So happy to have rented our first time with Samantha. The camper is fairly new so it was super clean and all systems worked as expected. Any glitches in operation were resolved with the owners manual (on board) or with communication with Samantha. I towed to our camp site with a GMC Canyon (7K towing capacity & electronic brake control)) and it followed like a dream. No need for anti sway gear. Our property has no hookups so we basically boondocked for the weekend. Take advantage of the generators the host is offering if boondocking is your plan. They worked great. There is also a solar panel system that is providing power for minor items when you are off generator. Overall we had an awesome weekend and Samantha was a great host. I would rent from her again.

This was our first family RV trip. I have experience with big rigs, but my only RV experience was in my childhood. We needed to make a quick weekend trip with lots of driving. Taking an RV was a great way to get the miles, and be able to comfortably rest when needed. We made it to our event, and were able to rest for a few hours when we arrived. It was wonderful. The kids loved the space and freedom, and our family if 6 had a bed for each kid, so no sharing!! The RV is pet friendly, but for us non pet owners, it was clean and fresh, so rest assured, if you’re a non pet person, it’ll be great! The value was excellent, and Aaron went above and beyond. We even took on some minor road damage, and Aaron was able to correct everything himself, and kept us in our budget. He could have easily sent this to the shop, and hit up big charges. It’s evident he cares about his renters, and their experience! It was an A+ experience, and my kids have already asked when are we doing it again. Which is crazy, because it was a 1600 mile car ride in3.5 days! Kids never ask to ride in our Car for that long, but they loved the RV! If you’ve been dreaming about it, do it, YOLO! But maybe pick a shorter drive than we did for your first time.

Experience was incredible. I highly recommend renting Haleem’s RV. It was perfect for my family of 6 and our dogs. RV came equipped with lots of thing we needed such as utensils , blankets and towels. Haleem really went above and beyond to ensure we had a seem less and enjoyable trip. I would love to rent this RV again.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Oneida, TN

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Oneida, TN?

RV rental in Oneida is one of the most affordable ways to experience the Cumberland Plateau and Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Expect roughly $90 to $160 per night for travel trailers, $150 to $250 for Class C motorhomes, and $200 to $375 for larger Class A coaches, plus host fees for mileage, generator hours, or delivery. To score a cheap RV rental in Oneida, shoulder seasons like late March, April, and October bring lower nightly rates and fewer crowds at Bandy Creek Campground. Pro tip: book midweek and bundle add-ons like camp chairs, propane fills, and linens directly with your host to save versus buying gear separately.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Oneida, Tennessee?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Oneida and drive throughout Tennessee. The state of Tennessee specifically exempts recreational vehicles from Commercial Driver License (CDL) requirements, so motorhomes, campervans, and travel trailers used for personal travel are covered by a standard Class D license. Renters must be at least 25 years old on RVezy, and you'll upload your license through the platform so identity verification happens before pickup. Visiting from abroad? An International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country auto club paired with your home license keeps you fully road-ready for your Oneida RV trip.

What protection is included with my Oneida RV rental?

Every motorhome rental in Oneida booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built in, so you can hit the winding roads of the Cumberland Plateau with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the vehicle during your trip, and you choose your coverage level (Standard, Plus, or Premium) during checkout, not the host. Pick the tier that matches your comfort level and head out feeling protected from the driveway to the campfire near Bandy Creek and Twin Arches.

What is the cancellation policy if my Oneida plans change?

Booking your Oneida RV trip is low-risk: RVezy (not the individual host) sets one consistent cancellation policy that applies to every rental on the platform, and it includes a money-back grace period right after booking. Refund eligibility after that depends on how far out from your trip you cancel, and additional flexibility may apply when unusual circumstances like severe weather affect Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Review the current policy details on the RVezy Help Center before you confirm so you know exactly what to expect.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Oneida?

Absolutely, your pup is welcome on the trails of Big South Fork, and finding a pet-friendly RV rental Oneida is easy on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when searching, and you'll see listings where hosts welcome dogs (some allow cats too). Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area allows leashed pets on most trails, in campgrounds like Bandy Creek, and at overlooks such as the East Rim, which is rare for a national park unit. Message the host before booking to confirm size or breed preferences, and pack a long lead so Fido can explore the Oscar Blevins Loop with you.
nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/pets.htm

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Oneida?

Yes, RV delivery in Oneida is one of the easiest ways to start your Big South Fork adventure, especially if it's your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will tow or drive the rig directly to a campground, family driveway, or trailhead staging area, then level it, hook up water and electric, and walk you through every system before they leave. Note that Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area requires commercial operators to have a National Park Service permit for in-park delivery, so confirm with your host whether they can deliver inside the park or to a nearby private campground. Filter by Delivery on RVezy to see all your options.

How far can I drive on a typical Oneida RV trip?

Oneida sits at the doorstep of the Cumberland Plateau, putting incredible road trip destinations within easy reach. From Oneida you can be at Bandy Creek Campground in about 20 minutes, Pickett CCC Memorial State Park in roughly 45 minutes, Knoxville in 1 hour 20 minutes (about 75 miles), the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in around 2.5 hours, Nashville in 3 hours, and Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky in about 2.5 hours. Some hosts offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, while others include a generous daily allowance with a small per-mile fee beyond that. Check the mileage policy on each listing and message the host if you're planning a longer RV road trip from Oneida.

Where are the best campgrounds near Oneida for RV camping?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping Oneida. Bandy Creek Campground inside Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area offers 144 sites with water and electric hookups, hot showers, flush toilets, and a seasonal pool just minutes from the Twin Arches. Station Camp Horse Campground is perfect if you're traveling with horses or want quieter, electric-and-water sites near river access. Pickett CCC Memorial State Park (about 45 minutes west) has 31 wooded sites and Dark Sky certification for unreal stargazing. Big South Fork Wilderness Resort offers private full-hookup sites just outside town. Book Bandy Creek through Recreation.gov up to six months in advance for peak fall foliage weekends.
nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/campgrounds.htm

When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Oneida, TN?

Oneida is a three-and-a-half-season RV destination, with the sweet spot running mid-April through late October. Spring (April to May) brings wildflowers, waterfalls, and highs in the 60s to mid-70s. Summer (June to August) is warm and humid with highs around 82 to 87°F, perfect for swimming the Big South Fork River. Fall (late September through October) is the local favorite, with crisp 60s to low 70s and spectacular Cumberland Plateau foliage peaking mid-to-late October. Winter sees highs in the low 40s with occasional snow, but cold-weather-equipped RVs make for a peaceful, crowd-free trip. Pro tip: book your fall-color RV rental in Oneida by July, it fills up fast.
weather.gov/mrx/

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay around Oneida?

You've got this, and Oneida is actually one of the friendlier places for a first time renting an RV. Your host will give you a hands-on orientation at pickup covering driving tips, leveling, hookups, propane, slide-outs, and the dump station, and you can call or text them anytime during your trip. The roads into Bandy Creek (TN-297) are paved and well-maintained, though the descent into the Big South Fork gorge has curves and grades that reward driving 5 to 10 mph under the limit. If a smaller campervan rental Oneida feels less intimidating, filter by Class B or Class C on RVezy and start small. 24/7 roadside assistance is included, just in case.
nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/directions.htm

What happens if I have a problem on the road during my Oneida RV trip?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance for tire changes, lockouts, jump starts, fuel delivery, and towing, which is reassuring in the more remote stretches of Scott County where cell service can drop. Your host is also a quick text or call away for questions about quirks of their specific RV, and RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Save the roadside number to your phone before leaving, and if you lose signal deep in Big South Fork, the Bandy Creek Visitor Center at 4564 Leatherwood Road has a landline and can radio rangers for emergencies.
nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/basicinfo.htm

Can I take my Oneida RV rental into Kentucky or other states?

Yes, interstate travel is easy and one of the joys of an RV road trip from Oneida. Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area actually crosses into southeastern Kentucky, so a quick drive up US-27 puts you at Blue Heron Mining Community and Yahoo Falls in under an hour. Popular multi-state itineraries include Mammoth Cave National Park, KY (2.5 hours), the Great Smoky Mountains, NC (3.5 hours), and Asheville, NC (4.5 hours). Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental due to insurance coverage limits. If you're planning a Canadian leg, message the host first to confirm their cross-border policy.
nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/directions.htm

What should I budget for fuel on my Oneida RV trip?

Fuel is usually the second-biggest line item after the rental itself, so it helps to plan ahead. Expect a Class B campervan to get 18 to 22 mpg, a Class C motorhome 8 to 12 mpg, a Class A roughly 7 to 10 mpg, and a tow vehicle with a travel trailer 10 to 14 mpg. Tennessee gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, and Oneida has Marathon, Shell, and BP stations along Alberta Street and US-27 that easily fit larger rigs. Top off in town before heading into Big South Fork, as there are no fuel stations inside the park. A 200-mile loop in a Class C usually runs $60 to $90 in gas.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Oneida?

For the best campgrounds near Oneida, plan to reserve as soon as your dates are locked in. Bandy Creek Campground accepts reservations through Recreation.gov up to six months in advance, and prime fall-foliage weekends in October often sell out the moment the window opens. Pickett CCC Memorial State Park bookings open up to one year ahead on the Tennessee State Parks reservation system (note its campground is closed for renovations into mid-2026, so check status). For summer weekends, aim for two to three months out. Pro tip: weekday arrivals at Bandy Creek are almost always available even last-minute, making Sunday-through-Thursday trips a stress-free choice.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232142

What are the local driving conditions like around Oneida?

Driving an RV around Oneida is very manageable once you know the terrain. US-27 is the main north-south corridor, four lanes through town, while TN-297 west into Big South Fork is the scenic route featuring a memorable descent into the Big South Fork gorge with switchbacks and 7% grades. Take it slow, use engine braking, and pull over at the East Rim Overlook to let your brakes cool. Winter (December to February) occasionally brings snow and black ice on plateau roads, and summer afternoon thunderstorms can be intense. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk along rural routes. Most days, though, you'll have wide open road and stunning views.
tn.gov/tdot/driver-how-do-i/check-current-road-conditions-in-tn.html

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Oneida?

Campgrounds around Oneida cover the full spectrum. Bandy Creek Campground in Big South Fork has water and electric hookups (no sewer at sites), a dump station, flush toilets, hot showers, a seasonal swimming pool, and a camp store. Station Camp Horse Camp has electric and water for rigs up to 70 feet. Pickett State Park sites all have water, with electric at 20 of the 31 sites and an on-site dump station, but no sewer hookups, so bring long hoses. For full hookups including 50-amp service and sewer, private parks like Big South Fork Wilderness Resort just outside town are your best bet. Fill fresh water before arrival to be safe.
nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/bandycreekcampground.htm

What's typically included inside an Oneida RV rental?

Most RVs you'll rent in Oneida come trip-ready. Expect a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, sink, cookware, and dishes), sleeping for 2 to 8 depending on layout, a bathroom with shower and toilet, air conditioning, furnace, hot water heater, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, camp chairs, and a generator or solar setup, handy for boondocking in Big South Fork where hookups are limited. Wi-Fi is rare and cell coverage is spotty inside the park (AT&T tends to work best near Bandy Creek). Each listing on RVezy spells out exactly what's included so you can pack only what you actually need.
nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/wifi-and-cell-service.htm

What add-ons and pickup options can I expect for an Oneida RV rental?

Hosts in Oneida love making trips turn-key. Common add-ons include bedding and towel packages ($25 to $75), kitchen kits, bike or kayak racks, generators, propane fire pits, and pet packs. Each host sets their own pickup window, mileage policy (typically 100 to 150 free miles per day, with some offering RV rental with unlimited mileage), and dropoff location. Delivery to Bandy Creek, Station Camp, or your Oneida vacation rental is one of the most popular options, with fees usually based on round-trip mileage from the host's home. Pro tip: ask for the firewood and camp chair add-ons; they save you a stop and Tennessee requires certified heat-treated firewood in state parks anyway.
protecttnforests.org/

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and fully handled through RVezy, so you'll never exchange cash with your host. You'll pay your rental total by credit or debit card at the time of booking, and a refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) is pre-authorized on your card before pickup, not actually charged. As long as you return the rig in the agreed condition with the agreed fuel and tank levels, the hold is released after your trip ends. Pro tip: do a quick video walkaround at pickup and dropoff so any pre-existing dings on your Oneida RV rental are documented up front, that's the single best way to avoid deposit disputes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Can I rent an RV in Oneida in the winter?

Yes, and winter is a hidden gem for renting an RV in Oneida if you're prepared. December through February brings highs in the low 40s, lows in the high 20s, and occasional snow on the Cumberland Plateau, but you'll have Big South Fork's East Rim, Twin Arches, and Honey Creek largely to yourself. Look for RV rental Tennessee listings that mention heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and a working furnace, and ask your host about winterization status. Plan to use shore power at Bandy Creek's open loop, refill propane in town before heading out, and bring extra blankets. The frozen waterfalls along the No Business Creek trail are unforgettable.
