Campgrounds and RV parks near Center Point, AL

Center Point is an unincorporated community in Jefferson County, Alabama, on the northeast side of the Birmingham metro. For RV travelers, it works as a practical base: interstate access is close, grocery and fuel stops are plentiful, and several of Alabama's better-known camping destinations sit within a short drive. Most overnight options fall into two buckets. Private RV parks in and around Birmingham, such as Carson Village Moblie Home and RV Park and Hoover RV Park, tend to offer full hookups, longer-stay setups, and easier big-rig access. State-run parks, led by Oak Mountain State Park, Alabama's largest state park at roughly 11,861 acres just outside Birmingham in Pelham, deliver wooded sites, lake access, and trail systems. Further north, Rickwood Caverns State Park adds a smaller, quieter campground built around a limestone cave system. Between these choices, RV travelers can pick between hookup-heavy convenience close to town and more traditional state-park camping within about an hour's drive of Center Point.

Alabama State Parks handles reservations centrally through reservealapark.com or by phone at the individual park. The same system covers Oak Mountain State Park, Rickwood Caverns State Park, and the Equestrian - Oak Mountain State Park loop. Sites for Oak Mountain typically open for booking well ahead of arrival, so weekends and holidays should be reserved as early as possible. Minimum-stay requirements can apply on holiday weekends and during peak season, and rates vary by date, site type, and hookups. Backcountry and backpacking sites at Oak Mountain require in-person check-in at the campground office before sunset. Private parks such as Carson Village Moblie Home and RV Park and Hoover RV Park take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites and are often the better fallback when state-park loops are full.
