Campgrounds and RV parks near Worthington, IN

Worthington sits in Greene County in southwestern Indiana, within easy reach of two Indiana state parks and a small cluster of private campgrounds. The town works well as a base for RV travelers touring the White River valley, Bloomington, and the state forests of the region. Most nearby camping falls within a 30 to 45 minute drive. The closest full-service public option is Shakamak State Park, a lake-focused park near Jasonville with a large campground managed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. To the northeast, McCormick's Creek State Park offers a limestone canyon, waterfalls, and hiking, though its campground has been closed indefinitely as tornado recovery continues, and travelers should confirm status before planning a stay. Private parks fill in the gaps. Hillbilly Acres Campground LLC, Hickory Hills Campground, and Misty Morning Campground provide smaller-scale RV sites with hookups, generally with a more family-owned feel than the state parks.

Indiana state park sites, including those at Shakamak State Park, are booked through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources reservation system on the ReserveAmerica platform. Reservations must be made at least two days ahead of arrival and can be booked up to twelve months in advance for most campsites, with a shorter six-month window on certain sites. Any site not reserved is generally available on arrival, though summer weekends leave little walk-up inventory. The campground at McCormick's Creek State Park remains closed indefinitely, so no camping reservations are available there. A per-vehicle entrance fee applies at all Indiana state parks, with a lower rate for in-state plates and a higher rate for out-of-state vehicles. Annual entrance passes are available for frequent visitors. Private parks such as Hillbilly Acres Campground LLC, Hickory Hills Campground, and Misty Morning Campground are booked directly with the operator by phone or through their own websites.
