Campgrounds and RV parks near Hayti, MO

Fishing is the headline activity. Reelfoot Lake is known for its submerged cypress forest and strong panfish, largemouth bass, and catfish action, with a boat launch ramp and a fish cleaning house on site and rental boats available from private facilities within one to five miles of the park. Sportsmans Resort provides direct lake access for anglers who want to launch early. Wildlife viewing is also strong. Bald eagles winter at Reelfoot Lake and eagle tours run during the colder months, and the park hosts an annual American white pelican celebration in the fall. Closer to Hayti, Century Casino and RV Park offers gaming and dining along the Mississippi. The Bootheel's flat county roads and levee routes are workable for casual cycling, and Discovery Park of America in Union City, Tennessee, is within day-trip range.

Spring is the busiest camping window in the region. Tennessee State Parks explicitly notes that the South Campground at Reelfoot Lake is extremely busy during April and May, driven by crappie season and mild temperatures. Book early if targeting those months. Wildflowers, migratory birds, and comfortable daytime highs make March through May a strong all-around window, though this is also the wettest stretch, with severe thunderstorms and occasional tornado risk across the Bootheel. Summer brings hot, humid days with highs regularly near the upper 80s Fahrenheit. Mosquitoes are active near the lake and river bottoms, so screen rooms and repellent are worth packing. Interpretive programs run at Reelfoot Lake during the summer months. Fall cools off after mid-September and offers the year's most stable weather, with lower rainfall and good fishing. Winter is mild by Midwestern standards but wet, and it is prime season for bald eagle viewing at Reelfoot Lake, where the South Campground remains open year-round.

Terrain around Hayti is flat delta farmland, which means level pads and easy backing at most parks, but limited natural shade at some sites. Cell coverage from major carriers is generally solid along the I-55 corridor and thins on lake access roads. At the South Campground at Reelfoot Lake, expect 86 paved sites with 20, 30, and 50-amp electric plus water, three bathhouses (two with hot showers, one with laundry and a dishwashing area), and a dump station at the entrance. Century Casino and RV Park offers pull-through and back-in pads with hookups, laundry, showers, and a dump station. Pack for humidity, biting insects near the water, and sudden thunderstorms in spring and summer. Firewood should be sourced locally or heat-treated to avoid moving pests, per Tennessee State Parks guidance.
