Campgrounds and RV parks near Puntledge, BC

The Puntledge area sits within the Comox Valley on the east coast of Vancouver Island, close to Courtenay and the mouth of the Puntledge River. RV renters use it as a base for beaches on the Strait of Georgia, salmon rivers, and Mount Washington to the west. The K'ómoks First Nation traditional territory frames much of the local geography, and several campgrounds sit within a short drive of downtown Courtenay. Options range from full-service riverside RV parks to primitive oceanfront provincial sites. Puntledge RV Campground offers full-service, partial, and dry sites walking distance from Courtenay shops, while Bates Beach Oceanfront and RV Park sits north of the city along Georgia Strait with tidal pools and mountain views. Seal Bay RV Park and The Park at Crown Isle round out the private options closer to town. For a more rustic stay, Kitty Coleman Beach Provincial Park provides non-serviced oceanfront sites under mature Douglas fir, Western hemlock, and Western red cedar north of Courtenay. Together these campgrounds cover most RV needs, from full hookups near amenities to dry camping on the water.

Private parks in the area, including Puntledge RV Campground, Bates Beach Oceanfront and RV Park, Seal Bay RV Park, and The Park at Crown Isle, take direct reservations through their own websites or by phone. Summer weekends and long weekends should be booked well in advance, as full-hookup and oceanfront sites are limited. Kitty Coleman Beach Provincial Park operates differently: it is a community-run Class C park outside the regular BC Parks reservation system. Individual campsites are first-come, first-served, and only the group site and covered picnic area can be reserved in advance by phone. Payment at the park is cash or debit only, and stays are capped at ten days. For renters delivering an RV, confirm site length, hookup type, and access road conditions with the campground before booking, since some coastal parks have narrow or steep approaches unsuitable for larger rigs.
