Campgrounds near Cox's Cove

Cox's Cove sits on the Bay of Islands in western Newfoundland, roughly an hour's drive from Corner Brook and within striking distance of Gros Morne National Park. RV travellers use the town as a quiet coastal base before heading south to the Blow Me Down peninsula or north toward the fjords and Tablelands of Gros Morne. The closest developed campground is Blow Me Down Provincial Park, a coastal site on a peninsula between Lark Harbour and York Harbour. Farther north on Route 431, Gros Morne National Park operates Trout River Pond Campground and Lomond Campground, both suited to trailers and motorhomes without electrical hookups. Private options round out the area. Elephants Head RV Park and Gros Morne Glamping in Trout River offers fully serviced RV sites, tent pads, and glamping accommodations. Things to do near Cox's Cove

The Bay of Islands shoreline is the main draw close to town, with sea kayaking, saltwater fishing, and pebble beaches. Blow Me Down Provincial Park has short hiking trails, an observation tower with views over Lark and York Harbours, and a cobble beach in the day-use area. Gros Morne National Park sits about ninety minutes north and is the region's headline attraction. I spent 10 days travelling around the island in “The Noplanvan” and it was incredible! Easy to drive and park. It’s compact and basic but has a very comfortable bed and the cooler worked great for my needs. Temperatures ranged from 4-22 degrees during the nights of my stay. I had plenty of blankets to stay warm and the fan worked great for the warmer nights. All your basic camping essentials were in the van or Thule. Kyle was very accommodating, responsive and gave some great recommendations! I would definitely book again.
