Campgrounds and RV parks near Duck Key, FL

Duck Key sits in the Middle Keys near mile marker 61 on the Overseas Highway, roughly midway between Key Largo and Key West. The island itself is largely a private resort community, so most RV campgrounds cluster a few miles east and west on Grassy Key, in Marathon, and on Long Key. All are within a short drive of Duck Key over the Overseas Highway (US-1), the only road connecting the Keys. The closest options are private, full-hookup RV resorts nearby. Jolly Roger RV Resort offers full hookup sites with 30 and 50 amp electrical service, Sun Outdoors Marathon sits near mile marker 59 with a marina and fishing dock, and Grassy Key RV Park And Resort provides RV sites with water and electric on the Gulfside. For a public-land alternative, Curry Hammock State Park has 28 campsites with water and electric along the beach and is located between Key Largo and Key West. Farther north on Long Key, Fiesta Key RV Resort and Marina rounds out the shortlist for larger rigs seeking waterfront sites.

Reservations are essential for the Florida Keys, particularly during winter months when parks reach capacity, and the state park option books out fastest. At Curry Hammock State Park, reservations may be made up to 11 months in advance by calling (800) 326-3521 or visiting the state park reservation website, and it is very hard to reserve a site, with a recent spot-check showing not a single day available in the next 11 months. Florida residents receive a 30-day head start on the booking window, so non-residents effectively see a 10-month lead time. Private resorts on Grassy Key, in Marathon, and on Long Key book directly through each property's website or phone line. Winter reservations at the private parks typically open six to twelve months out and popular sites can fill quickly, so plan well ahead.
