I spent 10 days travelling around the island in “The Noplanvan” and it was incredible! Easy to drive and park. It’s compact and basic but has a very comfortable bed and the cooler worked great for my needs. Temperatures ranged from 4-22 degrees during the nights of my stay. I had plenty of blankets to stay warm and the fan worked great for the warmer nights. All your basic camping essentials were in the van or Thule. Kyle was very accommodating, responsive and gave some great recommendations! I would definitely book again.

How to book near Humber Arm South

Provincial parks and national parks use separate reservation systems. ParksNL opens 2026 reservations on April 22, with the system live at nlcamping.ca or by phone at 1-877-214-CAMP (2267). Blow Me Down and Barachois Pond bookings run through this system. Gros Morne front-country sites, including Trout River Pond Campground, are handled through the Parks Canada Reservation Service at reservation.pc.gc.ca. The Gros Morne launch falls in February, and booking on opening day is recommended for the best sites and preferred dates. A national park entry pass is required in addition to camping fees. Private operators such as Elephants Head RV Park and Gros Morne Glamping and Lomond River Lodge Campground take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Trout River sites fill quickly for July, so booking as soon as the Parks Canada system opens is advised.

Blow Me Down Provincial Park offers 28 unserviced campsites, and Trout River and Lomond campgrounds in Gros Morne are also unserviced, with limited electricity and no electrical hookups. Blow Me Down has a dump station, comfort station with flush toilets and showers, and water taps throughout the park.
