Campgrounds and RV parks near La Cañada Flintridge, CA

La Cañada Flintridge sits at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains, directly below the Angeles National Forest and bordered by Interstate 210 and Angeles Crest Highway (CA-2). The city itself has no RV park, so renters base out of private resorts in the surrounding valleys and the San Fernando Valley, then make day trips into the forest, Pasadena, and central Los Angeles. The closest full-hookup option is Soledad Canyon RV and Camping Resort, a Thousand Trails property in Acton at the base of the San Gabriels, reached by taking CA-2 over the mountains or looping via I-5 and CA-14. Los Angeles RV Resort and The Californian RV Resort sit east of the city in the San Gabriel Valley with easy freeway access. To the west, Hollywood RV Park sits in the San Fernando Valley with access to Hollywood, Burbank, and downtown Los Angeles, and Rosewood Mobile Home and RV Park offers another valley option. Tent campers can reach Chilao Campground via Angeles Crest Highway, about 26 miles northeast of La Cañada Flintridge.

Private RV resorts in the area take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone, and most accept online booking several months out. Soledad Canyon RV and Camping Resort is a Thousand Trails property, so members book through the Thousand Trails system while non-members can reserve as regular guests. Summer weekends, spring break, and holidays fill first, so reserve four to eight weeks ahead for those dates. National forest sites are handled separately through Recreation.gov, which manages reservable federal sites. Chilao Campground is first-come, first-served, and reserving or holding sites is not allowed, while group campgrounds along the Angeles Crest such as Meadow require advance reservations. An Adventure Pass is required for parking at most trailheads and day-use areas in the Angeles National Forest.
