Best time to visit Hillsdale State Park

Late April through early June and September into October are the most comfortable windows for RV travel at Hillsdale, with mild temperatures, lower humidity, and active fishing. Midsummer brings warm lake days ideal for swimming and boating, but also heat, humidity, and occasional severe thunderstorms typical of eastern Kansas. Weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day book heavily, so shoulder-season visits offer easier site selection and quieter campgrounds. Winters are cold with limited services, though some utility sites remain open for self-contained rigs.
