John was VERY detailed oriented with his instructions so you knew exactly what you needed, where to find things, etc. He was friendly and responsive whenever I had a question. The van itself is awesome! Bed and linens were comfortable and they had all the camping supplies and cookware making it super convenient. No mechanical ssues- she ran like a beast! Got me around safely and comfortably. If I could,I would have loved to extend my stay but sadly had to leave. I wholeheartedly enjoyed my adventures traveling solo in this spacious, gorgeous camper van. Also, John was fantastic explaining and notifying you with any add on's/ additional charges if necessary so nothing comes at a surprise. Thank you for allowing me to have such an amazing experience in Glacier. I will never forget it! Highly recommend :)

How to book near Helena Flats

For campgrounds inside Glacier National Park, reservations are handled through Recreation.gov. Most sites have a 6-month booking window with a good handful having a 4-day booking window. Peak summer weekends at Apgar, Fish Creek, St. Mary, and Many Glacier routinely sell out the moment reservations open. Private parks in the Helena Flats and Kalispell area, including Rocky Mountain Hi Campground, Spruce Park On The River RV Resort, Three Bears RV Park, Cabins and Storage, La Salle RV Park, and Whispering Pines RV Park, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. For July and August, booking several months out is strongly recommended. Per 36 CFR 5.3, commercial business may not take place inside Glacier National Park; this includes RVs and trailers being delivered within Glacier's boundaries, and renters of these must drive them in themselves.

What to expect

Sites in the Helena Flats area generally offer full hookups, Wi-Fi, and easy access from U.S. Highway 2, with less highway and rail noise than parks closer to central Kalispell. Elevations sit around 3,000 feet, so nights are cool even in midsummer and mornings can be chilly. Grizzly and black bears frequent the area. When not in immediate use, all food, beverages, coolers, cooking utensils, pet food, or other attractants must be kept in a closed, hard-sided vehicle or secured in bear proof storage lockers near campground restrooms, and this rule is strictly enforced inside Glacier. Vehicle and vehicle combinations longer than 21 feet or wider than 8 feet including mirrors are prohibited between the Sun Point parking area and Avalanche Campground on Going-to-the-Sun Road. Cell coverage is reliable in the Helena Flats and Kalispell area but drops off quickly inside Glacier.
