Camping near Concord, Missouri
Concord is an unincorporated census-designated place in St. Louis County, Missouri, tucked into the south-county suburbs between Interstate 255 and U.S. Route 67 (Lindbergh Boulevard). It sits about fifteen miles south of downtown St. Louis, which makes it a practical base for RV travelers who want quick access to the Gateway Arch, Forest Park, and the wider metro area without staying in city traffic.
There is no campground inside Concord itself, but several full-service RV parks sit within a short drive on both sides of the Mississippi. Covered Bridge RV Park and Storage and Safari RV Park serve the Missouri side of the metro, while Belleville Mobile Home and RV Estates, Cahokia RV Parque, and DraftKings at Casino Queen RV Park lie a short hop across the river in the Illinois suburbs.
Expect a Midwest urban-fringe setup: paved or gravel pads, 30 and 50 amp service, full hookups at most parks, and highway access rather than deep woods. Trip planners typically pair one of these parks with day trips to nearby state parks and historic sites in Missouri and Illinois.
Things to do near Concord
The obvious draw is downtown St. Louis. Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site preserves the remains of a major prehistoric Native American city, and downtown St. Louis puts the Gateway Arch, Forest Park with the St. Louis Zoo and free museums, the City Museum, and the Missouri Botanical Garden within easy reach. Busch Stadium and Union Station round out the family shortlist.
Closer to Concord, south-county options include Lone Elk Park, Grant's Trail for biking, and Mastodon State Historic Site just south along I-55. Camping near St. Louis also puts Hawn State Park and Bonne Terre Mine within day-trip range for travelers willing to head south into the Ozark foothills.
For rainy days, plan around indoor anchors: the Saint Louis Science Center, the Magic House children's museum in nearby Kirkwood, and the aquarium at Union Station.

43° / 25°F 62 mmCold with occasional snow; some private parks scale back services
The St. Louis area has a humid continental climate with a wide seasonal swing. On its hottest days, temperatures reach the 100s Fahrenheit, and highs of 90 or more are possible from June through August. Late spring and early summer bring the wettest weather. Spring is the rainiest season due to clashing air masses and afternoon thunderstorms, which continue through summer, though gradually less frequently.
Spring and fall are the most comfortable stretches for RV travel. The best windows to visit St. Louis are mid-April to mid-May and mid-September to mid-October; autumn tends to be drier with steadier temperatures, while spring has longer days. Fall foliage in the surrounding Ozark foothills peaks in mid to late October.
Severe weather matters when planning. St. Louis sits east of the heart of Tornado Alley and is one of the metropolitan areas most affected, with tornadoes more likely in spring and sometimes in autumn. Winters are cold with occasional snow, and some private parks reduce services or close sections in the coldest months, so confirm winter availability before booking.

Booking a campsite near Concord
Private RV parks around Concord and across the river in Illinois handle their own reservations. Covered Bridge RV Park and Storage, Belleville Mobile Home and RV Estates, Cahokia RV Parque, DraftKings at Casino Queen RV Park, and Safari RV Park each book directly by phone or through their websites. Summer weekends, Cardinals home stands, and racing events at World Wide Technology Raceway fill quickly, so book several weeks out for peak dates.
For Missouri state park campgrounds used as day-trip bases or overnight legs, reservations run through the state system. Sites at Missouri State Parks can be reserved up to 12 months in advance, and reservations may also be made by calling toll free 877-ICampMO (877-422-6766). Reservations are recommended, and same-day reservations are accepted online at icampmo.com or by phone up until 7 p.m. the day of arrival.
What to expect on site
The parks nearest Concord function as urban and suburban RV bases rather than nature retreats. Sites are generally level with gravel or paved pads, full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service, on-site laundry, restrooms with showers, and Wi-Fi of variable quality. Typical amenities at Cahokia RV Parque include 50 amp and 30 amp full-service sites, propane during daylight hours, on-site laundry, an outdoor swimming pool in season, a children's playground, Wi-Fi, and clean restrooms with showers.
Because the parks sit close to interstates and, in some cases, casino or racetrack traffic, expect ambient road noise. Cahokia RV Parque is in Cahokia, Illinois, near downtown St. Louis, within about 5 minutes of the Arch, with check-in at noon and check-out at 11 a.m.
Big-rig travelers should confirm pull-through length and low-clearance routes ahead of arrival, especially when approaching from downtown via older bridges.

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Concord, MO?
RV rental in Concord is one of the most budget-friendly ways to explore the St. Louis metro and the Missouri Ozarks. On RVezy, you'll typically find travel trailers from around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes between $175 and $275, and larger Class A coaches a bit higher. Because Concord sits just south of St. Louis, weekday rates are often lower than Six Flags and Cardinals home-game weekends. Tip: shoulder season trips in April or October stretch your dollars furthest while the Ozark foliage shines.

Missouri's standard Class F operator license covers personal recreational vehicle use, including Class A motorhomes, Class C motorhomes, campervans, travel trailers, and fifth wheels, with no Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement required. You'll just need to be 25 or older to book on RVezy, and your ID is verified securely through the platform during checkout. Visiting from another country? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP). That's it. Most first-time renters are pleasantly surprised at how simple the paperwork side really is, leaving you free to focus on the fun part: planning your route.

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a clear cancellation policy that applies to every trip, including a grace period right after booking where you can cancel and receive a full refund. You won't see different policies on different listings, which keeps shopping simple. If a host cancels, RVezy refunds you or provides travel credits so your plans stay protected. Babler Memorial State Park in Wildwood (electric sites in a beautiful Missouri oak forest), Robertsville State Park along the Meramec River (quiet electric sites with fishing), and 370 Lakeside Park in St. Peters (lakefront full hookups north of the city). Tip: Babler and Robertsville fill up quickly on summer weekends, so book through the Missouri State Parks reservation system well in advance.
icampmo1.usedirect.com/MOCampWeb/When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Concord, MO?
The sweet spots for RV camping Concord travelers love are April through early June and September through late October. Spring brings wildflowers, mild 60 to 75 degree days, and dogwoods in bloom across the Ozark Plateau. Fall delivers colorful foliage along the Meramec and Missouri Rivers with crisp 50 to 70 degree afternoons, ideal for campfires. Summer (June to August) runs hot and humid with highs in the upper 80s to mid-90s, so look for RVs with strong air conditioning and shaded campsites. Winter rentals are quieter and cheaper but bring freezing nights, so confirm the RV has a furnace and heated tanks. Local tip: time your trip with the Eureka Days festival in September for small-town Missouri charm.
weather.gov/lsx/I've never rented an RV before. Will I actually know how to use it?
Yes, first time renting an RV is far easier than most people expect, especially in Concord. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through how to start the generator, dump tanks, run the awning, operate the propane stove, and connect to shore power. You can also message your host any time during the trip with questions. If you'd rather skip towing or backing into a site, choose a host who offers delivery and setup, the RV will be ready and level when you arrive. Tip: watch a quick RV walkthrough video the night before pickup, you'll absorb the orientation twice as fast.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002007014-For-rentersWhat happens if something breaks down during my Concord, MO RV trip?
You're never stranded. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so a flat tire on I-55, a dead battery at Meramec State Park, or a stuck slide-out at Pin Oak Creek RV Park is a single phone call away from help. RVezy's support team can dispatch a tow, jump start, tire change, or lockout service any hour of the day. For mechanical questions specific to the RV (like how the water pump works), you can also message your host directly through the app. Tip: snap a quick photo of the RV's license plate, VIN, and odometer at pickup, it speeds up any service call.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best RV road trips from Concord, MO?
An RV road trip from Concord can take you in almost any direction. Cross-border trips into Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee are straightforward on RVezy bookings. Travel into Mexico isn't permitted, and trips into Canada require host approval. nps.gov/ozar/index.htmWhat kind of fuel mileage should I budget for in a Concord, MO RV rental?
Budgeting for fuel is easier than you think. Travel trailers and fifth wheels towed behind your own truck typically pull 10 to 14 MPG, Class B campervans get 16 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 9 to 12 MPG, and Class A coaches run 6 to 10 MPG. Missouri gas prices typically sit at or below the national average, and stations along I-270 and I-44 near Concord are convenient and RV-friendly. For a 300-mile weekend in a Class C, you can estimate fuel cost by dividing miles by MPG and multiplying by the current per-gallon price. Tip: fuel up at TravelCenters of America or Pilot Flying J in Foristell, they have high-clearance pumps and easy pull-throughs for any RV size.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far ahead should I book a campground for a family RV trip from Concord?
For a family RV trip Concord travelers want to remember, book campsites 6 to 8 weeks ahead for summer weekends and major holidays, and 2 to 3 weeks ahead for spring and fall. Missouri State Parks (Babler, Robertsville, Meramec, Onondaga Cave) use the icampmo1.usedirect.com reservation system, and sites open up months in advance. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds at Mark Twain Lake and Wappapello Lake book through Recreation.gov. Private parks like the Eureka KOA take reservations year-round. Tip: Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day weekends sell out the day reservations open, so set a calendar reminder for the day the booking window opens.
recreation.gov/What are local driving conditions like around Concord, MO?
Driving an RV around Concord is very manageable for first-timers. The area sits at the southern edge of St. Louis County with easy access to I-270, I-55, and I-44, but rush hour on I-270 between 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. can be slow, so plan departures mid-morning. Avoid downtown St. Louis (low railroad bridges on Broadway, narrow streets in Soulard) with bigger Class A or Class C rigs. Park larger RVs at a Metro Park-and-Ride and take MetroLink into downtown attractions. Tip: heading to the Ozarks, take I-44 west to stay out of city traffic, it's the smoothest route with plenty of fuel stops.

Most private parks like the Eureka KOA, 370 Lakeside Park, and Pin Oak Creek offer full hookups (30 and 50 amp electric, water, and sewer), Wi-Fi, hot showers, laundry, and dump stations. Missouri State Parks like Babler and Robertsville typically offer electric sites with central water spigots and a dump station on-site for registered campers. You'll also find potable water fills at many Casey's General Store locations along I-44, and dump stations at Flying J in Foristell. Tip: pack a 25-foot drinking-water hose and a 30-to-50 amp adapter, they cover the vast majority of hookup situations across Missouri campgrounds.

Expect a queen or king bed in the main bedroom, plus bunk or convertible dinette beds (most listings on RVezy sleep 4 to 8 people), a kitchen with a fridge, freezer, microwave, propane stove, and oven, a bathroom with a toilet and shower, a roof air conditioner, propane furnace, and a TV with antenna or streaming. Many listings include outdoor speakers, awnings with LED lights, generators or solar, and pre-stocked kitchen kits. Seatbelts are required for everyone while driving, so confirm the sleep count matches the seatbelt count. RVezy hosts in the Concord area offer a deep menu of add-ons to make your trip easier. Common options include linen and towel packages, kitchen kits with pots, plates, and utensils, generators, portable grills, bike racks, camp chairs, outdoor rugs, fire pits, and even Starlink Wi-Fi on some listings. Delivery and setup is a popular paid add-on, with hosts typically charging a per-mile rate from their location. Pickup is usually mid-afternoon with drop-off by late morning, though times are set by the host. Payment is straightforward and entirely handled through RVezy, so no cash changes hands with the host. You'll pay the rental total (nightly rate, mileage package, add-ons, protection plan, and taxes) at the time of booking via credit card. A refundable security deposit is held on your card before pickup, and it's released back to you within a few days after drop-off, assuming no damage or excess cleaning. Tip: snap a quick walk-around video at pickup and drop-off showing the exterior, interior, and odometer, it's the single best way to protect your deposit and keep everything friction-free.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhere can I park or stay overnight in an RV near Concord, MO without a campground reservation?
You have solid overnight options if you arrive late or want a free stop. In the Concord area, several Walmart Supercenters (like the ones in Arnold and Fenton) often allow free overnight RV parking with manager permission, and the Flying J in Foristell and Pilot in Pacific welcome overnighters with showers and dump stations on site. Cracker Barrel locations along I-44 and I-55 typically allow a single overnight stay with a meal purchase. For longer stays, you'll want a real campsite. Street parking overnight is restricted within most St. Louis County municipalities, so stick to designated lots. Tip: always call ahead, it's the easiest way to confirm where to park an RV in Concord that night.
