Campgrounds and RV parks near Landmark, AR

Pinnacle Mountain State Park sits west of Little Rock and is the region's marquee outdoor destination. The day-use park features more than 33 miles of trails, including the West Summit and East Summit routes that lead to views of Lake Maumelle, the Arkansas River Valley, and the Ouachita Mountains. Roughly 19 miles of mountain biking trails, part of the Monument Trails system, add cross-country, downhill, and flow sections. Downtown Little Rock adds the Clinton Presidential Library, the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, and the River Market district. Paddlers can rent kayaks or paddleboards at Pinnacle Mountain's self-serve kiosk on the Big Maumelle, and anglers fish the Arkansas River for crappie, bream, and hybrid bass. The paved Arkansas River Trail links riverfront parks between Little Rock and North Little Rock for cycling and walking.

Central Arkansas has a humid subtropical climate with hot, usually humid summers, though late summer can be subject to drought. Spring and fall are the most comfortable windows for RV travel. Little Rock experiences a prolonged spring wet season, with heavy rainfall a distinct possibility from March through May, and a secondary wet season peaking in November and December. Severe thunderstorms and tornado watches are common in April and May. Summer highs regularly push into the 90s Fahrenheit, and humidity is intense. Highs in the 90s can occur at Little Rock from May to October, including most days during July and August, and typically eight days a year reach 100 Fahrenheit or more. Shaded, hookup sites with reliable power for air conditioning are worth the extra planning in July and August. Fall brings cooler nights, lower rainfall, and strong color in the Ouachitas. Winter is short and mild by regional standards, with occasional freezes and rare snow, and it is prime time to spot wintering bald eagles along the Arkansas River.

Landmark itself is a quiet residential community off Arch Street Pike, not a tourist zone, so expect to drive for groceries, dining, and attractions. Interstate 530 provides a fast connection north to downtown Little Rock and south toward Pine Bluff, while I-430 and I-40 tie the metro together for day trips. RV renters should plan for tree cover at many sites in the surrounding pine forest, which is welcome shade in summer but can complicate satellite reception and slide-out clearance. Roads into some smaller private parks are narrow, so confirm rig length limits when booking a Class A or long fifth wheel. Cell coverage is generally reliable across the metro, mosquitoes are active from late spring through early fall along the river bottoms, and ticks are common on wooded trails. Standard Arkansas fishing licenses are required for anglers 16 and older on the rivers and lakes.
