Campgrounds and RV parks near Inkerman, NB

Inkerman is a small Acadian community on New Brunswick's northeastern coast, sitting along the Pokemouche River near the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. It functions as a quiet base between the larger towns of Shippagan to the east and Caraquet to the west, both anchors of the Acadian Peninsula. RV travellers use this area to reach warm saltwater beaches, coastal cycling routes, and Acadian cultural sites without booking inside a busy provincial or national park. Camping Shippagan sits closest to Inkerman on the road toward Shippagan, while Camping Colibri sur Mer, Maison Touristique Dugas Camping, and Camping and Motel Colibri cluster around Caraquet within a short drive to the west. Camping Plage Val-Comeau extends the range south toward Tracadie. Most private campgrounds in this corner of New Brunswick operate seasonally, typically from late spring through early fall. The region is bilingual and predominantly French-speaking, so travellers should expect Acadian French signage and menus alongside English service at most campgrounds and attractions.

For private campgrounds such as Camping Shippagan, Camping Colibri sur Mer, Maison Touristique Dugas Camping, Camping and Motel Colibri, and Camping Plage Val-Comeau, book directly with the operator by phone or through the campground website. Waterfront sites and full-service pull-throughs sell out first for July and August, so reserve several weeks ahead for peak summer weekends. For nearby Parks Canada sites like Kouchibouguac National Park, reservations run through the Parks Canada Reservation Service and typically open early in the calendar year, often in late January or early February. Travellers should book sites for July and August as soon as the launch window opens. The long weekends in May, July, August, and September are consistently the most crowded.
