Campgrounds and RV parks near Meadview, AZ

Meadview sits on Grapevine Mesa at roughly 3,300 feet on the Arizona side of Lake Mead National Recreation Area, near the transition where Lake Mead ends and the Colorado River enters the western Grand Canyon. The community is surrounded on three sides by the recreation area and serves as a close base for the Grand Canyon West rim and Skywalk, with South Cove providing the nearest boat access on Lake Mead about 10 miles north of town. Meadview also anchors one of the densest Joshua tree stands in the region, on the Grapevine Mesa. RV travelers typically choose between full-hookup private parks in town and dispersed sites on public land inside the recreation area. Meadview RV Park & Cozy Cabins sits within the community itself and offers RV sites and cabins, while Happy Trails Campground and Mini Motel and Happy Trails Campground add smaller-scale RV, tent, and motel options nearby. For a more remote stay, Lake Mead National Recreation Area - Gregs Hideout provides primitive shoreline camping down a long, rough access road. Grand Canyon West, about 20 miles east by road, is operated by the Hualapai Tribe and runs its own separate lodging and camping.

Private parks in town, including Meadview RV Park & Cozy Cabins and Happy Trails Campground and Mini Motel, are booked directly through the operator or third-party platforms rather than a federal portal. Reserve several weeks ahead for spring and fall weekends and for holiday periods, when Las Vegas overflow pushes demand east. Developed campgrounds inside Lake Mead National Recreation Area are managed by the National Park Service. Most sites, including Temple Bar, are first-come, first-served, while the Boulder Beach Group Site and Callville Bay campground are reservable on Recreation.gov with a rolling window that opens six months in advance. Dispersed shoreline sites along Pierce Ferry Road, including Gregs Hideout, are first-come, first-served and subject to NPS stay limits and current fire restrictions. Grand Canyon West is a separate Hualapai Tribe operation with its own ticketing and lodging booked through the tribe.
