For RVers who prefer private facilities or river-access add-ons, Shady Oaks RV Campground and Rock-n-Row Adventures Iowa River Tubing round out the local mix. Most sites in the area are level enough for larger rigs, and dump stations are standard at the state parks.

Iowa DNR parks use a single reservation system. Campsites at Pine Lake, Beeds Lake and Union Grove are booked through iowastateparks.reserveamerica.com. Campsites can be reserved 3 months in advance up to 4 days prior to arrival. Union Grove accepts reservations up to 10:00 pm CST on the day of arrival during the operating season, which gives RV renters flexibility for last-minute weekends. Some campsites at Pine Lake are available on a first-come, first-served basis, useful when the online system shows the park full. A cancellation fee applies for all cancellations. Private options such as Shady Oaks RV Campground are booked directly with the operator, and Rock-n-Row Adventures Iowa River Tubing handles float bookings on its own site.
