Campgrounds and RV parks near Wingham, ON

Wingham sits in Huron County in southwestern Ontario, part of the municipality of North Huron on the Maitland River. The town is roughly a half-hour drive from the Lake Huron shoreline near Goderich, which shapes the mix of camping options in the area: inland river and farmland campgrounds close to town, and beach-focused parks a short drive west. Most campgrounds nearby are privately operated and family run. Auburn Riverside Retreat sits on the Maitland River south of Wingham on a wooded property with serviced and unserviced sites, cabins, and group areas. Conestoga Family Campgrounds and Family Paradise Campground are close by in the surrounding farm country, while Fishermans Cove Tent and Trailer Park and Driftwood Beach Park round out the closest options for RV travellers. For a public-park alternative, Point Farms Provincial Park is a short drive west toward Goderich and offers two car-camping campgrounds on a bluff above Lake Huron. That combination gives RV travellers a choice between private resort-style stays close to Wingham and provincial-park camping on the lake.

For provincial parks like Point Farms, reservations run through Ontario Parks at reservations.ontarioparks.ca or by phone at 1-888-668-7275. The booking window opens at 7:00 a.m. ET, five months in advance of the arrival date, and full payment is required at booking. Reservations cannot be changed or cancelled more than four months in advance of arrival, and the permit holder must be at least sixteen years old. Private campgrounds near Wingham each handle their own bookings. Auburn Riverside Retreat, for example, takes reservations directly through its website or by phone. For summer weekends and holidays, contact private parks well in advance and confirm site length, hookups, and pull-through availability before arrival.
