Campgrounds and RV parks near Léry, QC

The Beauharnois-Salaberry Regional Park is the main outdoor draw, a linear park along the Beauharnois Canal with cycling, walking, picnic stopovers, observation points, boat launches, and fishing access. Cyclists can connect to the broader Montérégie network of dedicated bike paths. Lac Saint-Louis offers boating, paddling, and shoreline fishing, and the Soulanges Canal bike path runs from Pointe-des-Cascades west to Les Coteaux. Day trips into Montreal are practical from any of these bases for Old Montreal, museums, and festivals. Village Des Écluses adds cultural programming and lockside attractions on a 10-hectare domain at the junction of Lac Saint-Louis and the St. Lawrence.

The camping season in this part of Quebec is short and concentrated. Most private campgrounds and regional-park sites open in early May and close at the end of October; Village Des Écluses, for example, operates from May 1 to October 31. July and August deliver the warmest, most reliable weather and the busiest sites, with the Montreal festival calendar pulling extra demand into the surrounding region. June is pleasant but can be wet, with thunderstorms common in the afternoons. Shoulder seasons reward planners. Late May and early June bring greener parks and fewer crowds, while September offers cooler nights, lower bug pressure, and the start of fall colour in October. Frost typically returns in mid-October, and many seasonal services such as pools, snack bars, and activity programming wind down before the parks themselves close. From November through April, snow cover, freezing temperatures, and closed water systems make RV camping impractical in this corridor.

Expect French as the default language at most parks, with bilingual staff at the larger ones such as Montreal South KOA Journey. Sites along the canals tend to be grassy and level, with mature trees, picnic tables, and fire rings; hookups vary from full service to electric-only, with 15 and 30 amp service common and 50 amp limited. Cell coverage is generally strong throughout the corridor. Mosquitoes and black flies are active from late May through July, so bring repellent. The St. Lawrence Seaway runs alongside many sites, and watching freighters pass close to shore is part of the experience. Roads into the campgrounds are paved and accessible off Highway 30 and Highway 20, though some rural approaches narrow near the gate.
