Campgrounds and RV parks near Meadow Lake No. 588, SK

The Rural Municipality of Meadow Lake No. 588 surrounds the City of Meadow Lake in northwestern Saskatchewan and serves as the main staging area for trips into Meadow Lake Provincial Park. Spanning over 1,600 square kilometres and featuring more than 20 lakes, rivers and streams, Meadow Lake Provincial Park is one of the largest provincial parks in Canada. Most RV renters base a trip here around the park's lake-side campgrounds rather than the city itself. The park sits in boreal forest north of the city and is reached from the east via Highway 4 through Dorintosh, or from the west through Pierceland and Goodsoil. It features twelve campgrounds with over 800 campsites, ranging from full-service loops to quieter non-electric sites on smaller lakes. Waterhen Lake - Meadow Lake Provincial Park, Greig Lake - Meadow Lake Provincial Park, Flotten Lake - Meadow Lake Provincial Park, Vivian Lake - Meadow Lake Provincial Park, and Matheson Lake - Meadow Lake Provincial Park give renters a spread of options depending on how developed a site they want. Expect long summer daylight, cool nights, and a mix of paved highways and gravel park roads on the drive in.

Sites inside Meadow Lake Provincial Park are booked through the Saskatchewan Provincial Parks reservation system at parks.saskatchewan.ca. Seasonal campsites open for reservations first, and nightly campsites including Camp-Easy, economy, equestrian, non-electric, electric, and full-service sites open the following day, with reservations opening at 7 a.m. CST each day. Launch dates for each park are published in advance in mid-winter. For peak July and August dates at Greig Lake - Meadow Lake Provincial Park, Waterhen Lake - Meadow Lake Provincial Park, Flotten Lake - Meadow Lake Provincial Park, Vivian Lake - Meadow Lake Provincial Park, or Matheson Lake - Meadow Lake Provincial Park, log in before launch morning with your preferred site and dates already selected. Cancellations do free up sites through the summer, so it is worth rechecking weekly. A valid vehicle entry permit is required on all vehicles while in a provincial park, purchased separately from the campsite reservation.
