Camping near Nocatee, Florida
Nocatee sits in northeastern St. Johns County, just inland from the Atlantic coast between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. There is no campground inside the master-planned community itself, so RV travelers base out of parks clustered around St. Augustine, roughly 20 to 30 minutes south via US-1 or I-95, and along the coast east of I-95.
Stagecoach RV Park is one of the closest full-hookup options, sitting off I-95 near St. Augustine. North Beach Camp Resort places campers on a barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, north of the historic district. Sun Outdoors St. Augustine, Fleetwood RV Park, and St. Augustine RV Resort round out the nearby options, most with pull-through sites, full hookups, and pools.
Anastasia State Park, on Anastasia Island east of downtown St. Augustine, is the primary public campground in the area and books through the Florida State Parks reservation system.
Things to do near Nocatee
Historic downtown St. Augustine anchors most trips, with the Castillo de San Marcos, St. George Street, and the Bridge of Lions all within a compact walkable core. Families can add the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, the Lightner Museum, and the working lighthouse on Anastasia Island.
For beach days, Vilano Beach, St. Augustine Beach, and the four miles of protected shoreline inside Anastasia State Park all sit within a short drive of Nocatee. Kayaks, paddleboards, and bikes can be rented inside Anastasia State Park, and the Salt Run lagoon is calm enough for family paddling.
Closer to Nocatee, the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve offers hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and quiet Atlantic beach access along scenic A1A.

Fall and spring are the most comfortable windows for RV travel to the Nocatee and St. Augustine area, with mild temperatures, lower humidity, and fewer bugs than the summer months. Snowbird demand runs from roughly January through March, when private parks near St. Augustine fill with monthly guests and weekly rates tighten.
Summer brings hot, humid days, frequent afternoon thunderstorms, and heavy mosquito and no-see-um pressure in wooded campgrounds. It also coincides with Atlantic hurricane season, which runs June through November and peaks from mid-August through October. Campers should track National Hurricane Center advisories, since coastal parks can issue evacuation notices with limited notice.
Winter is generally mild, with cool nights and occasional cold snaps. Freezing nights are uncommon but do occur, most often in January. Water and sewer connections at exposed campsites can freeze briefly during cold fronts, so travelers should be ready to disconnect hoses on the coldest nights.

Our first time renting an RV and we didn’t know what to expect. Delivery of the RV was prompt and Big Jeff set everything up for us. Many of the items we brought were already there for use which was really great. I’m particular about our pillows and towels so we brought those along with our toiletries but everything else was there! Fantastic experience and great service with the delivery, setup and tear down. Would highly recommend.

Meet all our expectations. Will definitely use Big Jeff for future needs.

How to book campgrounds near Nocatee
Anastasia State Park's 139 sites are booked through the Florida State Parks reservation system at reserve.floridastateparks.org or by phone at 1-800-326-3521. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance. Weekend and holiday dates disappear quickly, especially during spring and around amphitheater concerts.
Private parks including Stagecoach RV Park, North Beach Camp Resort, Sun Outdoors St. Augustine, Fleetwood RV Park, and St. Augustine RV Resort take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Booking policies vary by operator, and some prefer a phone call over online booking. For peak winter and spring stays, plan to reserve well in advance, and longer for holiday weekends.
What to expect at Nocatee-area campgrounds
Most private RV parks in the St. Augustine area offer full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service, paved or gravel pads, pool access, and laundry. Sites at coastal parks such as North Beach Camp Resort tend to be sandy and shaded by live oaks and palmettos, which cuts summer heat but can limit satellite reception.
Anastasia State Park has water and electric at all sites but no sewer hookups, with a dump station available. Sites are wooded and private, and the park caps RV length at 38 feet. Music from the nearby St. Augustine Amphitheatre can occasionally carry into the campground, though by city ordinance it must end by 10 p.m.
Most parks are pet friendly on leash, though pets are not permitted on Anastasia's beach or boardwalks.

Renting an RV in Nocatee is simple. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and that's it. No special RV endorsement or commercial driver's license is required in Florida, even for larger Class A motorhomes. International guests are welcome too, just bring your home-country license along with an International Driving Permit. RVezy verifies approved drivers right inside the platform during booking, so there's no paperwork hassle on pickup day. Most first-time renters are surprised how quick the approval process is. help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs RV rental in Nocatee protected if something goes wrong?
Every RV rental in Nocatee, FL booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance included, so you can hit US-1 or I-95 with peace of mind. The protection plan covers most damages to the vehicle, and you choose your coverage level during the booking process. It's not the same as personal auto insurance, but it provides substantial financial protection for the trip. Roadside support is there for flat tires, lockouts, jump starts, and towing if you ever need it. Most renters never use it, but knowing help is one call away makes that first Nocatee RV trip feel a lot less intimidating.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionWhat happens if I need to cancel my Nocatee RV booking?
Booking is low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and there's a grace period after booking where you can get a full refund. Beyond that, refund eligibility depends on how far in advance you cancel and circumstances like named storms, which matter in Northeast Florida during hurricane season (June 1 to November 30). The current cancellation terms are spelled out on the RVezy Help Center, so you'll know exactly where you stand before confirming. Pro tip: if a tropical storm looks like it might affect your dates, reach out to RVezy support early. The team handles weather-related issues every year and helps Nocatee guests navigate changes smoothly.

Yes, RV delivery in Nocatee is one of the most popular options on the platform, especially for first-time renters. Many hosts will drive the rig to your campground, vacation rental, or driveway in Nocatee, Ponte Vedra, or St. Augustine, then set up the slide-outs, hookups, and awning before walking you through every system. Delivery fees are set by each host and often scale with distance, and some hosts offer free delivery within a set radius. This is perfect if you're nervous about towing or maneuvering a big motorhome. Filter listings by Delivery to see hosts offering this service, and message them to confirm your specific drop-off spot.

Anastasia State Park (a top-rated beachfront campground) and Pacetti's Marina & Campground on Trout Creek round out the list. Pro tip: Florida State Park sites can be booked up to 11 months ahead through the Florida State Parks reservation system, so set a calendar reminder if you want a coveted Anastasia oceanfront site.
floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/anastasia-state-parkWhen is the best time of year to take an RV trip from Nocatee?

Winter highs average around 65°F with cool nights in the 40s and 50s, which is great sleeping weather inside a heated RV. Spring (March and April) brings warm Atlantic water and pleasant beach days. Summer (June through September) is hot and humid with afternoon thunderstorms and peak hurricane risk, though it's also when nearby beaches really come alive. Local tip: shoulder season (late April to early May) gives you warm beach days, lower rental rates, and fewer crowds at St. Augustine's historic district than March snowbird peak.
weather.gov/jax/I've never rented an RV before. Is Nocatee a good place to start?
Nocatee is one of the easiest places in Florida to try RVing for the first time. The terrain is flat, the roads (especially Nocatee Parkway and US-1) are wide and well-maintained, and you're never more than an hour from a major campground. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering hookups, slide-outs, tanks, propane, and driving tips before you leave the driveway. You can also message your host anytime during the trip with questions. If you'd rather skip driving altogether, book a host who offers delivery and setup. Pro tip: take a short practice loop in a large, empty parking lot before heading out to get comfortable with the rig's size.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037875833-First-time-renter-tipsWhat if I break down during my RV trip in Florida?
You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you're on I-95 near Nocatee or deep in the Ocala National Forest. The service handles flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified service center. Your host is also a direct resource since they know their rig inside out, and most are quick to answer texts. Pro tip: before pulling away from pickup, save the RVezy support number and your host's number to your phone, and snap a photo of the tire pressure sticker inside the driver's door so you're ready for anything Florida throws at you.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Nocatee RV rental out of state or into Canada?
Yes, interstate travel in your Nocatee RV rental is generally allowed, which makes RV road trips from Nocatee fantastic. Popular routes include north to Savannah, GA (about 2.5 hours), the Outer Banks (around 9 hours), or south to the Keys (about 8 hours). Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and protection coverage, so message the host before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because protection coverage does not extend there. Always let your host know your planned route, especially for trips spanning multiple states, so they can confirm mileage and any add-ons. Most Florida hosts are happy to accommodate multi-state itineraries with a heads-up.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on a Nocatee RV trip?
Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, but it's easy to budget. Florida gas prices typically run close to the national average, often around $3.00 to $3.50 per gallon in the Jacksonville/Nocatee area. Class B campervans get the best mileage at roughly 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 10 to 14 MPG, and Class A rigs sit around 7 to 10 MPG. For a typical 4-day, 400-mile loop from Nocatee to St. Augustine and Daytona in a Class C, expect roughly $100 to $150 in fuel. Pro tip: most diesel stations along I-95 have RV-friendly truck lanes, and apps like GasBuddy show the cheapest stops along your route.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Nocatee?
For the best campgrounds near Nocatee, book early. Florida State Parks (including Anastasia, Faver-Dykes, and Gamble Rogers Memorial) accept reservations up to 11 months ahead through the Florida State Parks reservation system. Snowbird season sites at private parks like Stagecoach RV Park or North Beach Camp Resort often fill 4 to 6 months out for January through March. Summer and fall stays are easier to grab 2 to 4 weeks ahead. Pro tip: if you strike out on Anastasia State Park (the most coveted beachfront campground in the region), check daily for cancellations starting two weeks before your dates. Spots open up surprisingly often, especially Sunday through Thursday.
floridastateparks.org/things-to-do/campingWhat are the driving conditions like around Nocatee?
Driving around Nocatee is RV-friendly in just about every way. The terrain is flat, the main routes (Nocatee Parkway, US-1, FL-A1A, and I-95) are wide with good shoulders, and there are no mountain grades or tight switchbacks anywhere in St. Johns County. Things to watch for: summer afternoon thunderstorms can drop visibility quickly between 2 and 6 PM, so plan driving for mornings. Hurricane season (June 1 to November 30) occasionally brings evacuation traffic, but Florida's signage is excellent. Avoid driving tall rigs under the low-clearance bridges along historic A1A in downtown St. Augustine. Pro tip: the Nocatee Town Center area has wide parking lots that are great for a quick practice loop before heading north into Jacksonville traffic.

Private parks like North Beach Camp Resort and Stagecoach RV Park offer full hookups (30/50 amp electric, water, and sewer), Wi-Fi, laundry, pools, and dump stations. Florida State Parks like Anastasia and Faver-Dykes provide water and electric at most sites plus a centralized dump station, but no sewer hookups at the pad. Potable water fill stations are available at every state park entrance. Pro tip: many St. Johns County campgrounds offer free dump station use for guests, and the Pilot Travel Center on US-1 near St. Augustine has public RV dump and freshwater fill for non-campers passing through.
floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/anastasia-state-park/things-to-doWhat's inside the RVs available for rent in Nocatee?
Nocatee RV rentals are basically vacation homes on wheels. Expect comfortable beds (most sleep 4 to 8), a full kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge and sink, a bathroom with shower and toilet, dinette seating, and climate control with both air conditioning and heat (essential for Florida humidity). Many include a flat-screen TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, and exterior speakers for beach-day vibes. Higher-end Class A and Class C motorhomes often have generators, residential refrigerators, and Wi-Fi boosters. Each rental's listing shows seatbelted travel seats so you'll know how many people the rig can safely transport on the road. Check each listing's amenity list, and message the host to confirm specifics like generator hours or pet supplies.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Nocatee,FloridaWhat add-ons can I get with my Nocatee RV rental?
Many Nocatee hosts offer add-ons that take the work out of your trip. Common extras include kitchen kits, bedding and linen packages, camping chairs and outdoor rugs, propane tank fills, bike racks, generator usage, and Starlink or mobile Wi-Fi. Pickup is typically at the host's home in Nocatee, Ponte Vedra, or nearby St. Johns County, with pickup and drop-off times confirmed by the host. Mileage policies vary by listing (100 to 150 free miles per day is most common), and you can pay for additional miles either upfront or at return. Pro tip: bundling add-ons during booking is often easier than adding them later, so build your wish list before you check out.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Nocatee,FloridaHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and handled entirely through the RVezy platform, no cash or checks exchanged with the host. You'll pay the rental total at booking using a credit or debit card, which secures your dates. A refundable security deposit is authorized separately before pickup and released back to you after return, assuming the RV comes back in the condition it left. To avoid issues: take photos at pickup and drop-off, return the rig with the same fuel and propane levels, dump the tanks if your host requires it, and report any incident right away. Hosts and RVezy support both want a smooth handoff, so communication is your best friend.
