Campgrounds and RV parks near Moose Lake 31A, MB

Moose Lake 31A sits in northwestern Manitoba, roughly a two-hour drive north of The Pas and within reach of two large provincial parks that anchor RV camping in the region: Clearwater Lake Provincial Park to the south and Grass River Provincial Park to the north and east. Both parks are operated by Manitoba Parks and are accessible from PTH 10 and PTH 39. At Clearwater Lake, RVers choose between Campers Cove - Clearwater Lake Provincial Park, which offers a mix of basic and electrically serviced sites, and Pioneer Bay - Clearwater Lake Provincial Park, which leans toward walk-in tenting with some electrical sites. Together the park holds around 79 campsites suitable for RV and tent camping, with 70 offering electrical hookups and the other nine unserviced. Grass River Provincial Park offers three developed campgrounds along the Grass River Canoe Route: Gyles - Grass River Provincial Park on Simonhouse Lake, Iskwasum - Grass River Provincial Park on the Grass River between Loucks and Iskwasum Lakes, and Reed Lake - Grass River Provincial Park on Reed Lake itself. None of these three offer power, sewer, or water connections, but all have clean washrooms, solar gravity-fed showers, and sewer dumps.

Clearwater Lake sites are booked through the Manitoba Parks Reservation Service. Bookings can be made online on the Manitoba Parks site, by phone, or in person at the Winnipeg office, up to the day of arrival. Reservations for both campgrounds open in mid-April, with yurts at Campers' Cove available a bit earlier, starting at the beginning of April. A limited number of seasonal sites are awarded by lottery, with a February application cutoff. Grass River's Gyles, Iskwasum, and Reed Lake are also part of the Manitoba Parks system. Payment at the gate has historically required cash or cheque at some Grass River locations, so travellers should confirm in advance and bring backup payment. A Manitoba Parks vehicle permit is required and is sold on an annual, casual three-consecutive-night, or nightly basis in addition to the campsite fee.
