Campgrounds and RV parks near Lakewood Park, FL

Lakewood Park is an unincorporated community in St. Lucie County on Florida's Treasure Coast, a few miles inland from the Atlantic and just north of Fort Pierce. For RV renters, it functions as a quiet, low-traffic base with quick access to Interstate 95, US-1, and A1A beach routes. Campground options in the immediate area lean toward mid-size private RV parks with full hookups rather than tent-heavy public campgrounds. Midway Estates Co-Op sits in Vero Beach along US-1, and Tanglewood Village is also close to the community, while Road Runner Travel Resort Campground and Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey provide standard RV amenities closer to town. Causeway Cove Marina adds a waterfront option near the Fort Pierce Inlet. Public land camping is limited within a short drive, so most RV renters combine a private-park stay here with day trips to Fort Pierce Inlet State Park on North Hutchinson Island and Savannas Preserve State Park to the south. The area suits snowbirds, families visiting the beaches, and travelers moving along the I-95 corridor between Orlando and South Florida.

Private RV parks in the area, including Midway Estates Co-Op, Tanglewood Village, Road Runner Travel Resort Campground, Fort Pierce Downtown KOA Journey, and Causeway Cove Marina, take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Winter months fill first, so book monthly snowbird stays as early as the previous spring or summer. For state park camping at nearby options such as Savannas Preserve or Jonathan Dickinson State Park, reservations go through the Florida State Parks system. Florida residents can make reservations for cabins and RV, tent, boat and equestrian campsites 11 months in advance, while non-residents can make reservations 10 months in advance. New sites become available for reservation daily at 8 a.m. Eastern time. Booking is very competitive, with campsites often booked within minutes of the reservation window opening.
