The Sunshine Coast is a stretch of mainland British Columbia reached from Metro Vancouver by BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale, then Highway 101 north through Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Sechelt, Halfmoon Bay, Pender Harbour, and Egmont. RV travellers use it as a multi-stop coastal route, with campgrounds clustered around Sechelt Inlet, the Strait of Georgia beaches, and the marina villages near the northern end of the peninsula. Reservations for Porpoise Bay Provincial Park are made through camping.bcparks.ca on a three-month rolling window, with new arrival dates released daily at 7 a.m. Pacific Time. Summer weekends and long weekends sell out quickly, so mark the date three months ahead of your planned arrival. Roberts Creek Provincial Park works differently. This park offers vehicle-accessible campsites on a first-come, first-served basis, campsite reservations are not accepted, and there are 21 gravel sites, one of which is a double site. Arrive mid-week or early in the day for the best chance at a site. Private parks book directly. Bayside Campground and RV Park, Pender Harbour Resort And Marina, and Bathgate General Store Resort and Marina take reservations by phone or through their websites; hookup sites for larger rigs should be reserved well ahead for summer.
