Campgrounds and RV parks near Fordyce, AR

Fordyce sits in the timber country of south-central Arkansas, roughly halfway between Little Rock and the Louisiana line along U.S. 167. The town serves as a practical base for RV travelers exploring the piney woods, the Ouachita River corridor, and a cluster of quiet state parks within an easy drive. The closest developed camping is at Moro Bay State Park, a year-round Arkansas State Parks facility with 23 spacious full hookup campsites located where Moro Bay and Raymond Lake join the Ouachita River, plus five rental cabins. West of Fordyce, White Oak Lake State Park sits on the shore of Lower White Oak Lake adjacent to Poison Springs State Forest, with 41 campsites offering water and electric hookups and 4 tent sites. Private options include Gator Den RV Park and JBs RV Park and Campground for travelers who want simpler overnight hookups. For a longer drive north toward Hot Springs, Lake Catherine State Park offers additional lakeside sites in a more mountainous setting. Together, these parks give RV travelers a mix of full-service hookups, waterfront access, and shaded pine-forest scenery.

Arkansas state park campsites are booked through the state's central system. Reservations are available via reserve.arkansasstateparks.com or by calling 888-287-2757, and campsites may be reserved up to twelve months in advance. Waterfront and full-hookup sites at Moro Bay State Park go first for spring and fall weekends, so booking as early as possible is advised. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out time is 3:00 p.m. A non-refundable reservation deposit equal to the first night is required, and any cancellations will result in the loss of the deposit. Campsites are limited to fourteen rental nights within a thirty-day period. Private parks such as Gator Den RV Park and JBs RV Park and Campground typically take reservations directly by phone. Confirm rig length limits and hookup amperage before booking a larger motorhome.
