Nous sommes vraiment content de la roulotte, la propreté, la flexibilité dans la livraison, de la communication à répondre à nos questions. Merci !

Everything was absolutely perfect. We loved our stay in the Skycat! We had many friends at the same campsite as us and repeatedly people stopped by and were completely charmed by the camper and jealous of such a terrific place to stay for the weekend. Plenty of space to make dinners, lots of storage, super comfortable bed and Carlos and Christine made everything so easy by dropping it off and picking it up. Can't wait to rent from them again next year!

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Rigaud, QC

How much does an RV rental in Rigaud typically cost?

RV rental in Rigaud is surprisingly affordable, with most nightly rates ranging from about CAD $120 for compact campervans to CAD $280 for family-sized Class C motorhomes. Travel trailers often land in the sweet spot around CAD $150 to $200 per night. To find the cheap RV rental Rigaud option that fits your trip, use the price filter on RVezy and book mid-week or in the shoulder seasons of May, June, or September when demand softens. Pro tip: Rigaud sits right on Autoroute 40, so picking up here instead of downtown Montreal can save you 15 to 20 percent compared with city pickups. Browse listings, filter by your budget, and you will see how quickly a Quebec road trip fits the wallet.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Rigaud, Quebec?

Good news: a regular Class 5 Quebec driver's license (or your home province or state equivalent) is all you need to rent an RV in Rigaud. No special RV endorsement, air-brake ticket, or commercial license is required for any motorhome or travel trailer on RVezy. Visiting from outside Canada? Bring your home driver's license, and if it is not in English or French, pair it with an International Driving Permit from your local auto association before you fly in. You will need to be at least 25 years old, and ID verification happens securely right inside your RVezy account. Once you are verified, you are clear to book and hit Autoroute 40 west toward Ottawa or east toward Montreal.

Is my Rigaud RV rental protected if something goes wrong?

Yes, every RV rental in Rigaud booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built into your reservation. The protection plan covers most accidental damage to the vehicle, giving you real financial peace of mind while you explore Mont Rigaud, Parc national d'Oka, or the Ottawa River shoreline. During checkout, you choose the protection level that fits your trip, so first-time renters can scale up for extra coverage while seasoned road-trippers can stick with standard. It is purpose-built for peer-to-peer RV rentals, so you can focus on the adventure instead of the what-ifs.

What is the cancellation policy for an RV rental in Rigaud?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a standardized cancellation policy (it is not host-defined), and it includes a full money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. After that grace window, refund amounts depend on how far out from your trip you cancel. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy issues a refund or travel credit so your plans stay protected. You can review the full policy in the RVezy Help Center before confirming. Pro tip: message a Rigaud host first to confirm availability, then book early to lock in summer weekends, which fill up fast around Mont Rigaud.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Rigaud?

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental options in Rigaud are easy to find on RVezy. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when you search and you will see listings from hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats) onboard. Rigaud is a great launchpad for pet travel: the trails at Sentiers de l'Escapade and up Mont Rigaud allow leashed dogs, and nearby Parc national d'Oka has designated pet-friendly trails along Lac des Deux-Montagnes. SEPAQ campgrounds in Quebec generally permit leashed dogs in specific sectors, so confirm the pet-friendly loop when you reserve. Message the host before booking to confirm any size limits or cleaning fees, and pack a towel for muddy paws after those granite-rock hikes.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or cottage in Rigaud?

Yes, RV delivery in Rigaud is one of the most popular add-ons on RVezy, and it is a game-changer if it is your first time renting an RV. Many Rigaud-area hosts will drive the motorhome or trailer straight to Camping Choisy, Camping d'Oka, your cottage on Lac des Deux-Montagnes, or a private driveway in Hudson or Vaudreuil-Dorion. They level the rig, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Use the Delivery filter on the search page to see who offers it and how far they will travel. Delivery fees and distances are set by each host and shown clearly on the listing.

How far can I drive on an RV road trip from Rigaud?

Rigaud is an ideal home base for an RV road trip in Quebec or Ontario, sitting right at the provincial border on Autoroute 40/417. Most hosts offer generous daily mileage allowances (commonly 200 to 400 km per day), and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which you can spot using the mileage filter. Popular routes from Rigaud include Ottawa (about 100 km west, around 1 hour 15 minutes), Montreal (about 70 km east, around 50 minutes), Mont-Tremblant (about 145 km north, around 1 hour 45 minutes), Quebec City (about 320 km, around 3 hours 15 minutes), and the Thousand Islands near Gananoque (about 250 km, around 2 hours 45 minutes). Check the mileage policy on each listing and message your host if your route runs long, many will add extra kilometres for a small per-km fee.

Where can I camp with an RV near Rigaud?

You are spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping near Rigaud. Camping Choisy, on Lac des Deux-Montagnes about 10 minutes from town, offers waterfront sites with full hookups and a sandy beach. Camping d'Oka inside Parc national d'Oka (about 30 minutes east) is a SEPAQ favourite with electrical sites, swimming, and kilometres of cycling trails. Camping Domaine Lausanne in nearby Coteau-du-Lac has full-service sites and a pool, and Camping Plage McDonald west of Rigaud offers a relaxed family vibe on the Ottawa River. Book SEPAQ sites through reservation.sepaq.com as soon as the booking window opens, the waterfront spots disappear within days for July and August weekends.

When is the best time to rent an RV in Rigaud?

The sweet spot for an RV rental in Rigaud Quebec is mid-May through mid-October, when daytime highs sit between 18 and 27 degrees Celsius and SEPAQ campgrounds are fully open. July and August are peak season with the warmest swimming weather on Lac des Deux-Montagnes, but late September is the local insider's pick: the maples around Mont Rigaud explode into red and gold, the free fall shuttle runs on weekends, and campgrounds are half-empty. Spring (May to early June) is wonderful for hiking and birding before the bugs peak. Winters are cold (often -10 to -20 degrees Celsius) but a handful of four-season hosts rent winterized rigs for ski trips to Mont Rigaud or Mont-Tremblant.

I have never driven an RV before. Will I be okay starting from Rigaud?

You are going to do great. Rigaud is actually one of the easiest places in Quebec to start a first-time RV adventure: the roads are flat, traffic is light compared to downtown Montreal, and Autoroute 40 has wide lanes and gentle curves heading both east and west. Every RVezy host gives you a full orientation at pickup, walking you through propane, water, the dump valves, the awning, and how to back into a site. You can also message your host before booking with any questions, no pressure. If parallel parking still feels intimidating, book a travel trailer that the host delivers and sets up at your campground (Camping Choisy and Camping Oka are popular drop spots), and you can leave the towing to them.

What happens if my RV breaks down during my trip from Rigaud?

You are covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so if you get a flat tire on Highway 40 heading to Ottawa or a battery dies at Camping Oka, you call one number and help is dispatched. The protection package handles most mechanical breakdowns, tows, lockouts, and tire changes. Your host is also just a message away and usually lives within 30 minutes of Rigaud, so for small questions (how do I reset the inverter?) you will often get an answer in minutes. Pro tip: snap photos of the RV at pickup, save the roadside number in your phone, and locate the spare tire and jack during your walkthrough so you know exactly what to do if anything pops up.

Can I take my Rigaud RV rental across the border into Ontario or the United States?

Yes to Ontario, and often yes to the US, with a quick confirmation. Crossing into Ontario is seamless: Rigaud is literally minutes from the provincial border on Highway 401/417, and there are no extra steps required since you are still in Canada. For US trips (popular routes include Lake Placid at 230 km and the Adirondacks at 200 km via the Cornwall-Massena bridge), message your host directly from the listing page before booking to confirm cross-border travel is approved on their insurance. Most Rigaud hosts say yes to the US with advance notice. One firm rule: travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage does not extend there. Bring your passport and ArriveCAN-equivalent documents for re-entry.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Rigaud RV trip?

Fuel is usually the second-biggest expense after the rental itself, so it helps to plan ahead. Quebec gas prices in the Rigaud area typically run between CAD $1.55 and $1.75 per litre, a bit lower than downtown Montreal. Class B campervans get around 9 to 11 L/100 km, Class C motorhomes average 18 to 22 L/100 km, and large Class A rigs can climb to 25 L/100 km. For a 500 km loop to Mont-Tremblant and back, budget roughly CAD $150 to $250 in fuel depending on RV size. Pro tip: fill up at the Costco in Vaudreuil-Dorion (just 15 minutes from Rigaud) before you head out, it is consistently the cheapest diesel and gas in the region.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Rigaud?

Book early for peace of mind. SEPAQ campgrounds (including Parc national d'Oka, the closest provincial park) open reservations months ahead of the summer season through reservation.sepaq.com, and waterfront sites at Oka are typically gone within days for July and August weekends. For private campgrounds like Camping Choisy or Camping Domaine Lausanne, aim for 2 to 3 months ahead for peak summer, or a few weeks ahead for May, June, and September. Pro tip: if you struck out on weekends, Sunday to Thursday stays in Rigaud-area campgrounds are almost always available last-minute, and many hosts will adjust pickup times to match.

What is driving like around Rigaud?

Driving conditions around Rigaud are some of the most RV-friendly in Quebec. Autoroute 40 (the Trans-Canada) runs right past town with wide lanes, generous shoulders, and clear English-French signage, and Highway 342 along the river is a scenic, low-traffic backroad perfect for easing into RV driving. The terrain is flat to gently rolling (Mont Rigaud only rises 230 metres), so no white-knuckle mountain passes. Watch for: spring potholes in April-May, sudden summer thunderstorms that can reduce visibility, and the occasional deer crossing on Chemin de la Grande-Ligne at dawn and dusk. Avoid driving large Class A rigs through the narrow streets of Old Rigaud village, stick to the autoroute and major routes, and you will have an easy, relaxed drive.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Rigaud?

You will find excellent amenities at the best campgrounds near Rigaud. Camping Choisy and Camping Domaine Lausanne offer full hookups (30 amp electrical, fresh water, sewer at each site), hot showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, and on-site dump stations. Parc national d'Oka has electrical-only sites (no sewer at the pad), a centralized dump station, potable water fill points, modern washrooms, and a swimming beach. Most private campgrounds in the region also have pools, playgrounds, and small convenience stores. Pro tip: top up fresh water before leaving the campground, fill points along Autoroute 40 are spaced far apart, especially heading north toward the Laurentians.

Expect comfortable sleeping for 2 to 8 people, a full kitchen with fridge, propane stove, microwave, and sink, an indoor bathroom with shower and toilet on most Class C and larger units, air conditioning, a propane furnace for cool spring and fall nights, and seatbelts for every passenger (always confirm the seatbelt count matches your group). Many motorhome rental listings in Rigaud also include outdoor awnings, BBQs, camping chairs, and basic kitchen kits, with Wi-Fi and generators as common add-ons. Pro tip: filter listings by sleeps count and bathroom type to match your group, and message the host to confirm whether bedding, towels, and a starter propane tank are included or rented separately.

How does payment and the security deposit work when I rent an RV in Rigaud?

Payment is simple and secure: when you book your RV rental in Rigaud, you pay through RVezy with a credit card directly on the platform (no cash or e-transfer to the host). The nightly rate, service fee, protection plan, and any add-ons are broken out clearly before you confirm. The security deposit is handled separately from your booking payment, with a hold placed on your card close to pickup (amounts vary by RV) and released after return assuming no damage, missing items, or extra cleaning. To avoid issues, do a thorough walkthrough with your host at pickup, take date-stamped photos and videos, return the RV with the same fuel and propane levels, and dump the tanks if required.

Can I rent a winterized RV in Rigaud for a cold-weather or ski trip?

Yes, winter RV adventures from Rigaud are possible, and a small but growing number of hosts offer four-season, winterized rigs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and high-output propane furnaces. Rigaud is well positioned for winter fun: the Mont Rigaud ski hill is right in town, Mont-Tremblant is about 1 hour 45 minutes north, and Laurentian snowmobile trails are roughly an hour away. To find a winter-ready RV in Rigaud, filter by your travel dates and message the host to confirm heated tanks and shore power compatibility. Pro tip: book a host who offers delivery and skip the icy driveway maneuvering by stepping right into a warm, pre-set rig.
