-inch bridge clearances on older state routes and stick to truck-friendly fuel stops near I-75 exits. Summer afternoon thunderstorms can be intense but usually pass quickly. Pro tip: if city driving worries you, book delivery and let the host handle the metro stretch entirely.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Kennesaw?

Kennesaw-area campgrounds are well-equipped, especially the Lake Allatoona Corps of Engineers parks and Georgia State Parks. Most sites at Red Top Mountain State Park offer 30/50 amp electric and water hookups, with a central dump station and modern bathhouses with hot showers. McKinney and Payne Campgrounds on Lake Allatoona have similar electric and water setups, lake access, and dump stations on-site. For full hookups including sewer, head to Atlanta West Campground in Austell or Allatoona Landing Marine Resort, both have laundry, Wi-Fi, and pull-thru sites for larger rigs. Potable water fill stations are available at every developed campground. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot fresh water hose and a 30-to-50 amp adapter, those two items solve 90 percent of hookup surprises.

What's inside the RVs I can rent in Kennesaw?

Most rentals on RVezy come fully equipped and trip-ready, you really just need to bring food, clothes, and bedding (and sometimes not even that). Expect a queen or king bed plus convertible dinette and sofa sleepers, a full kitchen with fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with a toilet and shower, roof air conditioning, furnace heat, and a 12-volt or shore-power system. Many Kennesaw motorhome rental listings also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor speakers, and either onboard or portable Wi-Fi (great for working remotely from a Lake Allatoona overlook). Generators are common on Class A and Class C rigs for off-grid power. Pro tip: check the listing's amenities checklist and add-ons, hosts often include bedding kits, camp chairs, and grills for a small fee.
nps.gov/kemo/planyourvisit/things-to-do.htm

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about for my Kennesaw RV rental?

There's a great mix of optional extras that make life easier. Popular add-ons from Kennesaw hosts include linen and towel packages, fully stocked kitchen kits, outdoor camping gear (chairs, tables, grills), generators, bike racks, kid and pet bundles, and even pre-stocked propane and full water tanks. Most pickups happen at the host's home in Kennesaw, Acworth, Marietta, or Woodstock between 1 and 5 p.m., with drop-off the morning of your last day, this gives hosts time to clean and prep between bookings. Mileage policies vary by listing, so check whether the rig offers unlimited miles or a daily allowance with a per-mile rate. Pro tip: ask the host to throw in a portable Wi-Fi hotspot if you're working remotely from camp, it's a common and inexpensive add-on.
nps.gov/kemo/planyourvisit/index.htm

How do payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Kennesaw?

Payment is simple and secure. You pay through RVezy directly (never the host outside the platform), with major credit and debit cards accepted. At booking, you will pay the rental total plus your chosen protection plan fee. A refundable security deposit is placed as a temporary hold on your card before pickup, typically in the $500 to $1,500 range depending on the rig, and it is released after drop-off assuming the RV comes back in the same condition. To avoid any issues, take date-stamped walkthrough photos at pickup and drop-off, return with the fuel and tank levels noted on your agreement, and message the host through the platform for anything unusual. Pro tip: keep all communication in the RVezy app, it is your paper trail if anything ever comes up.

What are the best road trip routes from Kennesaw for an RV adventure?

Kennesaw is one of the South's great RV launch pads. A classic 3-day loop heads about 90 miles north to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Helen for Bavarian charm and Anna Ruby Falls. A 5-day route runs about 120 miles northwest to Chattanooga, Tennessee for Rock City and the Tennessee Aquarium, then loops back through Cloudland Canyon State Park. For a week, drive 250 miles southeast to Savannah and Tybee Island, or head about 200 miles north to Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Gatlinburg. A weekend in Athens (75 miles east) for college-town vibes and vineyards is another favorite. Pro tip: leave Kennesaw on a Friday morning before 10 a.m. to beat the I-75 and I-575 weekend rush north.
