Campgrounds and RV parks near Adairville, KY

History is the strongest draw close to town. The Red River Meeting House, near Adairville in Logan County, is the site of the first religious camp meeting in the United States, held in June 1800, and marked the start of the Second Great Awakening. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and remains open year-round from dawn to dusk. A short drive north opens up more options in Logan County, including South Union Shaker Village near Auburn and the SEEK Museum in Russellville. Lake Malone State Park, west of Adairville, features sandstone bluffs around a quiet lake. Heading south, Nashville is under an hour away for music venues, the Grand Ole Opry, and family attractions, making Adairville a practical basecamp for splitting time between rural Kentucky and city days.

Adairville sits in a humid subtropical zone. Spring and fall are the most comfortable stretches for RV travel, with mild days, cool nights, and lower humidity than mid-summer. April and May bring wildflowers and river scenery, while October typically delivers reliable fall color across Logan County. Summer is the busiest camping season and also warm and humid, with July the warmest month and afternoon thunderstorms common. Kentucky State Parks operate campgrounds year-round, though water and other resources are not guaranteed during freezing months. Popular water-adjacent sites near Bowling Green and the Nashville lakes fill quickly on holiday weekends, and advance reservations are strongly recommended during summer and around major events in Nashville. Winter is quiet. Snow is limited, averaging only a few inches for the season, but overnight lows dip below freezing and some private campgrounds reduce services or close seasonal loops. Confirm hookups, bathhouse access, and gate hours before booking a winter stay.

Expect a mix of small-town Kentucky and Nashville-suburb camping. Closer to Adairville, campgrounds tend to be smaller and quieter, set among farmland or along rivers, with basic full-hookup pads, laundry, and modest camp stores. Cell coverage is generally reliable along U.S. 431 but can weaken on back roads. Parks closer to I-65 and Nashville, including Owls Roost Campground in Goodlettsville, offer 30 and 50 amp service, full hookups, a dump station, and a camp store, though the property sits on a hillside where some sites are sloped and interstate noise can carry. Rigs up to about 50 feet are accommodated. Roads into Adairville itself are flat and easy to tow. Plan fuel and grocery stops in Russellville or Bowling Green, since Adairville is a small community with limited services.
