Campgrounds and RV parks near Williston Highlands, FL

Williston Highlands is a small unincorporated community in Levy County, north-central Florida, positioned between Goethe State Forest and the spring-fed karst country south of Gainesville. RV travelers use it as a base for freshwater springs, forest trails, and equestrian country, with the town of Williston a short drive away for groceries, fuel, and dump stations. Campground options in the immediate area cover a range of styles. Devils Den Springs Resort offers tent camping, RV camping, and four individual cabins that each sleep up to four, with sites built around its underground spring. Williston Crossings RV Resort caters to larger rigs with full hookups and resort amenities, while Goethe Trailhead Ranch RV Campground and Black Prong Equestrian Center serve riders and trail users heading into Goethe State Forest. Primitive tent and RV sites are also available at Goethe State Forest - Black Prong. The surrounding landscape is flat pine flatwoods and hardwood hammock, cut by limestone springs. Most routes into the area come off US-41 or SR-121, and rural two-lane roads mean drivers of longer coaches should plan turns carefully.

Reservation systems vary by property. Reservations are required to snorkel in the Den at Devils Den Springs Resort, and campsite bookings are handled directly through the resort. Privately run parks such as Williston Crossings RV Resort and Goethe Trailhead Ranch RV Campground take bookings through their own websites or by phone, with the longest lead times during winter high season. Primitive sites in Goethe State Forest, including the Black Prong trailhead sites, are managed by the Florida Forest Service and booked through FloridaStateforests.ReserveAmerica.com up to eleven months in advance. For winter travel, booking two to three months out is realistic for full-hookup resorts. Weekend stays around holidays and horse events at Black Prong Equestrian Center should be locked in earlier.
