Campgrounds and RV parks near Havelock, QC

Parc Safari, just east in Hemmingford, is the area's biggest family draw, with a drive-through safari and educational activities designed for parents and young children. On-site attractions include the Farm of the Five Continents with camel and pony rides, glass feline tunnels, and a water park with pools, slides, and tube rides. The surrounding Covey Hill area is known for apple orchards, cideries, and small vineyards along the Circuit du Paysan agritourism route, which makes for an easy day of driving and tasting. Hiking and birdwatching are possible on the Covey Hill trails, and Lake Champlain is within reach for a longer day trip south. Closer to camp, most parks offer swimming pools, lake swimming, playgrounds, and weekend activities aimed at families.

The camping season around Havelock is short and tightly tied to the Quebec summer. Most private campgrounds in the region open in early May and close by late September or Canadian Thanksgiving in mid-October. Domaine Frontiere Enchantee opens for the season on May 1, offering a mix of natural setting and recreational activities for all ages. Blue Haven Campground and Resort typically operates from May through Canadian Thanksgiving as well. July and August are peak season: warm, humid days, full activity programming at the campgrounds, and the highest demand for serviced sites. Long weekends, the Quebec construction holiday in late July, and the Hemmingford apple harvest in September fill sites quickly. Spring camping in May and early June can be cool and wet, with blackflies and mosquitoes active. September brings cooler nights, thinner crowds, and the start of fall colour through the orchards. Winter is not a camping season for the private parks here, though Parc Safari now operates year-round.

Expect mid-size to large family campgrounds with a mix of seasonal and transient sites. Serviced pull-through and back-in sites with electric, water, and sewer hookups are common, alongside unserviced tent areas. Domaine Frontiere Enchantee operates roughly 330 sites with full and partial hookups, plus a dump station, showers, laundry, and propane on site. Pools, playgrounds, beaches, and weekend entertainment are standard at the larger parks. Cell coverage is generally reliable across the Montérégie plain, and most sites have Wi-Fi near the main building. Roads are paved or hard-packed gravel and accommodate larger rigs, though interior loops can be tight at older parks. Sites near seasonal sections may feel residential, with decks and add-ons around neighbouring trailers. Bilingual service is the norm: staff and signage are typically in French, with English spoken at the office.
