Campgrounds and RV parks near Palm Beach Shores, FL

The beach is the main draw. Peanut Island, reachable by a short shuttle or kayak from Riviera Beach, has calm swim areas, a snorkel lagoon, and picnic pavilions. The Lake Worth Inlet is popular for fishing charters and dive trips to nearby reefs and the Blue Heron Bridge site. Families often build a day around the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, the Palm Beach Zoo, and the South Florida Science Center in West Palm Beach. Worth Avenue and CityPlace add walkable dining and shopping. For active days, Jonathan Dickinson State Park offers roughly 25 miles of hiking trails plus paved and off-road bike routes, paddling on the Loxahatchee, and ranger-led boat tours to the Trapper Nelson homestead. Riverbend Park in Jupiter is another easy paddle and cycling stop.

The dry season runs roughly November through April, with warm days, lower humidity, and the year's smallest chance of rain. This is peak RV season in South Florida. Snowbird parks fill months ahead, and monthly-stay sites at properties like Vacation Inn Resort and Juno Beach RV Park are typically booked out through winter. The wet season lasts from late May into October, bringing near-daily afternoon thunderstorms, high humidity, and heat indices well above the actual temperature. Atlantic hurricane season officially runs June 1 through November 30, with the highest activity in August, September, and October. Renters should track National Hurricane Center advisories and understand each park's evacuation policy. Jonathan Dickinson State Park is open year-round. Florida residents can reserve up to 11 months ahead and non-residents up to 10 months, with popular winter and spring weekends often taken the day the window opens. Late-summer availability is generally easier.

Most parks around Palm Beach Shores are flat, paved or concrete-pad properties with full hookups, 30 and 50 amp service, and mature palm cover. Cell coverage is strong across the county, and Wi-Fi is standard at private resorts. Expect an older, snowbird demographic at many sites in winter and a quieter, more transient mix in summer. The barrier island itself has no RV parking or overnight camping, so plan to leave the rig at the campground and drive or rideshare to the beach. Parking near the inlet and public beaches fills early on weekends. At Jonathan Dickinson, expect a more rustic setting: no sewer at The River campground, a dump station at Pine Grove about four miles away, sandy sites, and active wildlife including raccoons and armadillos. Secure food overnight.
