Campgrounds and RV parks near Reece City, AL

Reece City sits in Etowah County in northeast Alabama, a few miles from Attalla and Gadsden along the Coosa River corridor. Neely Henry Lake, formed on the Coosa River by Alabama Power's Neely Henry Dam in 1966, anchors the local RV scene, and the reservoir covers 11,200 surface acres with about 339 miles of shoreline. Most nearby campgrounds cluster along the lake or its feeder creeks, making waterfront sites the norm rather than the exception. The closest RV parks are privately operated. The Cove Lakeside RV Resort and Campground centers on a 22-acre private spring-fed lake and accepts all RV sizes with full hookups, 30 and 50-amp service, and internet. River Rocks Landing and Joyland RV Park round out the small-park options in the immediate area, while Greensport RV Park and Campground sits on Neely Henry Lake in nearby Ashville with full hookups, 30 and 50-amp electric, water, and sewer. Bigs Wills Creek Campground, off Highway 77 in Attalla, is the creek-tubing option in the group and draws families in summer. Together the five parks give renters a mix of quiet lakeside, marina-style, and creekside stays within a short drive of I-59.

All five parks in this area are privately operated, so reservations go directly through each campground rather than a state or federal system. Most accept online booking, phone reservations, or both. The Cove Lakeside RV Resort and Campground uses an online reservation system that lets guests view the campground map and pick a preferred site in advance, and Greensport RV Park and Campground, River Rocks Landing, and Joyland RV Park handle bookings the same way through their own sites or by phone. For summer weekends and holiday periods, book several weeks out for waterfront and pull-through sites. Big rigs should confirm site length and turning radius when booking, since not every site at every park is set up for 40-foot-plus coaches.
