Campgrounds and RV parks near Lookout Mountain, GA

Lookout Mountain sits on the Georgia-Tennessee border at the northwest corner of Georgia, roughly ten minutes from downtown Chattanooga. The mountain stretches more than ninety miles from Chattanooga south into Alabama, and the Georgia side is anchored by Rock City, Ruby Falls just across the state line, and Cloudland Canyon State Park on the western rim. RV travelers use the area as a base for hiking, waterfalls, Civil War history, and family attractions. Campground options run from full-service commercial parks to a large state-park campground. Raccoon Mountain Caverns & Campground and Lookout Mountain / Chattanooga West KOA Holiday sit close to the mountain and to I-24, with full hookups and family amenities. Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga and Hawkins Pointe RV Park offer additional RV-friendly stays within a short drive. For a state-park experience, the West Rim - Cloudland Canyon State Park campground puts campers on the canyon rim itself, with access to the park's rim trails, waterfalls, and mountain-bike system.

Cloudland Canyon State Park is reserved through the Georgia State Parks system at GaStateParks.org or by phone. Out-of-state visitors can book up to 13 months in advance, and Georgia residents up to 14 months in advance. The park has RV and tent loops on the East Rim and West Rim, plus walk-in tent sites, backcountry sites, yurts, and cottages. Standard campsites are water and electric with a central dump station rather than full hookups. A daily ParkPass is required for parking, paid once per vehicle per stay for overnight guests. Private parks including Raccoon Mountain Caverns & Campground, Lookout Mountain / Chattanooga West KOA Holiday, Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, and Hawkins Pointe RV Park book directly through their own websites. Full-hookup and pull-through sites at these parks book fastest for summer weekends and October foliage.
