Campgrounds near Hollins, Alabama
Hollins sits in Coosa County in central Alabama, within easy driving distance of Lake Martin, Logan Martin Lake, and the Talladega National Forest foothills. The area suits RV travelers looking for lake-based camping, small county parks, and full-hookup private resorts without the crowds of larger metro destinations.
Wind Creek State Park, south of Alexander City on Alabama Highway 128, is one of the largest state-owned campgrounds in the United States and serves as the public's access to Lake Martin. To the northwest, Logan Landing RV Resort and Cabins sits on 142 wooded acres on Lake Logan Martin, a 15,000 acre lake popular with boaters and fishermen, and Kymulga Grist Mill and Park is a small county-style park in Talladega County near Childersburg, built around a historic mill and covered bridge.
Smaller options in the immediate Hollins area include Real Nice & Easy RV Park and Franks Point Of View LLC, both closer to town than the lake destinations and useful for shorter stays or overflow when state park sites are full.
Things to do near Hollins
Water recreation drives most trips. Wind Creek's shoreline on Lake Martin is an angler's paradise, with crappie, bluegill, and striped bass among the species available, and several fishing tournaments are scheduled at the park each year. Wind Creek is also a stop on Alabama's Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail.
At Kymulga, visitors can tour the historic covered bridge and mill along Talladega Creek. The park offers partial hookup RV sites near the historic grist mill and bridge, with fishing in the river, walking trails, and campsites near the creek in a primarily wooded area.
Motor-sports fans have easy access as well. Talladega Superspeedway is only about 15 miles from Logan Landing, and the Barber Sports Museum houses a collection of almost 750 vintage and modern motorcycles and race cars.

Central Alabama has a humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. Highs range from a moderate 52F in January to about 90F in July, with nighttime lows near 37F in January and around 70F during July. Spring and fall are the most comfortable stretches for RV travel, with warm days, cool nights, and lower humidity than midsummer.
Summer weekends around Lake Martin and Logan Martin are the busiest of the year. Wind Creek is popular with residents from across central Alabama, and holiday windows around Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day book earliest. Reserve well in advance for a summer waterfront site.
Winter is the quiet season. Logan Landing stays open year round and welcomes snowbirds through the winter. Overnight freezes are possible, so RV plumbing precautions are wise on cold nights. Fall brings hardwood color along Talladega Creek and steadier lake temperatures for late-season fishing.
How to book campgrounds near Hollins
Wind Creek State Park uses the Alabama State Parks reservation system at reserve.alapark.com. Reservations can be made through the Alabama State Parks reservation system online or by calling the park office directly, and booking well in advance is recommended given the popularity of this campground, especially during summer months and holidays.
Private resorts including Logan Landing RV Resort and Cabins take bookings directly. Contact Logan Landing for reservations and other enquiries, or use the online booking form. Kymulga Grist Mill and Park handles reservations by phone through the mill office, and smaller local sites near Hollins such as Real Nice & Easy RV Park and Franks Point Of View LLC also book direct. Summer weekends and race weekends near Talladega should be booked several weeks out.
What to expect
Sites range from full-hookup resort pads to basic partial-hookup county park spots. Wind Creek is home to one of the largest state-operated campgrounds in the United States, with 586 campsites, all with water and electrical hookups, 157 waterfront sites, and 268 sites with sewer hookups. The park's 39 renovated sites have 16-foot-wide and 60-foot-long concrete pads, so larger rigs fit comfortably when those sites are available.
Kymulga is a smaller operation: 12 partial hookup RV sites near a historic grist mill and bridge, with fishing in the river. Cell coverage varies by lake cove and campground. Logan Landing has a large number of campsites for all sizes of campers and RVs, and all sites are full hook-up. Expect wooded, quiet settings rather than parking-lot style rows.
