Campgrounds and RV parks near Crapaud, PE

Crapaud is a small village in Queens County on the south shore of Prince Edward Island, roughly 30 minutes west of Charlottetown and about 15 minutes east of the Confederation Bridge at Borden-Carleton. Its location on the Trans-Canada Highway makes it a practical base for RV travellers arriving from New Brunswick and heading toward Cavendish, Charlottetown, or Points East. Campground options within easy reach range from oceanfront private parks to inland family resorts. Cumberland Cove Seaside Campground sits closest to the village on the Northumberland Strait shoreline, while Borden / Summerside KOA Journey offers a convenient stop just off the bridge. Cavendish-area sites, including Cavendish KOA Holiday, Marco Polo Land Campgrounds and Inn and deluxe Cabins, and the quieter New Glasgow Highlands Campground, are all within a 30 to 45 minute drive. Most campgrounds in the area cater to trailers and motorhomes with a mix of full-hookup, partial-hookup, and unserviced sites. Beaches, seafood shacks, and the Confederation Trail are all accessible without long daily drives from Crapaud.

The PEI National Park launch typically opens in late January for the coming summer season, with the whole season released on launch day. The PEI Provincial Parks online reservation system opened for the 2026 season on April 15 at 9:00 a.m. at peiprovincialparks.ca. Private parks, including Cumberland Cove Seaside Campground, New Glasgow Highlands Campground, Borden / Summerside KOA Journey, Cavendish KOA Holiday, and Marco Polo Land Campgrounds and Inn and deluxe Cabins, are booked directly through each operator's website or phone line. For July and August travel, booking two to six months ahead is standard. Cancellations do free up sites closer to arrival.
