Campgrounds and RV parks near Ellijay, GA

Ellijay sits in the North Georgia mountains at the edge of the Chattahoochee National Forest, roughly 90 minutes north of Atlanta. The area is a working apple-country town at the confluence of the Cartecay and Ellijay rivers, and it functions as a practical base for RV trips into the southern Appalachians. Trailheads, wineries, and river access are all within a short drive of most campgrounds. RV options range from full-service resorts to rustic riverside sites. Talona Ridge RV Resort and Diamond Lure Campground and RV Resort cater to larger rigs with hookups and paved or gravel pads. Plum Nelly Campground and Toccoa Valley Campgrounds sit closer to the rivers and forest land, drawing tubers and anglers. Amicalola Falls State Park anchors the region to the south, home to Georgia's tallest waterfall and a 7.5-mile hike from the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail at Springer Mountain. Most sites are open year-round, but the busiest windows are spring apple-blossom weekends, summer river season, and October leaf season.
