Campgrounds and RV parks near Stephens, AR

Stephens sits in Ouachita County in south Arkansas, roughly halfway between Camden and Magnolia along U.S. Highway 79. The surrounding West Gulf Coastal Plain is a mix of pine forest, mineral springs, and small fishing lakes, giving RV travelers a low-traffic base for exploring southwest Arkansas and the Louisiana border country. Two Arkansas state parks anchor the area. Logoly State Park sits six miles north of Magnolia in Columbia County and surrounds an area of mineral springs across 368 acres. White Oak Lake State Park lies among the wooded, rolling hills of southwest Arkansas and represents the natural diversity of the West Gulf Coastal Plain region on the shore of Lower White Oak Lake. For full-hookup RV travel, private parks fill in the gaps. Gator Den RV Park in El Dorado sits about 30 miles south, and Pleasure Point Marina RV Resort and Valhalla Motorcycle Camp are within an hour's drive across the Louisiana line. The mix suits families looking for a quiet fishing trip rather than a big-attraction vacation.

Arkansas State Parks uses a single reservation system for its campgrounds. Sites at White Oak Lake are bookable through the state parks portal at reserve.arkansasstateparks.com, and park staff can be reached by phone for help. A non-refundable reservation deposit equal to the first night's non-discounted rate plus tax is required, cancellations forfeit that deposit, and campsites are limited to fourteen rental nights within a thirty-day period. Check-in and check-out are both at 3:00 p.m. Logoly works differently. Individual camping and pavilion use are on a first-come basis, and users of group campsites or the pavilion must register at the visitor center before use. Private parks such as Gator Den and Pleasure Point Marina RV Resort take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites, with popular weekends filling early.
