Puc Buggy Campground at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park offers a shaded, nature-immersed camping experience in the heart of Micanopy, Florida, just south of Gainesville. Spanning nearly 23,000 acres of biologically and historically unique landscape, this preserve is home to wild-roaming bison and horses, over 300 bird species, alligators, and deer across more than 20 distinct biological communities. The campground is well-equipped for RV travelers, featuring 30-amp and 50-amp electrical hookups, water hookups, a dump station, and big-rig-friendly sites. Guests enjoy access to picnic tables, grills, playgrounds, toilets, and firewood, making it ideal for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Pets are welcome on-site. Adventure seekers will appreciate more than 30 miles of trails for hiking and exploration, including the 16-mile paved Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail.
